On one side we say that the Nox emission is lower in GA engine because the peak pressures are not as high but on the other hand we say that it follows OTTO cycle where the heat addition is at constant volume. Heat addition at constant volume should mean that complete gas mixture should ignite sponteneously at TDC (Constant volume)- if this happens, the peak pressure should be higher?
Peak pressure is purposely reduced due to fear of pre ignition and hence power limitation. If ECR is fitted peak pressure in the engine design can be brought up futher.
