for those who thought "oh why is tails orange now that made it less accurate" brown tails was a test to see what could be done with sonic's color palette, but it looked horrendous so they just changed it btw hidden palace music sucks

I noticed sonic has a different running animation, and as so as the music from the original S2 zone themes have been altered to sound like the masa demo music.
Man this is emotional, look at all the amazing jobs people are doing with the scrapped zones, the work they did with Ocean Wind and Tropical Sun looks so right and beautiful, I loved that Aquatic Ruin Act 2 is based on Emerald Isle and the background for Metropolis Act 2 being the prototype one, speaking of that it will be great if in the next update the background for Act 3 is the final one, it will be one amazing transition for the level. The only things I didn't like about this game were the songs for Sand Shower and Hidden Palace, I think it will be better if all scrapped/concept zones have their own original songs, I really don't think that the Oil Ocean song goes well with Sand Shower's aesthetic.

I disagree, the theme literally has arabic desert vibes written all over it even when you listen to the demo for it. It fits sand shower well considering it was meant for it
@@Reckless_Ninja2 Sand Shower is a western-themed desert, the Oil Ocean song doesn't fit with the atmosphere and the layouts for the stage aren't slow as the ones from Oil Ocean thus making it even more unfitting.

Hold on! I just watched the part where we get to see the level orders! So Tropical Sun, Aquatic Ruin, Blue Ocean, and Hill Top are in the Past time! Kind of strange having two water levels back-to-back. I'm interested to see how different Blue Ocean will be from Aquatic Ruin. And in the RUINED Present, we have Rock World, Oil Ocean, Madness Mountain, and Mystic Cave! Madness Mountain is that castle level, if I recall correctly. This looks awesome.
If you look at the sound test, you will find a song assigned to Blue Ocean Zone separate from Aquatic Ruins. It's most likely going to be in a second visit to the "Past" alongside Hill Top.

It's going to drive me crazy to recognize the first notes of Tropical Sun Zone, but I can't tell if I heard them, I'm sure they're inspired by another music, but I can't tell which one... Help !! 😭🤣🤣🤣
I like this project. But looking for concept and things, I have some complains: 1) Why background and music changes between acts? This doesn't make sense, specially Sand Shower Act 1 with oversaturation color which doesn't match with Brenda concept. Also, some backgrounds are inaccurate with intended concept cause this. 2) Some new tracks don't fit well with Sonic 2 perspective and Masato Nakamura Pop style. 3) Some backdrop objects aren't detailed as background and vice versa. 4) Ocean Wind background is strange. Looks like cloud instead water.
As much as I was looking forward to this, it doesn’t seem very faithful to the original vision of the game. The time of day shift is really jarring and the palettes don’t fit the game at all, that definitely wasn’t intended for Sonic 2. And the shuffling of Aquatic Ruin into a past zone is strange. It’s called “Neo Green Hill”, it’s intended to be a ruined present variant of Green/Emerald Hill zone I could also mention the new music is pretty bad, I don’t wanna feel negative about this hack because I’ve really been looking forward to this update; but it’s pretty disappointing overall
From what I can tell this rom hack is based upon stuff that was scrapped from Sonic 2, but I highly agree on what you said here especially the part about the palletes
@@trCD210 It is yeah, but the way it’s being implemented is not accurate to how the developers planned it. Some of it is up to interpretation because of lack of info on the beta, but a lot of this is just adding on fanon ideas that don’t mesh well with what this hack is supposed to accomplish
I tell you something, the faithful you are talking about is meant for Time Quest, this hack is not supposed to have those details and the team are doing a great job by adding different palettes and backgrounds for each act, by doing that they are distincting their game from Time Quest.
@@Igor39K Time Quest hasn’t had an update in over 2 years, it’s probably canceled. That’s not really a good excuse for these fanon-y changes that no one asked for. Rapidly shifting the time of day doesn’t add anything to the game and is really jarring, there’s already time-of-day shifts per zone like in Sonic 1, which starts out at day but slowly turns night as you move from Marble to Spring Yard, to Star Light zone. It’s much more gradual

why does every sonic 2 hack have that same boring standard original emerald hill zone ? well at least this one slowed the pace down of the music so you feel a difference when playing it 😅 i will stick with sonic 1 hacks at least on the green hill ones they changed the music and other stuff lol

The new update is fine but the tails made more sense with their color palette in the previous version

Remember when prototypes of Sonic 2 do that. When the music of Emerald Hill starts playing, the speed of the music slows down.

not a fan of the music truthfully but as a proof of concept a lot of the graphics are good
