It's nice to see Italian games get some coverage since not many come out and even fewer get discovered.
I am so hyped for this game.
Man people are so negative. No one said this was a masterpiece, its no lies of p and certainly not a fromsoft game, but it has great art and design and a soul. For me its a good thing to believe in and support small studios with passion, they might surprise us. Your are a great youtuber for always trying things out myth!
The new souls-like Dark Souls 1 Randomizer is actually amazing too, you should check it out!
This has alot of potential the view in some places were great and the system is not bad if they work on a few things it could become amazing

Honestly, the trailer looked amazing but was kind of letdown by the demo itself. Hoping they add a bit more visceral cutscenes and cool stuff like how it looked in the trailer, otherwise I feel like it'll lose traction at release too fast.

how about short series or video on Duke Nukem 3d or maybe it's more recent analogue and spirit succesor Ion Fury? I just played Ion Fury and cultic and I'm having a complete blast. Feels good blasting your way up and finding a secret weapon in arcade machine.
I’m kind of getting tired of all the “souls-like” games. This one in particular looks great but it’s the same mechanics I’ve seen a dozen times by now. I hope it does well regardless, it looks like it was made with lots of love

honestly, I dont like it. the setting is bland, the combat didnt look good at all, the enemies also didnt look good. hit box is all over the place. but i guess we will see how the game perform when it release. personally im not betting any money on it

This game is going to be 🔥 They have a few things to clean up but the demo has been patched several times based on player feedback. The build diversity is great and lots of crazy build potential

I enjoyed the game up to a point, but I was having response issues with the parry system for a good chunk of the game. Honestly the game reminds me a lot more of Mortal Shell than anything. The parrying and the class swap system both, seems like an evolution of those
The gameplay is so much faster paced though. Mortal Shell was SO SLOW, I couldn't stand it.

I liked the Demo for the best part, but i had a lot of issues with not been able to jump from time to time or the parry not working. As well I think you missed the lower beach area before dimensional bridge.
I finished it and it was decent enough but it definitely needs more work the balance especially is all over the place

Funny you should mention a Crit-Heavy Ultra Build. That's sorta what I ended up doing and a +6 Thyrus Slayer, this games "I can't believe it's not The Dragonslayer from Berserk" hits for 4K+ on a Riposte.
Also if you want to make the Ultras work in this game then your standard combo is Heavy Attack->Light Attack and repeat. The Heavy followed by Light connect extremely fast and hit hard, the Heavy should help you poise through most attacks and it should stagger most enemies. Even if it doesn't, the Light Attack followup will probably break their posture.
Fkin hell that one parry ended that boss man career, so devastating... Coming from Neoh 2 where bosses laugh at you if you try that shit.
Man Nioh 2 to me is still far and above any soulslike in terms of combat, its almost singlehandedly ruined the genre for me because of how good it is
@@bobitogre Oh yeah, i'm with you. Once you actually put the effort to learn the many....oh so many things that game offers you can't really return to a normal soulslike game. It's just miles ahead.
@@Shadow86TheGamer Pretty much only another Team Ninja soulslike was able to come close to its combat depth (Stranger of Paradise) imo. I can still appreciate and enjoy other soulslike games like Sekiro for its rhythm style combat and Elden Ring for its world and exploration for example, but when I see newer soulslike games like this, I just can't get excited over its combat unless it does smth really different or very in deep like Nioh was
@@bobitogre I mean, they really do have to come up with some stuff to top off stance changing, ki pulsing, like 10 weapons to master each with ridiculous combo potential and even hidden skills to find for each, absurd amount of builds potential and gear grinding. There's nothing quite like it, yet.
@@Shadow86TheGamer Hahaha true, can't argue with that at all. Ki pulsing is one of my favorite gaming mechanics of all time. I'm not a jaded person and I think we're in a great period for gaming but I think at this point the only thing that might make me really happy abt a soulslike again is just Nioh 3 lmao

It is the game studios first game from what I can see, and I’d say for a first game it’s quite impressive.
To each their own. Everyone calls Lies of P a masterpiece and I felt like it was clunky as all get out.

The guy in the beginning was named Pulcinella which might just be a coincidence but if it's not that means they definitely took inspiration from Lies of P. I'm always happy to see more 3D souls-likes, especially the ones that choose to implement good gameplay mechanics from previous titles.
Pulcinella is a character from the Italian ballet of the same name from 1700. So while other things may be inspired by Lies of P this specifically is a case of them both being inspired by the same source material.
Well Pulcinella, together with others like Arlecchino, Scaramuccia, Tartaglia etc, is a character in a form of italian comedic theater/folklore where characters with a specific outfit and mask would act out various scenes (this is actually the foundation of Enotria, hence the protagonist being "maskless"), so it might just be that both enotria and lies of P picked that name due to the connections with this theater thing. Btw pinocchio was an italian kids book from the 1880s.
The demo was just trash
It's interesting but sadly not really amazing. The visuals are lacking and definitely need more polish (although artistically it's very nice). I feel like the game might be a bit too contrasted and saturated. Those might be Mythy's badly chosen settings though.
Also, animations are definitely a bit stiff, the effects are a bit shallow and cheap looking and there is no impact behind hits, either audio wise or visual wise. The game needs at least 6 more months in the oven, maybe even a year, listening to player feedback.

Yeah, sorry, but the combat in this demo felt terrible. The timing on parry and dodge are odd, no parry or dodge cancelling, animations are janky and take too long, and there's just not a good flow/rhythm. The art direction and level design are great though, so I hope they can polish it up a little more. Add the stutter issues in, and this game is in a rough state. I'm guessing this will be another Lords of the Fallen situation where maybe in a year we'll get a 1.5 update with better combat mechanics
So far every single UE5 game I have played has had terrible performance issues at launch. That engine just doesn't run well.
@@SkenjinI think once that can figure out how to optimize it really well it will start to really shine. Definitely a good looking engine.
@@Skenjin It really doesn’t. These Korean studios are smart. Lies of P and Stellar Blade were both UE4 and they look and perform great. Studios are adopting UE5 too quickly and haven’t fully learned how to use it yet
@@ChuckBrailsford Graphically it feels only like a slight upgrade to me (I dont have the highest end setup) but with a massive downgrade in its performance.
