NubRusty I don’t think this is necessary true. Stax players are actually required to think quite a lot in order to sequence correctly and win a game. This player obviously did not, but he doesn’t represent Stax players as a whole. I will say that playing Stax in casual edh is strange, but maybe this playgroup has decided it’s ok
@@NubRusty I play a staxy Jhoira deck, but I never bring out my Winter Orb unless I know that it'll win me the game with my boardstate. I would never play it just to slow down the game early.
Hey Muddstah, just wanted to say thank you for how consistent you are with your upload schedule. I always know I can count on some generic goblin noise at 11 on Monday and Thursday.
Loved the performance of the Thassa deck. Pretty pleased with the Sovereign win though. He was just sitting there, unable to do anything because stax, stealing, and whatever nonsense Kenrith had going on, but came back in such a weird but satisfying way.
Hmm, good to remember Thalia makes Non-Basic Lands enter tapped, so a number of people had an extra mana on a few turns... lookin' at you Scavenger Grounds/Exotic Orchard. (maybe more, still watching.) Either way, lover your videos, they're still great fun.
I think this group isn't used to playing a number of the cards that were in this match. That's a lot of etb and static effects they weren't tracking properly.
It's just sad that the Kenrith player coundn't see his (almost certain) win at the end. He could reanimate the Linvala (fulfilling his promisse) and in response to that gained enough life to kill the Sisay player and reduce the Heliod's life just enough so the sovereign didn't win the game on that turn.
@@CaioRCS There were a few points during the game where I was questioning the Kenrith player. I have a downright nasty Kenrith deck and I saw multiple chances to win or severely hamstring the rest of the table.
I really like that Thassa deck. Seems fun and interactive! Although the deck does seem fun as well to pilot, I think this game proves why I dislike Kenrith so much, though. What doesn't he do? He's got too many abilities with no focus really. I miss the old, simpler commanders. :/ Always love and appreciate the content!
Kenrith & Seedborne Muse work so well together. I won a 6P game with those two, going through my deck super quick every turn and gaining life to keep me safe when I looked for the Vigean Graftmage(Grabbed an entomb with a draw, put VG to the yard and then pulled it back) and the Incubation Druid(was already on the field)combo and milled all 5 players out.
This was a fascinating game to watch, at some point or other in the game, it feels like each player could win it and there is some great interaction from all!
Very solid game! The interaction was awesome to watch and man was that Thassa deck amazing with the value you kept getting from blinking. I can't say I've ever seen a Sisay stax deck but it was very interesting. Thanks for the quality content!
I’m just surprised you didn’t steal the homeward path with the agent of treachery triggers. Could’ve continued stealing permanents without worrying they’d get returned and then you’re in such a dominant position to win
@@Someone-lg6di Homeward Path is so sneaky. I've had a game where I was playing it myself and didn't realize at first that I had it and could use it to get my stuff back. Abilities on lands are really easy to miss, especially one with a rather niche effect.

I fucking slapped my head when the sisay player recast the winter orb when kenrith was not only the major threat, but had a seedborn muse on board. He straight up handed kenrith the win.
He didn’t take Elesh back before playing it, so yes. It’s a state-based effect, which can’t be responded to. It resolved, he got the etb, but it entered as a 0/0. I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t be able to use Homeward Path in response to Solemn being a 0/0 and save it. He could do it in response to Solemn’s death trigger, but not in response to the state-based effect. Solemn dies, he gets Elesh Norn back, then draws a card. If he did it in that order.
Man, what a great game, specially the winter orb reaction. Seriously though, Kenrith isn't quite Golos, but he is certainly certified *all kinds of lame.*
Okay, Martin just randomly winning with Felidar Sovereign was not AT ALL what I expected. Every other player is doing crazy shit for most of the game, and here's the mono-White player durdling and was apparently either totally overlooked at the right time or his opponents just had no interaction at the wrong time. Maybe i need to pick him up and build a deck arround him in the near future. All in all a really nice game. Enjoyed watching it a lot.
14:00 i think you have 2 seedborn muses, they should give you two untap triggers. unfortunately linvala is keeping you from using kenrith to do anything with it... but speaking of which, if you targeted Mom and Linvala he could only protect one of them. if he protects mom then you can steal linvala and he can't use mom anymore. if he protects linvala then you can steal mom and then steal linvala on the next go around.
