I'd love to see Mike Young Prod do a reboot of New Adventures of He-Man with very clear plotlines that establish the connection between Eternia and He-Man's adventures in space.
Supposedly season four of the 2002 series was going to be an adaptation of the New Adventures. According to the notes left behind when Scott from Spectre Creative worked at Mattel.

In fact, in both the first mini-comic and the first episode of the cartoon series, the sword is different before Adam even leaves Eternia. The mini-comic at least provides explanations for why He-Man and Skeletor look different (as well as a glimpse of a nifty techno-Sorceress).
This the He-man variant I've been waiting for. I've always felt New Adventures got a lot unfair hate.
I agree, if Jetlag at least did what the minicomics for the New Adventures line did, and bridge the visual aesthetic of old to new, I think NA wouldn’t have been as hated. They also should have had more than just Skeletor, He-Man, and Sorceress in regards to original characters. Zodac for instance would have been welcomed!
OMG Dude this He-Man is amazing! He's going to replace my current He-Man when I get him! Also since this was the original concept for Dare, you can display him with King He-Man as KH's son! EPIC WIN ALL AROUND!
This is the one time the Classics version is shinier than the vintage.

Nice, really been looking forward to this figure for some time. I had the vintage figure, but never really liked the armor add on because it looked too clunky. Plus he never used it in the show. Also with the vintage figure, the sword would often snap off at the handle, which was a big problem. I'm glad this figure could finally be made to give NA He-Man a better look.
I never liked NA He-Man. Never liked the concept. But I have to say, that is a COOL figure!
Now it would be great if they reissued Starship Eternia.
I appreciate your reviews, as a subscriber to Club Eternia, these allow to see what I'm receiving. I've enjoyed every figure so far - but that also could be my age - I'm a younger collector of the toys, so beyond the Filmation Cartoon and vintage toyline - which was my introduction, each character is new to me as these are introduced.
Great to see more NA in the line, hope we get the whole set.
my god, fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinally one of my most wanted figures made it into the classics! I feel we are one step closer to Laser Power He-Man now!

Hey Dan had a thought when you got to the head scuplts, maybe they made it this way because it was to differenate between the original/classics look to He-Man and the NA's look to him. I know folks will realize we're talking 2 different series/ 2 different He-Man's but I'm thinking maybe the 4 Horsemen wanted to give NA He-Man his own original facial scuplt & look and not fall back on the classics look.
Not a fan of the bio. "Permanently becomes He-Man" The transformations were the true magic and joy of the shows when we were kids.
This will be the default He-Man on my shelf. Head sculpt may not be perfect but it's still closer to the 1982 original, the wrists are great, and finally-- pants! Also if HM untied his golden locks he would have a most righteous mullet.

see now as far as vintage figures goes, i'm suprised they went with this one, granted i've long awaited it, i would almost expect a redux package of stone-dar and rock-or before this one, thought i must say, i anxiously await their classics update, if and when they're ever made
I really like the new head/face sculpt!
The one on the first He-Man looks kinda Neanderthal by comparison.
The best thing about this figure is the new articulation in the wrists! Being able to hold the sword aloft at an angle is fantastic for posing!!!
Why does this video have the Skeletor intro? I don't remember Galactic Protector He-Man Joining Skeletor.
That figure will look sweet on my shelf. Selling that fight foe man crap the moment it gets here in the mail.
This guy isn't too bad. I'm going to purchase him. I have some of the old New Adventures guys, but I think the hate that came with these guys in the past was for multiple reasons. First, they weren't to scale with the originals. Secondly, they weren't sculpted very well and felt rather cheap when in hand, although the articulation was better. Third, they really lost that fantasy feel, even though He-Man still got his power from magic.
I really like this figure! Am glad to see New Adventures He-Man getting some more love from Mattel.
So far my favorite figure in this line was Fisto, but now I think I found a new favorite!
Awesome review Dan! I've really liked what they have done with these new classics but I had forgotten about The Adventures Of He-Han. So this quite interesting to see that they are making classics out these.
Awesome looking figure! My only gripe is the difference in the head sculpts between this one and the other He-man's depending on if we ever get a release or not this one most likely will in my continuity be Dare and not He-man himself (hey according to Scott New Adventures was supposed to be based on Son of He-man before it was re-worked)

Heck Yeah!! I know this is kind of a low point in the He-Man series but dang it if that is not a cool looking figure! I remember having the original in your comparison shots and he came in a 2-pack with Flogg (Hope they make him too). One of my favorite figs back in the day and I can't wait to pick him up! Unpopular opinion: this is my favorite version of He-Man
My favorite one of all time
This is what killed the toy line back in the 80's. Not so much because He Man went Galactic or his NEW "Flash Gordon" haircut, but because it was totally incompatible with the original line up. They were downscaled/downsized to the 'Star Wars/G I Joe' scale, that was the killer.

Very very nice He-Man variant. I may actually have to get it. I do have a question about NA He-Man, though. Has there ever been an explanation as to why the sword changes?
I prefer the head sculpt (the one whit the ponytail)on this one rather than the original.

Nice figure! Would have been nice in the energy shield was more detailed.
On my get list. Hope get surprised cause my Birthday is 3 days prior. If not I have a toy show to check out. I do wonder how well he can hold say Frosta or Teela wirh the Armor.
Dan take a look at this figures body and compare it to Bow's. They are slightly different Bow has a longer neck and the paint and crotch pieces are not the same
