First time making sayur lodeh and this recipe is amazing!! Truly easy to follow and very clear cut instructions. I did some adjustments based on my taste liking but otherwise, it tastes amazing! This will be my go to recipe from now on.
Thank you for the video. I made it and turned out great. I also used choyote, squash like veg. And I could suggest, perhaps cut the veggies and tofu into bite pieces.
Hi Roland & Jamie, I have made your Super Easy sambal recipe, it was great! May i know can i use the sambal in this dish? If can, For 2pax, how many TB should i use?
Hi XiaoLe. Thank you so much for using our recipe. We are so happy to know that you enjoyed it. Unfortunately that recipe will not be suitable for lontong as it taste rather different. We cooked this dish for 4 pax. You can half the ingredients used in this recipe. Hope this helps. Happy cooking!

If I don’t have candlenut, will walnut make a good substitute? I don’t have curry powder too. Out of Japanese curry powder, fennel powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam marsala powder, which will be more suitable as a substitute

Hi Roland, your recipe looks much simpler than my Nonya version so I look forward to trying it out soon. Tks Jamie for writing up the Recipe so clearly and easy to follow. Are you going to show us how to make beef rendang anytime soon? It takes such a long time to cook (and keeps sticking to pan) I’m wondering how would you tackle this popular dish?
