I may be kind of drunk, but the nostalgia of that old OPL sound chip, the soundblaster pro in my case, is bringing back memories that I had long forgotten. It's like I'm 13 again, sitting and watching my dad kill a lich or something. My dad loved this game so much that at one point, he set up a script to start Arena every time you turned on the computer. Thanks for doing this man. I liked this game too, but not as much as he did. RIP dad, love ya!
Does it count if I found about it 20 years after its launch? Back then, I mostly played car games, and so never found it. The laptop that I had played this game (NOT finished, as I had little time 2 years ago) actually stuttered. By emulating a DOS game. A laptop from 2011, and not a specifically weak one from then, too! I wish I could get to play this on actual hardware that it was supposed to run on, so I could get the best experience, but for now, at least, I won't be doing that.
This Soundtrack creates an atmosphere that the rest of the saga fails to match. In my opinion, i love the essence of mistery and magic that Arena had. Trully unique, buggy and messy, but unique and exotic.
@@velhlar4557 lmao are you trying to be clever? You realize that being clever is something a woman does and is indicative of being a low t brainlet. Maybe try weightlifting. I’ve been listening to dungeon synth over the past couple months. I always imagined the genre having a specific sound but I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. I couldn’t find the sound that I was looking for. Then I remembered the soundtrack to this game from when I played it when I was young. This is everything that dungeon synth should be. I wish more people tried to emulate this sound but it would be really hard to do. It’s actually pretty detailed and complex imo.
I don't know why but I love 13: A Warm Welcome. It just fills me with such energy and joy. I think think this is second only to Morrowind's Nerevar Rising theme to me.
While I do agree with you, back when this game launched, 3d was an impressive thing. I can't think of a 3d game that has aged really well from back then, but no-matter the time you play this game at, there is no reason to compare it to modern games, as it would obviously lose in most things, except maybe the story, which I can't really tell much, as I haven't finished this game, and maybe the music, which depending on the soundcard used, can sound beautiful by modern standards. (Not that the game's music doesn't sound good no-matter what, just that many people don't like the sound of these old sound cards)
Thank you for the upload. :) I recently started playing Arena. My first Elder Scrolls game was Skyrim, which I played solidly for at least two years. Then I moved on to Elder Scrolls Online, which I still play today, and have been playing for almost four years on PS4. Also, I noticed in the description you recorded this using Audacity. I used to use Audacity to record my electronic music DJ mixes when I was playing vinyl and CDs. I've been taking a break here and there from DJing for almost two years now. I used to have a soundcloud and mixcloud account, but deleted them both earlier this year since I've been spending most of my free time with gaming and haven't had any interest in DJing. I hit 20 years with DJing in 2019. A close friend of mine is an electronic music producer and we're going to start collaborating with production starting next year. Going to start a fresh soundcloud page once we get things rolling. ;) --(Formerly known as) DJ Meghan

I can say myself, that with all of the possible soundcards from back then, it can really be hard to find the right version of the music of a dos game, especially when the game isn't that popular.
This version feels much better and classic than the remastered one, it has Arena's true essence and even tough it's quite different from the new games music i think it's a really good OST

From my experience, my version of Daggerfall doesn't have different music than the soundtracks others have already posted online. I uploaded Arena because I couldn't find anything similar to what I heard when I played it. Much of what you hear in Arena was used in Daggerfall anyways, just at a higher resolution.
Unfortunately, I'm not exaclty sure how to do that. I recorded this audio using audacity straight from the gameplay and edited it in Adobe Audition. As far as making thr midi files sound EXACLTY like they do in my dosbox, I'm not sure.
4. A Vision Beyond - 5:25 has the death screen/vision music if that is what you are referring to. There is also an extended version at the end (21. Game Over [Bonus Track] - 39:40)

Just beat this game a few days ago. It feels amazing to be a part of gaming history, but by all accounts, this game is garbage. It did not age well at all. That being said, I actually prefer this game's control scheme to Daggerfall for some reason😂
Daggerfall's controls were way more customizable and way ahead of their time, adding the ability to point the first person camera by moving your mouse (though it is not the default setting). This is now the standard in first person games.
