She was there giving instructions through out the entire renovation, she didn't just draw up designs and let someone else do the work. They had to get extra people to help finish on time and the people that were working on the stairs did them wrong and not up to code. She screamed and hollered about how much this was going to cost her becausr they had to be taken out and redone. The house had a detached garage and the lady who was buying the house was a yoga instructer, and she wanted the garage turned into a yoga studio. Alison told her there would be no problem. They showed the final reveal and the house looked beautiful, but 1.3 million dollars and 6 moths later, they had bad rain storms in Chicago and the homeowners found out that "all" the windows in the house were put in incorrectly and the entire house flooded. There was approximately 100 thousand dollars worth of damage and there were also problems with the yoga studio. Alison immediately put all the blame on Donovan and even tried to pretend that a notary that they used had forged her signature on the paperwork for the house. That is until that woman threatened to sue her. She got her half of the money but she wanted all the responsibility for what went wrong to only be put on Donovan. There were some other problems with their business, like problems with investors that could be attributed just to Donovan but not the issues with those two houses. She thought she bore no responsibility for the problems until those people put a lean on her newly renovated house. She finally settled with them and then on the first episode on season two, she had Donovan on the show and publicly blamed him. So HGTV didn't hold it against her.

Why do you keep saying the same thing over and over again? It's sad that Donovan had other plans for the business. I think he's a master manipulator, and was trying to swindle Allison all along. Anyone who thinks differently , needs to grow up. You can't be successful when someone is taking money behind your back. Sorry you've had to go through this ordeal Allison. You'll come out on top.
