Make trade deals with New Zealand,UK , EU ,MERCSOUR , SACU , Eurasian union,GCC,Mexico,Canada and also upgrade trade treaties with Japan,S Korea, Singapore, Australia,Indonesia,Malaysia , Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand , etc . Then go to USA for market access and trade. By then the Indian negotiating team will have enough market access and economies of scale to deal with America.

I wonder if it would be actually a good idea, to pay all our imports, esp oil, in Chinese Yuan, instead of USD. I say this, because we need to save USD reserves anyway, and Trump's policies might lead to higher interest rates in US, that could cause dollar outflows from India. And buying more Yuan could make the Yuan stronger vis-a-vis INR, and make Chinese imports, expensive for Indians. Thereby, protecting our industry.
