These videos are always a pleasure and never a chore. When humanity reaches its final form; there will still be duct tape.

Many good projects are deceptively simple and effective. Thanks Anthony for once again showing us that movie magic can be as simple as tape and nail polish !

This is great! Simple and effective.
I just want to thank you again for all I have learned from your videos and the inspiration that just maybe I could do this. My short film is coming along great because of you. I can now really appreciate the amount of work that goes into filming, Especially the editing! I'll never watch a movie the same way again!

I don't know why, but this video came up in my feed today, probably because we do similar stuff. Nice build by the way, but what I wanted to comment on is the folk who complain about 3D printing.
Now I don't do much of this myself as I don't own such a machine, but I have a friend who does and he prints pieces out for me every now and then, largely because I just don't have the time to scratch build it myself as I'm busy working on the rest of the build.
They way that I see it is that it's a time saver and above all else, it's a tool. If you're going to complain about using a printer, then you may as well complain about using a saw, a rotary tool, sand paper or even a screwdriver. Besides that, short cuts and cost cutting measures have always been used in set dec and prop and model building - that's why we use greeblies; instant eye candy for the camera!

Great work, as usual. Very good suggestion for building props to serve a purpose without going overboard on details that don't need to stand out.

Great video! You can reduce the honeycomb 'pillowing' at 6:47 by increasing the number of "top layers" in your slicer. Might save some time on the bench 😁

I completely agree with you, it's usually the people who have never done anything who criticize everything 👍

    Love it, simple and quick!
When you put that thing in for the oxygen meter i had an idea to make it better!
If you make that box and the insert the right size for a smartphone you could slide that in and have a video running on it that has the meter thingy go down to red.
Idk, just came to my mind and thought of sharing incase somebody wants to make something similar for a movie or whatever! :)

Another great video. Have you discovered UV nail polishes? I love working with them because I can cure an area quickly and not end up smearing them. I've been using them and those nail foils that you can even get at the dollar store to customize things like guitar tuners and knobs.

I don't mind your 3D print videos. We use 3D printing to create most of our Astra Militarum props =)

Anthony, I know makers are getting asked all the time about the tools they use, but I have to ask.. you've mentioned 'wearing a mask' in nearly every video that involves paint or stuff that generates fumes. What kind of mask/respirators do you like when it comes to painting, grinding, and other stuff like that?

    • @createscifi
      @createscifi  8 месяцев назад +1

3M Performance Paint Project Respirator OV/P95 . The dust mask is one of those replaceable filter ones and has a large velcro band for the back of the head instead of ear bands. I think the brand is Base Camp

Indeed, space does seem like an unlikely place for dust. Thanks for pointing that out.

@@createscifi love your channel and how much you help the community. Once upon a time; a scientific sample broke open when the gravity machine was broken and it sent space dust everywhere ;)

For those of us who don't own 3D printers, couldn't you take apart an old calculator and have roughly the same thing?
