- aka Musical Lulu. Most of the copies of this cartoons floating around on RUclips are in pretty poor shape. I fixed the opening so the Little Lulu theme is no longer cut or out-of-sync (there's still a brief point where the audio goes out of sync later on in the cartoon, but that's in every print.)

4:37 "He's a lyre! An awful lyre!"
It took me 20 years to get that joke lol
Longer than I've been alive. (13)
FlippinDingDong ohhhh myyyy gosh
What's a lyre ?
LilTrigga HardHitta a Greek harp.
@@HBKnowItAll oh lol
I've seen this when I was younger and couldn't quite forget about it. The musical instruments really scared me then.
My mom once told me I’d be attacked by the same guys that attacked Lulu if I didn’t practice my flute.
Why?
@@staspastukh2005 cuz if she didnt tell her she may wouldn't had practised her lessons
@@staspastukh2005Let’s just say that it’s more of a “learning a lesson” thing.
man, this is a crappy loss of slapstick in 1947
I remember having this on VHS with correctly synced audio.
As a child, I use to play my violin next to my bay window & watch my friends play outside. I can relate with this cartoon.
i remember my big sister loved it when i sang the little lu lu song r.i.p my big sister rosemary i will always love you and remember you❤
Oh I see. Sorry for your loss.
That's a sweet memory sorry for your loss
I had a tape/dvd waaaaay back in the day that had some old cartoons with this one it.
I’m 19, my dad is 68. I used to watch this every morning, not the new version the old 1940s classics ❤️❤️❤️
Very clever of Lulu. Using her viola as a bat and playing it while running for home. Guess you can have your cake and eat it too.
It shattered to pieces the very next ball she hit.
I guess Lulu hasn’t learned her lesson cause using her violin as a baseball bat is abusing it!
2:28 Lulu: But I didn't even do anything wrong!
holy nostalgia...its been a good 20 years since I've seen this. thanks uploader!
5:18 THIS is the moment I distinctly remember more than any other about seeing in an old 4 hour cartoon VHS that I had in the early '90s.
Dozens of cartoons of all sorts (I think there were 2 "Little Lulu" episodes, several Warner Bros cartoons (Bugs Bunny with the black boy trying to catch a rabbit, and one where he's involved with flying a plane, and Daffy Duck with the German corporal), Little Audrey, a three part cartoon with non-cartoon introduction (can't remember what that was called), and forgotten others.
But *this* specific scene with the tall musical notes has stood out in my mind for over 30 years.
Amazing how the mind is able to remember such things (I think I was not in the best of health at the time, which answers a lot).
I also remember that they were looking down (at someone... couldn't remember precisely who though) and were walking menacingly toward them in a line as is shown here (though I remember them coming from the left, and not the right as is shown here).
orijinal muñequita lulu la veia por televisión todos los dias los felicito por transmitir lulu bonita noche
RYYYTHM
CANT LIVE WITHOUT RYYYYTHM
Oh wow! I remember seeing this on TV back in the 90s. I was watching the 90s Lulu show at the time, and was confused as to why Lulu was suddenly in the style of a Mickey Mouse cartoon.
Haven't seen this in years
I remember this episode I feel so old now
I watched this on one of the the 100 greatest cartoon VHS tapes
Squidward would love to have this prosecutor be for him.
Squidward ought to have a trail just like this for abusing his clarinet too.
I prefer these cartoons than the new cartoons
This, the Rugrats episodes "The Trial" and "Pickles vs. Pickles" and the Arthur episode "Sick as a Dog" were basically my introduction to how court trials worked as a kid. Though this is more or less a kangaroo court.
Yep! I had a VHS of this during the 90s when I was a toddler myself, and there was the same issue. I always just assumed it was poor audio syncing. Does this mean you've seen a version that was better than this?
"I leave it to the jury. What do you say ?" YOUHOU !
5:17 What is this song called
This cartoon scares me when i was kid.
Same here but for some reason it's one of my favorites for lulu.
@@aznmozez2214 Same. It is one of my favourites too!
Why
I LOOOOOVE LITTLE LULU!!!
One of my old time favorites ;)
oh god I love my violin and I really do practise throughout these years and I forgive that instrument.
my name is Lulu. my mom says eye was obsessed w/ dis show when eye was little; eye have no recollection but it's a guilty pleasure of mine even now, as a 29yr old woman. lmaooooo bless.
These instruments would be a great Boss for Cuphead Game or those notes
Ah, I know why this problem occurs. Unfortunately, this means the copy it was recorded from was damaged. I have a bootleg tape with this cartoon that I don't recall having a sync issue, so if I ever find that I could let you know. If I don't find it or if it's out of sync I suppose I just won't respond either way. Regardless, that's not the first time I've seen these issues and different recordings will be likely to either not have an imperfection like that, or even have one in another spot.
Ever since famous studios began to rot after the war was over, musica lulu was one of famous studios best post war cartoons next to the Jim Tyer animated popeye cartoons, the enchanted square, and the Casper trilogy
Tex Avery cartoons will always be one of the best as well
How'd you get this in such good quality? Was there a dvd that had these in actually decent quality?
That’s my all life this cartoon !
*my entire life
Nostalgic! When i was little, i was só scared of this epispde, but right now i like this ep, real fun! 😎
Me Too Little Lulu was abit unsettling sometimes.

