I always do the maze before I go fight Morokei. It just makes the becoming the Arch Mage thing feel a lil more... deserved. What they should have done is left the key to go fight Morokei inside the maze. Could have been in a journal Savos kept in his study, "After all this time I still can't get over what befell my fellow mages. To be sure that HE never gets out I shall hide it in Shalidor's Maze."... you know something like that... if I ever make a mod that's one I'll try to do.

That location gives you a shout and an unique item. So when you think you did everything in the game, check unique items list and shout list to see what is missing if that's the case.

Dremora Valkynaz is not a name. If you've played the previous Elder Scroll game, Oblivion, you will have come across Dremora a lot more than in Skyrim. They have a sort of rank system in place, with the rank being displayed as their "name". In Oblivion, there were, for example, the ranks of "Dremora Scourge", "Caitiff", "Kynreeve", "Kynmarcher", "Markynaz" and "Valkynaz" I think in that order. So Valkynaz are the highest ranking of the Dremora, nothing else
So long ago, don't even think you play the game anymore but a nice hint if you miss killing all the dremora bastards is installing the "Immersive Creatures" mod, it adds all kinds of dremora to random encounters around the world.
I'm surprised people missed this, even on my first playthrough on console I found this fight. Just goes to show how Bethesda rewards attentive players; always read those journals and notes people!
When I found this maze, I actually didn't know how to open the spikes so I climb up from where he viewed the maze from above then used the shout where a wind pushes me fast forward. It brought me in the middle of the maze and skipped all the walking and fighting but I didn't know what to do next
I really wish they had included this maze in the College's story line. Even as a side mention by the librarian in the Arcanaeum (I don't remember his name) it would have been cool.
It is not even a quest, it is some sort of hidden stuff. But if you check the list of shouts and the list of unique items you will see that something is missing and where you find it. You can do that at the end of the game when you think you did everything in the game.

Valkynaz isn't a name, its a dremora Rank/description. he's simply a leveled character. if you were a lower level that wouldn't be a dremora but instead it would be an OP Drauger. he is in the leveld list and can be summoned by the sanguine staff
i was so confused lol since i was a lvl 45 arch mage.So i just stood there for like a minute thinking i had to complete some conjuration quiz.Couldnt summon stuff.Decided they tickled me for too long shot two incinerate spells to the dremora and dead.I was like what.
For the restoration sigil you're supposed to use a Turn Undead spell just like the staff does, if you want it to work. If you don't then by all means try to heal the stone.

I was in that maze when I was quite a new player. There was a glitch where I fell into the bottom of the Skyrim map (I could see the while maze from underneath) and I couldn't fast travel for some reason. I hadn't done a save in ages so when I re-loaded to get out of the glitch I was miles away from the maze and never found my way back to it, haha :D
From the secret stuff that ESO still finds in skyrim, i can say that Fallout 4 will be filled with more secret stuff and Elder scrolls 6 will have MOAR secret stuff than Fallout 4!!
I definitely remember when i picked up the game years ago for the first time, soon after the bleak falls barrow quest I ended up in Labyrinthian and was hella scared and overwhelmed with the trolls haha
you know for asl long as i have played skyrim and as often as i visited the labyrinth i never actually been in the maze i just always assumed the main dungeon where you fight the skeletal dragon and get the staff of magnus was the maze so i never bothered to investigate further guess i was wrong
You hyped this boss battle up like it would be ebony warrior level but I killed him in a couple swings of my Warhammer and took not even half my health. And I'm only lv 42 at the time or writing on this playthrough. Edit: Also they definitely changed this over the years because the book by the skeleton wasn't there and the Dwarven shield was an iron one, and in a different place, maybe thats why the boss was easier than you were describing it to be for me, maybe he get harder as you level up but looking at you fighting him it seems you fighting him it seemed bratty close to my fight, my fight lasted about 15 seconds, including atronauches. Edit 2: just realized you may have said that based on my level they could be good or not, I did not take into consideration you're over 2 times my level...
It's incredible that so many people seem oblivious to the existence of mods and dlc for this game. I swear, half the comments on his videos are all "what was that (insert modded item)? I don't remember seeing that in the game" or "I've never seen (insert some feature from a dlc) before. Is it new?" or "does this work on ps3/Xbox?" To be fair, he doesn't do a very good job of explaining that he uses mods or that he's showing something from a dlc, but the questions about if something can also be done on console are just stupid.
It's actually a glitch that the Diadem can be found there. I'm pretty sure it's not there intentially because the game designers meant for you to do this maze in order to get it. Nonetheless, I went to Froki's shack to get the diadem as well for my spellblade lol

Because of my mods, I had a really fucking powerful Dremora in there, called Old Demon King, which just kept oneshotting me with some varient of fire storm, first time i had to cheat in any elder scroll game
I am only level 20 but I accidentally one shot the Dremora in oblivion so when I was teleported back there was only atronachs, so i never got to loot him

you know for asl long as i have played skyrim and as often as i visited the labyrinth i never actually been in the maze i just always assumed the main dungeon where you fight the skeletal dragon and get the staff of magnus was the maze so i never bothered to investigate further guess i was wrong

You missed a chest here. When you're on the walkway around the top of the maze, at 19:05, on your left is an alcove with a chest.

You hyped this boss battle up like it would be ebony warrior level but I killed him in a couple swings of my Warhammer and took not even half my health. And I'm only lv 42 at the time or writing on this playthrough.
Edit: Also they definitely changed this over the years because the book by the skeleton wasn't there and the Dwarven shield was an iron one, and in a different place, maybe thats why the boss was easier than you were describing it to be for me, maybe he get harder as you level up but looking at you fighting him it seems you fighting him it seemed bratty close to my fight, my fight lasted about 15 seconds, including atronauches.
Edit 2: just realized you may have said that based on my level they could be good or not, I did not take into consideration you're over 2 times my level...
Are you sure Daedric armor cannot be found? I found Daedric boots just recently
I assume between lvl 50 and 57(which my last character was). I found 2 unenchanted pieces in boss chests.
***** Here's an update: Found a Daedric Sword in a bosschest of a banditcamb on level 44.

It's incredible that so many people seem oblivious to the existence of mods and dlc for this game. I swear, half the comments on his videos are all "what was that (insert modded item)? I don't remember seeing that in the game" or "I've never seen (insert some feature from a dlc) before. Is it new?" or "does this work on ps3/Xbox?" To be fair, he doesn't do a very good job of explaining that he uses mods or that he's showing something from a dlc, but the questions about if something can also be done on console are just stupid.

It's actually a glitch that the Diadem can be found there. I'm pretty sure it's not there intentially because the game designers meant for you to do this maze in order to get it. Nonetheless, I went to Froki's shack to get the diadem as well for my spellblade lol

Suv-Ont because I don't speak dictionary language😂😂😂. Also, that Dremora does not have a name, that is there to indicate power level, like bandit, bandit outlaw, bandit plunderer, etc.
Because of my mods, I had a really fucking powerful Dremora in there, called Old Demon King, which just kept oneshotting me with some varient of fire storm, first time i had to cheat in any elder scroll game
