By the looks of it, 110 miles won't be a problem! Funny really, I recently got the military record card for mine and it spent it's time in service with Bristol OTC.
Dear Matthew, your video gives a lovely impression of life inside... How do you cope with a dynamo as opposed to an alternator? How far can you travel with all lights on and windscreen wiper slowly traversing your windscreen before your battery gives up? Lucas being the Prince of Darkness...
Hello. I've honestly never found it to be a problem. The only thing I do to help is turn off the headlights if I get stuck in any prolonged traffic jams at night. I also fitted the biggest battery I could fit into the slot. I once didn't touch it for around four months and it started first time despite all the cobwebs. : )
Nice old Land Rover we did have a 88 series 3 it was great
That goes very well - very quiet transmission!
Like the overdrive too, sorry I hadn't spotted this sooner.
Phill.
Thanks! I recently moved to Bristol so I'm going to have to drive it 110 miles from where it is to where it needs to be. Should be fun. : )

Nice we have a one 88 inch petrol it’s nice
I know this may seem far fetched, but the series 1 reminds me of the Suzuki Jimny Gen 3 if that makes sense?
Didn't see first gear being used too often from a standing start.
I only find I need first gear to start on big hills or if I've got all the seats full of people.

You start in second? Never heard that before.

Is that the dynamo warning light illuminating at tickover? Surely not oil pressure warning??
You're correct. Dynamo warning light. My oil pressure is perfect as my engine was fully rebuilt by Cox and Turner Engineering in 2000.
