The Classified back pack actually mounts upside down compared to the vintage one. The design team got it wrong. The hose is supposed to attach to the bottom. As it is, the hose doesn't have enough length. If you turn it around on the Classified figure, the pack sets too high. I modified my Classified back pack so that it mounts correctly. The vintage figure came with two hoses.
The more I look at it, the more the backpack seems okay handle-side-up. It's a little high, but not nearly as bad as I first thought. Plus, he could actually reach his tools.
It really is astonishing how much the “Design Team” gets wrong. Lenny professes to be a fan but it really makes me wonder if they even look at the vintage toys when they are designing this stuff. Their decisions are truly baffling sometimes.
I wouldn't say "gets wrong", I would say "makes choices that some customers don't agree with". And come on, man - get out of here with that "professes to be a fan" stuff. 1) The dude obviously loves GI Joe 2) Gatekeeper mentalities ruin everything We may not all agree with everything - you know I can't stand those knees - but questioning someone's fandom is bogus.
@@NeedlessThings Yes, Lenny loves GI Joe. Overall, the team has done a tremendous job with this line. I seldom agree with most of the complaints people have against the Classified line. However, I only collect vintage A Real American Hero and Classified. So I have nothing else to compare the Classified stuff to, but it seems like a great line to me. To be honest, I shouldn't have said the design team got it wrong, because I honestly don't know when it happened. There's a lot of folks involved in the process. Either way, it was an easy thing for me to alter.
I got all of the figures from this wave weeks ago from Amazon. My TV has the loose torso like Firefly. I wish there was a fix for this.
I've got three and they're all fine. Meanwhile my Airborne has a ridiculously loose helmet, but most other people's seem fine.
@@NeedlessThings hmm I might return it and see if a replacement is better. Tired of all of the QC issues.

@@NeedlessThings so by your rationale it’s ok to let these kinds of mistakes keep slipping through the cracks and go unchecked. Noted.
