When David,s embecher finally went and he had to swap to Euphonium,we were robbed of Probably the Finest Cornettist of All Time.He Played amongst others in Greenford Salvation Army band and was helped along the way by lots of People including Bandmaster Alan Barrett at Greenford and Bandmaster Jimmy Williams At Enfield. Both are in Heaven Now,God rest their souls.Andrew Barrett,Former Bandmaster at Greenford.I must add that David is now an Expert Exponent on the Euphonium,God Bless You David!!

What always amazed me about David Daws, he seems to play some of the toughest solos while looking like he is not even breaking a sweat.

    Totally agree.
The man is an amazing player. Those lip trills near the end prove it.

Very fine playing! Still, it doesn't stand up IMO to the original version by Derek Diffey and the Canadian Staff Band in terms of "pizazz" - and intonational accuracy by the soloist (though this ISB is clearly far superior to the 1974 CSB). After all the flat high D's, I was hoping the final Eb wouldn't be... Also, too bad the video is out of sync with the audio...
