Just keep in mind, most of the AI enemies in this game can be avoided by either side stepping their attacks, or backing up. Usually you wanna side step archers and spears, and back up from swords. As well, make sure you go to the Squire Merchant and set up your default gear, that way you can get a free set of healing potions, bandages, and campfire, every single run. Lastly, obviously do quests if you can, but be especially sure to do the first quest for the Armorer, Blacksmith, Leatherworker, Tailor, and Woodsman. After you finish their 1st respective quests, new default gear will become available from the Squire. For example, if you do the Armorer's quest of turning in 6 Cobalt Ore (Which can be mined from the room with the lift in Goblin Caves), you can start every single new round afterwards decked out in full plate armor, for free. It's a really good investment.