Anyone know where I can find a picture of the talking violin?
Música original e orquestrações: Winston Sharples. Vozes: Cecil Roy (Luluzinha) e Jackson Beck (pai de Luluzinha e bateria). Distribuição original: Paramount Pictures.
What is that musical score that she i practicing on her violin?
Kids won't know that Lulu had a concussion... Tho i watched this Cartoons on VHS back in the Year 2000 good Childhood 😉 😎
This used to scare the hit out of me as a child
I found a way to watch the last portion of the cartoon with the sound in sync. If you have two youtube windows open at once playing the cartoon with the sound muted on one then you can sync up the sound with what's playing.
Does this exist in all the prints of the cartoon?
@geoffreyrichards6079 As far as I can tell. I grew up with the out of sync version and I've only ever found it like this.
Tubby: wait a go stinky
You could play CAKE's SHORT SKIRT/ LONG JACKET to this and it'd synch up like PINK FLOYD's Dark Side of the Moon to the WIZARD OF OZ.
3:46 The jury.
3:47 “I want order in the court no monkey business.”🙉 😂🤣🎼🎵🎶🎶🎶
well the recorded version I've seen fits with the music so it's got to be something else
"Lulu is charged with an awful sin,
And here's the complainant: This broken-hearted violin.
After giving Little Lulu the best years of her life,
Seeing Little Lulu... (what?)
Submitting to her fingers that (perped?) her night and day,
Little Lulu, in a fit of temper, threw her away!"

@@stephburdick Thanks.
If you ever wanted Lulu Moppet to be in a surreal Alice in Wonderland scenario, well this should suffice.
3:21 Little Lulu bubble gum scenes
This reminded me of Hap Palmer Music Video: “Chomping Gum”
I had a DVD player and always put the CD In I still have it but it's old and rusty
Hey gidi günler hey 👍❤️
Seeing little lulu, whose... What's the rest?
@jpongsin2002 How?
Thumbs up if the video of the Funky Worm’s “Hustle (To the Music)” brought you here! Peace.

#HowFunAndInventive!
0:55 Since when does Lulu Moppet have a dog?
It varies from short to short. There was at least 3 shorts including this one that does show that she has a dog or is part of the family in some way.
This dog only appears in theses shorts but in the comics there's this dog that's small and is black and white

So, this was a criminal case, huh? It's because that clarinet was the prosecutor. Had this been a civil case, he'd have been the plaintiff.
Looney Tunes?
No, this is from Paramount. Little Lulu's own series of shorts.
Prank moment at 4:00 lol
The violin looks so choppy.

Lulu Moppet is not real
No shit Sherlock
Did they make little girl show some leg 🫢
What do you mean that's a bit preverted
"He's a lyre, and awful lyre."
Writing like that is endangered.
So is writing like you are as wild as any zulu. Racist.

