Camellyn Creations is an artist on Etsy that makes werepups as well. She is very nice and has answered every question I have asked. She replies to messages pretty fast I think the longest I had to wait for an answer was 2 days. I would recommend her if you are looking into getting other dolls like him. She makes more than just werepups too.
Mine is due to come for my bday in March :D "Ripley" was due in June this year, but Asia was lovely and promised to have her done for my bday! I was prepared for the 10 months + wait, but pleased I may be getting her early :D

I think her customers including yourself are being waaay too generous. I'm an artist and have sold in the past and I've often sided with fellow artists complaints about customers who have ridiculous expectations; wanting to pay next to nothing, under valuing items - 'cos to them hand made equates with Grans tea cosies in value... not to mention the family/friends scenario when everyone's like - hey make me that for my bday, mean while you can't remember any of them spending more than $30 on you let alone the $300 plus you'd get on market! HOWEVER 2 years is unacceptable! I got cancer and fell into depression and I still got my old orders out after an initial delay BECAUSE I stopped taking orders! I also kept in regular contact when I could and asked my mother to send information out once for me so my customers (who were AMAZING) at least knew the situation - it wasn't hard, she is taking advantage of her customers. I'm genuinely sorry this person lost her house and almost her partner but I think she needs to be made to STOP taking orders UNTIL she can fulfill her obligations in an acceptable manner. Talent is no excuse for continuing to mess people around for sooo long. If you can't do it, you apologize and refund what is A LOT of money for most people. I read further down someone waited 3 and a half years!!!!! And if you saw other orders placed later go out earlier - you can bet she was making them in order of who complained the most rather than who ordered first - disgraceful! Mushman you seem lovely and your review was more than fair - it is beautiful work, but personally I wouldn't be rewarding that level of unprofessionalism. :(

I am surprised that my review is the only one I have seen where I call her out, even a little, on some of the errors I experienced, and as an artist myself, I have continued to offer work during personal grievance or I simply stop offering work entirely until I am able to supply. No thankfully. I checked out her site recently because as you said her work is amazing. But I am SOOOO glad I saw your review because I WOULD have ordered one and I would have gone ballistic after a year - ok maybe 18 months Tops. I'd have been demanding money back and reporting her IF she was still taking orders. If I'd ordered I would have been more patient if she replied quickly, updated info on progress OFTEN etc cos that would make me think she at least knew it wasn't ok and was trying her best to catch up. But when you mentioned that she wasn't even doing that, it was a big red flag so seeing your review and reading others comment saved me A LOT of potential frustration and anger - I'll keep my eye out for other artists instead... I'm over two years into my wait for a Werepup X( She seems to be making a lot more in the past few weeks so hopefully she'll get to mine soon. I collect more mainstream ones as well, not just reborn styles - 'Pinkie Cooper' dolls are another example I have been known to collect. I might do a vid on them all as I want to collect more. Any news on your werepup order?
I've been waiting three and a half years for mine, without any updates on when it may be done, so I recently asked for a refund. They are coming out with blank vinyl kits soon, so I'd rather spend my money on that and make my own at this point.

thank you! I'm afraid I don't know anyone selling pre-owned pups, but there are kits out there from the maker, that people are customising now into their own pups. Sometimes they come up for sale on Instagram but they go super quick. If you follow the werepup hashtag you might find something on there :)
I chose to put aside some money each week so it took me about a year. This was mostly because I had other bigger things to put money toward! But a little but here and there was enough to save up for this guy. Especially as I only had to pay half up front :)
Gakman on etsy. You love wierd dolls go to him. He even has like characters of different cretures such as Ludo, from Labyrinth, and Falkcore the luck dragon, from The Never Ending Story. WHOOP WHOOP! They seem different t from reborns and even this as in his products he actually uses clay. Haven't had the chance to get one yet but i most likely will at some point if I can!
Hi! :D I ordered one about 6 months ago and I'm contemplating sending her an email asking for some sort of progress report and just to ask her if she think's he'll be ready this year or whatever. Good idea or nah? I'm somewhat apprehensive to send her emails because A) not good communication, as you mentioned and B) I don't want to seem pushy. I'm excited to get him and hopefully I won't have to wait 2 years! :O
Did she give you a rough estimate of how long it'd be when you ordered? Usually she has a rough ball park date. I would think 6 months is a little early, but if you have pack priority you can always drop her an email to ask when she might be roughly ready. It's only my experience I can speak for but you have to be patient. I'd push for an estimate though, if you haven't had one! Good luck :)

I will say, on the time limit thing, on her site it DOES say 10 + months...some could be done earlier, some could take longer... I know recently she's been through quite a bit of financial, personal traumas and her partner was in an accident...so maybe this is why the order are taking so long (and emails not answered)....if they are anything like my emails, sometimes they get sent straight to JUNK mail and you never see them...or that thing where you THINK you've replied to someone but actually haven't. Not making excuses because I don't know Asia and I have had communication issues as well... BUT again, we don't know what's happening in her life... Even so much as a family pet passing away can turn someone on their heads.... BUT yes, it would be nice if complications could be disclosed when they come up, or, your idea, of a list so you can see where you're up to...
I agree. It is very difficult to speak for an artist when they have personal problems and difficulties, and it would be wrong of me to make assumptions on anything in her life. But I do think however that in the case of personal problems, taking on new orders is somewhat unprofessional. In terms of emails, she does offer 'pack priority' emails to buyers, which imply to me they should be checking them - and their junk - more often, if they are indeed priority. But I ordered a while back. Their system may have changed entirely now.
I totally get that as well. If you're already swamped with orders, it's a little odd to be taking on more. Oh well, I suppose we'll just have to see whether Ripley gets here in March... hahaha Hope so.

I don't think I will ever sell him, he's very precious to me. I think the artist does sell kits though so sometimes people will custom them and sell them on - I'd check out instagram to see if anyone is selling werepups from the kits :)

i think clients get really confused when you let them customize things... if you give them three options they want every last detail of your art theyre paying you to make

Though if she struggles with custom it would make more sense for her to sell them as they are, people would definitely still buy them.

I agree, the wait time is fine, as long as it is what they stick to. Unfortunately sometimes it's a rough estimate, and I think for a client, it needs to be more accurate. I hear a lot of people upset with this maker because when they say it will be a year it has since become three or more...which is not really ideal. For the price though, I think the price could actually be much higher, he's a beautiful doll.

It's really a personal decision. I waited for about six months before I ordered at all, just to save up and be sure I wanted it :)
If you are not sure you will want it in two years, then dont buy one and waste the Artist's time.
