    Great advice for not letting ourselves go stray in tennis.
    Getting fit, be consistent, play points and matches... Tips that we've heard so often but are sometimes neglected due to the inclination of some coaches to take the essentials of tennis for granted. Apart from the clarity of expression, specially for those of us who aren't native speakers 🎉.

    This video sums it up. Probably one of the best videos ever. It’s structured and makes perfect sense.
    Maybe one thing re competitive points: I agree 100%. I would even recommend to play as many matches as possible that « matter ». I have many friends (me included!) who play ok when it’s a friendly match and then totally « freeze » when the match is more important (like holding back etc.)
    But this is one of the best videos of the channel. So good. Well explained etc. Thank you!!

    • @Johnnybgood76
      @Johnnybgood76 Месяц назад +4

      Obviously all of these things are important but you can be as fit as you like and if you double fault multiple times a game and make lots of unforced errors on your groundstrokes, you will lose... A LOT. Fitness levels can improve massively just by keeping the ball in play and playing several times per week.

    • @rexonmarkreyes7947

      @@rexonmarkreyes7947 Have you ever seen a 60 year old beat a 40 year old? By your logic it shouldn't happen, right? Fitness is not everything my man. Serve starts the point and is the only shot you have total control over and if you don't master it, forget the rest. People will always take advantage of people with weak serve.

    Figure out during the warm up if they are left handed first ! usually at the intermediate level 3.0 to 4.5 their backhands are rather good because majority of the players they face are right handed so majority of the balls they face are forehands to their backhand. If not check out to see if the right hander has a good back hand first!

      True, although there will be one side that is worse than the other so you can target it with your serves and shots 👌

    What strings do you use with the Pure Drive and at what tension?

    • @TopTennisTrainingOfficial
      @TopTennisTrainingOfficial  Месяц назад +1

      Monofilament strings strung at 54lbs. I normally use either Big Banger Alu Power or Signum Pro PolyPlasma…the strings in the video are just trial strings

  • @mattiastennis
    @mattiastennis Месяц назад

    Alex, do you like the Pure Drives now? If so is that 98 or 100 frame? Thought you were into Extremes(Tour?) ?

    • @TopTennisTrainingOfficial
      @TopTennisTrainingOfficial  Месяц назад +1

      I’ve always had a love for the Pure Drive and played with them throughout my career, thinking of going back to it…what do you think? The Extreme Tour I used while travelling with a pro player on tour who is sponsored by Head.

    • @mattiastennis
      @mattiastennis Месяц назад +1

      @@TopTennisTrainingOfficial In older videos you seem to use both Pure Drives or Pure Aeros so thats interesting to hear.
      Who was the pro player I may ask ? Wish I was sponsored by Head.. My thoughts:
      I tried the new Pure Drive 98 recently and disliked it but the player I was hitting with in the demo session liked them even though he likes Pro Staff 97s. I liked the Pure Aero 98 which is incredible for forehands but I still found it not enjoyable on the backhand both topspin and slices.
      It depends though what you are looking for in a racquet and I think for one handed backhands we need to focus particularly if a racquet is good on topspin and slices. This obviously leads to your decision in head size and pattern. I think you prefer 16x19 pattern but do you want more power / spin or go for more control? Do you even want Extended length frames?
      On my channel I did 2 videos reviewing Head Extreme vs Head Speed and Head Extreme Tour Auxetic 2022. The Extreme Tour is one of the best racquets out there in my opinion partly because it is great on slices and for one handed backhand even though 2 handers can also use it.
      Regarding Pure Drives try new Pure Drive 98 Tour but with a decent string however I think you suit Pure Aero 98s more as you hit with more spin.
      Cecchinato is one hander and he uses Pure Aero 100s I believe and than you had Sam Groth with Pure Drive Plus
