Thank you for giving us this amazing message on our ways. Personally, I found a lot of confidence in the freedom of Jazz singing, because I experienced the Jazz community as extremely encouraging towards a free, improvisational and grounded spirit, contrasting the huge "elite-thinking"-issue in many classicaly focussed and conservative aproaches of learning (ofcourse elitism exists everywhere but in my opinion the philosophy of a genre/style can have a big impact on the way of thinking while you sing). So I think it helps massively to have people around you who encourage you to build that confidence in addition to affirmations and similar techniques.
