Hi thank you. This is the closest thing to the way I want it to work. The only thing is that I still have to open Power Bi and click "Get Data" button. Is there a way to fully automate data from Sql Server to Power Bi Desktop without us having to open Power Bi? I have the idea of automate the whole thing from Sql Server (select * from) -> Power bi desktop(data cleaning with Pandas & create dashboards) -> Publish to Power bi online I just want to automate the whole thing. Can you suggest the solution?

I appreciate how quickly you run through this tutorial. Tons of information packed into a short period of time. You put this puzzle together better for me than any other video. Good job.
Wa ohh this is exactly what have been looking for how to create jobs in SQL and automating sql and with power bi, thank you so much always a God sent you are
I had been looking for this kind of content from such a long time...Thank you so much for your efforts and this video. I have found this extremely helpful!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks a lot for putting this video. I am delighted with this video. You explained every single bit precisely without rushing and taking any short cuts. There are very few videos where SQL connectivity is shown using the stored procedure. Most of the videos use Excel spreadsheet to explain the concept. In this tutorial, you did touch the scheduling the SQL job to run at a set frequency and this was really good to know. Power BI presentation was also very good. Good on you mate. Please keep posting similar videos. You may start new tutorials on how to use DAX to create measures in the power bi.
Great video! I’ve subscribed!!! I was looking for a piece to walk me through the actual process of linking to Power BI and this does that perfectly!! Thanks
In power bi there’s a schedule refresh, what’s the difference with what you’ve just presented. Wouldn’t it be possible to schedule a refresh for an csv file?
Isn't there a way to scedule SQL Server so that it automatically updates when we make the changes to the Excel file without us having to run the command again?
Great video. I have a question, Do we need to update manually the excel file each week? is there a way that the excel file will be automated automatically ? so no need to update it manually ? thank you
The video is amazing and has helped to understand lots of concept. Unfortunately, when I try same code I have an Error while BULK INSERT can someone help me with it, please
I wanted to understand, why didn't we directly connect excel to power bi? Does using SQL in between has some advantage in terms of speed or flexibility?
As per my understanding you can directly connect to the excel . There maybe many scenarios where you want to create new tables in db to load the excel or other files and pull reports from warehouse . This is the scenario he is explaining .
Any advice, what would be the difference if we connect excel to bi through SQL vs we connect excel to bi directly or via web like sharepoint/onedrive? Since I also able to automate the report with those 2 ways. I just need to refresh bi to update the data visualization. please advice.. Thanks.
Hi if I have multiple tables in sql like 5 tables and i want to automate dashboard in power bi by using postgres sql, how can i do... Is this same way, or pls make a video, as before my data source was excel..
I have one question over here. So, what if the excel raw data consists of any formulas in the cells. Would it be able to pick the same values in power bi as well ? Appreciate if anyone can clear my doubt..
Hello, what if I have a live data connection with sql server and i want the month slicer to get updated and add a month at every 1st of next month and i also want to show it the previous months. How can i do it ? Please help
Hi. I really learnt a whole lot from this. Quick question, if the dataset was imported into sql as a table and not using query, can the automation still work. Because it seems like the "table creation" and "Bulk insert" from the URL in the stored procedure is what allows the automation to work.
Hi thanks for the nice tutorial very informative. Please where can I find the raw data to donload as on your github it too big and it won't download? Thank you in advance
Hello. that's so cool. Clean and clearly explained. And I have one question over here. So, what if the excel raw data consists of any formulas in the cells. Would it be able to pick the same values in power bi as well ? Appreciate if anyone can clear my doubt. Thank you!!!
Hello! If i may ask i want to know if postgresql is compatible with power bi. What sql has more advantages in order to work with power bi? Thanks in advace. Nice videos. New subscriptor

@@norpriest521 You will have to investigate the live connections. There is a few options. One of them I use is Analysis Services via Visual studio
Yes you can set refresh option from power bi for sql server data to automatically refresh from page option pane in power bi.

What would it be the process to connect a folder that contain multiples Excel files with the same format but newer data to be updated...?
I wanted to understand, why didn't we directly connect excel to power bi? Does using SQL in between has some advantage in terms of speed or flexibility?
hi @Data360YP please revert on this?
As per my understanding you can directly connect to the excel . There maybe many scenarios where you want to create new tables in db to load the excel or other files and pull reports from warehouse . This is the scenario he is explaining .
SQL makes it much easier to input and pull data from a database! I like it better than excel
Enterprise data will be stored in SQL or data data wherehouses,as he is trying to explain that scenario
Sql is better to extract data from multiple tables than in excel
Any advice, what would be the difference if we connect excel to bi through SQL vs we connect excel to bi directly or via web like sharepoint/onedrive?
Since I also able to automate the report with those 2 ways. I just need to refresh bi to update the data visualization.

Hello, what if I have a live data connection with sql server and i want the month slicer to get updated and add a month at every 1st of next month and i also want to show it the previous months. How can i do it ? Please help
Great video. But can someone help me understand why the 'creat view' step does not need to be included in the procedure? Does it automatically re-run?
Hi. I really learnt a whole lot from this. Quick question, if the dataset was imported into sql as a table and not using query, can the automation still work. Because it seems like the "table creation" and "Bulk insert" from the URL in the stored procedure is what allows the automation to work.

Great video! Will this only work on MSSQL, or other flavours such as MySQL?
