My mudguard lasted 1 ride, it got mashed when I bottomed the front fork doing jumps. Also, make sure you apply blue loctite to the two bolts that hold the catch on to the battery compartment. We have 2 of these Talaria Sting's, and we lost both bolts on both bikes within our first 4 rides. Other than that, they are very, very fun!
@@jglaine How're you finding the rear sprocket you're running? I'm using the stock sprocket (thus far) but might want to add a few teeth to get a bit more grunt for steep riding. Can you let me know what size sprocket you opted for?
@@ToriMoto i'm using a 58, but found out with the gearbox ration of the sting it's really a 50T i need. Join the facebook page Talaria and surron owners australia, someone asked the same question and they race on a 52t apparently
Seems like a Sur-ron with every bad thing about it being addressed. Things like rear wheel clearance, battery gimmicks, brakes etc. I LOVE the gearbox thing and I find it quite unique in this market. Might ba a big selling point. Update: watched your other video, seems the gearbox doesn't do much..
yes unfortunately i was expecting a gearbox "with gears" too. But it's plenty of power and super twitchy, i couldn't ride it with gears..fast.The geometry is different, that's really for me the big highlight
@@jglaine yeah, and the price is right also. They are aiming directly at surron owners it seems. Interesting bike - if they would have made it even bigger slightly (think Cake Kalk size) it would have been perfect. Not KTM E-XC size, something in the middle. Not enough for me to ditch my surron so I'll just keep an eye on it. Have fun riding it!
I'm pretty sure the headset space should be on the bottom not the top. The rear shock has a spacer which jacks the bike up by a few centimeters. Sitting on the bike as you have it feels weird because the front is low. I flipped that spacer to the bottom of the headset and that evened the bike out a lot. Even still this thing desperately needs a bigger front wheel.
yeah what you're saying makes total sense. I didn't notice, but will check it out when i'm done work, that could be a big difference indeed ! i have a 21/18 setup ready to go...from a segway lol. Doesn't look like it will firt straight on...but for now i use the bike as is to test and provide feedback.
You know the peg spacer bar surron use to keep the pegs from bending in when the bikes dropped... will they work on this bike as well? I know the swingarms wider but idk if the peg spacing is... or does this bike not really need a bar like the surron does???
yeah thats a really good questions. They sold it to me without, and so far i haven't come accross a set of pegs made for the sting as the pattern is slightly different apparently.I'd say the space is the same, but i'll measure it lateer today and report
i have read on their official page that they were working on it.. Join the talaria and surron owners australia FB page if you'd like more info as AE-Bikes would know
Definitely improved compared to a surron...i will have a review put together soon, i hope, first ride was 20 min ago. seating position is over the front wheel so it feels much more planted and a lot more grip at the front.. Longer wheelbase too, so less wheelies, it turns quicker in tight single trails ! it's faster than a segway o-60, then the segway was faster.
I did a video but its shaky as...trying to source a proper camera now..its just a tad more nimble that a surron, riding position is more to the front of the bike, and suspension stock works really goorld except cant jump if you're above 75kg..
I got one on pre-order right now for a jan delivery I can't wait...
AWESOME 👀
Beautiful

So I did the exact same thing and broke the mudguard as well :) I noticed these bolts indeed, funny you should mention that ! Thanks for the tip !

Looks alright, like the new battery connect, but what's up with the front fender?
Yeh not the best work they did on that one :) tried to fit a proper one but can't unless using a fork without the linkage thing...
That's how they come in rst forks with the surron too.. I threw mine away.
Just got my Talaria today :) my Protaper handlebars are a bit too long and I may need to change it. Which ones are you using on your bike here?
Mine are ergodic...but you can also cut them if they're too long :)

No USB?
Correct

Is there a USB port to charge externals ?

No gear changes..just a sealed gearbox to change the ratio..its like a durron but with internal gears rather than a belt.
@@jglaine above 75? WTF hahahahaaaa. 165lb is nothing, can send it massive on my spesh xc mtb and i am 205lb... bit shocked to read that info- thanks
If dis bike sells in India.... U I'll get good profit on dis E-Bike