This was my childhood! My mom had so many of these VHS tapes...
Using a violin as a baseball bat, isn't it abusing it? Looks like Lulu has not learned her lesson!
samanli2014 Also....violins are NOT cheap.
Well, she was trying to make sure both ways go: so she can play her violin and still play the baseball game with the boys... but you're right, that does not make it excusable.
If She smashed her violin for using it as a baseball bat I guess that would make her a murderer in her dream fantasies.
This was one of my fave Little Lulu cartoon
Omg my life I haven’t watched one since I was 5 and all these random old shoes popped into my mind this week
This is wonderful!! All other sites miss the beginning and a line of the first verse! This is the first time in 30 years ive heard the theme the way it og aired!! Brings back such great memories!!
at 3:47, insead of little lulu, its little savage XD
Ну, что поделать. Она то ведь и задумывалась, как проказница. А её главной соперницей была добродушная красавица Глория Гуд
Oh man... this is better than my VHS copy. The audio on that was about 3-4 seconds off
I was only around to seen the 90's little Lulu which aired on HBO and family channel I watched all the episodes on family channel.
I was lucky enough that my grams had alot of these old ones recorded on VHS so I grew up on these I never knew they a 90s little lulu
Man I still remember watching these shorts as a kid. In fact this was probably my first short. 🥰
In the Opening Song of this 1940's Little Lulu Cartoon, If you notice? They make fun of the African Zulu Nation
pimptrees Yeah...the 1940s were kinda racist like that.
Where was fun made of them? Zulu Nation warriors were wild and hard to tame.
You think that’s bad then checkout the African American Maid scenes in various Tom & Jerry Episodes now that’s old fashioned racism.
@@alasdairandrew1447 iv seen it
Wonderful memories! Thank you Love Barbara
I remember these cartoons as a kid during a morning show called Slam Bang Theatre. It was a show in Dallas and possibly other cities too. But this was the cartoons I watched before I set out for school
I love this cartoon it's my favorite cartoon
This Is Like A Combination Of Pluto's Judgement Day And Music Land Both Released In 1935
NOSTALGIA
Paramount pulled a real rabbit out of the hat here, a lacklustre cartoon, with a rather boring premise turned into a great one. The trial in a "land" (musicland here) theme is kind of old hat, but the bold colors, and sleek, functional characters (loved that clarinette), excellent gags, snappy dialog (you're a lyre!), and a hallucinatory, superbly designed, escape sequence put this toon over the top.
I would have liked to see, in all the cartoons, a character design for Lulu that followed the comic book almost exactly.
The sync problem didn't bother me too much, it was late in the cartoon and the surreal kinetics were in full swing.
The racial stereotyping of the notes was unfortunate especially since at 5:18 they looked so sleek and menacing without lips. Those huge lips seemed irresistable to cartoonists of the day. On the other hand, less often commented on, many white characters have no lips at all, or only a suggested lower lip. I didn't see any on Lulu.
I remember my father brought me a collection of tapes for Christmas and this VHS was one of them that was in it I used to love this cartoon
Though you're wild as any Zulu and you're just as hard to tame ?
Racism wasn't forbidden in the 1940's, that's why.
Whoa--!!! I never even NOTICED that!!!
@@user-cx4hp4ze5d Not racist. Zulus WERE wild, they had their warriors crawl through thorns, spit poison, and fought like wildmen with spears against men armed with rifles. And they would be proud of the statement that they were hard to tame. Only hypersensitive white saviors have a problem with that line.
idiot moronic 'woke' ppl r conditioned to think thois is 'racist'.
@jadedandbitter Are you showing your age or just a punk bitch? I have seen you write this in other comment sections so, clearly, making excuses for racial insensitivity is some kind of crusade for you. Get a better cause.
I was like 5 years old when I played this on VHS I used to watch it at night before going to sleep.
My mom once told me if I don't practice my flute for band class the music will start attacking me just like what happened to Lulu.
As an art-form you can hold the cartoon for 'total theatre'.
Within that I consider 'Lulu" as a pure classic of the genre, if not the best.
And it's a shame that there's only 27 episodes of it !!
Loving the intro
I'm now officially convinced that I can't do anything about the point where the cartoon goes out of sync (when Lulu lands on the piano). The situation is the same on the two different copies of the cartoon on RUclips, the official 1983 NTA VHS release, and even the Spanish audio associated with this print. For this reason, I hope a copy with original titles and in-sync audio surfaces some day.
omg i remember this show
i used to watch rhis show when i was little
