I have the MP1 version of this keyboard which is the same everything but with a thermal printer hence the "MP" in the model meaning music printer. Gotta love the classics!!
Just trying to help out everybody. Translation from Russian; "Apparently this synthesizer was used by Viktor Babushkin in the m / s "Just you wait" in the 15th issue." I dunno. Never heard of that mini series yet, but interesting.
I guess the PC-100 is having a bit of a moment. Two of these have shown up this week in the local classifieds and now this video. I have one of these, but sadly, none of the cards. I've always wondered if the songs are already preloaded on the chip and the bar code simply activates them or if the bar cod is actually the code for the sequence. If it's the latter, I wonder if there is a way to print one's own sequences on to cards. That would be cool. Thanks for the video.
version with the printer is Yamaha MP-1. I'm also not sure if the code activate it or is it in internal memory (there was a Casio who worked like that - Cards only activate certain combination of slots)
It seems like the song would be too much memory for a card, but also it seems like ALL the songs would be too much memory for the keyboard. My money's on the card, I guess there'd be a kilobyte or two available on that length of magnetic tape.
I have it, love the case (all of the small keyboards should have one, so practical) and the 20playcards, it works well. One bad thing about the case - it don't have place for the AC/DC adapter. Sound is nice, but the vibrato button is missing.
@@gearfactsI think they mean a place to store the adapter (incl cord) in the case when you close it. That would make the case bulkier, cord would be hard to contain, and you might just prefer to use batteries anyway.
Cute little 1982 vintage keyboard, but definitely won't fit in our music. Ya want a challenging little synth? Check out the Sonicware LIVEN XFM Synthesizer, but be careful cause they were around $200USD and I now see them used selling for the "new" pricing and above. They seem to be selling very well, to the point of almost becoming hard to find at a good price. We got one, but it's been sitting in the box cause we don't have the time to mess with it yet. It's the same story with our Studiologic Sledge and the Arturia Microfreak synth. It gets very confusing and overwhelming when ya have a lot of synths and a bunch of song ideas at the same time!
Ooh you read my mind - I’ve been looking very closely at the 8-bit percussion version of the Liven. Can’t seem to find it here… love the 8-bit pnchiness of it. The search continues.
@@gearfacts I would also like to test the XFM with a MIDI keyboard. There is no mention anywhere in the manual about it and I only found one comment where somebody actually used a MIDI keyboard on it. Good luck!
Pc100 Yamaha is one of the best board But the keys are small I purchased on 1989 from Columbus Sri Lanka Still good condition no I am playing with Yamaha I500.

Hi gearfacts I hope you make a Casio WK 240 keyboard video soon
Never saw this one before !
I think Yamaha went a bit overboard with bringing card-reader technology to the masses here :D
@@gearfacts I agree the keyboard itself is cool but it seems most if not all of the card reading keyboard technology was a bit lame !
Great showcase!
Видимо этот синтезатор использовал Виктор Бабушкин в м\с "Ну погоди" в 15м выпуске.

That's weird, my case has a perfect slot for the power adapter. Not when it's closed though, the hole gets covered up.
