I’m glad you mentioned the smell; I literally came to this video looking to see if your sample was smelly too. I thought it smelled a little “damp”, and worried it was a moldy smell. 😭 But hopefully not!
I don't think it is a mold smell. Usually moldy inks have a bit more of a fungus/earthy/mushroom smell to me. I think the smell is from one of the dye elements!
Some others who reviewed this thought the base ink was purple and so I pulled my bottle back out to load up a pen. I had a mishap and it ended up all over my fingers, which I confirmed, yes, the ink was indeed blue! LOL However, the sheen still looks red to me, even on your sceen and in my swatches/writing. I don't see a purple sheen at all.
It smells like some blue inks I've got, and also a blue hair dye that I've used! Makes me wonder if it's a blue ingredient! Love this one, and vibe too. It reminds me of Sargasso Sea from Diamine, which is similar dark blue butb that has a golden bronze sheen in big swatches.
I’m not a sheen fan, especially since blue with red is so prevalent…but a purple sheen on blue ink does sound beautiful. Can’t believe this is almost over. What will I do with my mornings now? lol
If it's pretty it doesn't translate through screens. Diamine didn't put in much blue so I can't be mad but this notion that blue can be a special ink color doesn't manifest in me, especially since on my screen it looks a lot like Polar Glow. Also, until sheen doesn't guarantee smearing that will ruin art and letters I won't be able to consider it a worthwhile quality instead of an initially cute side effect. Sheen has ruined tons of brilliant art of mine unfortunately. When I mail a postcard I understand rain might interfere, but the few times I sent anyone art with sheen it just got people very upset because the still dry card looked awful by arrival and yet still stained the hands of everyone who touched them.
this one is pretty but I coulnt put my pen down for 10 seconds without having it hard start which was really annoying I had to redip every time maybe in a wetter pen it would be fine :)
I really wanted another extreme sheen but i did not want a blue 😅 I am only doing the Diamine inkvent so I dont have as many blues but my memory is telling me its similar to may favourite blue sheener, Simoun by Trouble maker.. i will have to conpare after work, but if it dries better than Simoun then maybe I have a new favorite. My midnight blue by Diamine also has that smell, I wonder what it 🤔
I am supposed to have this one and Vibe in the same calendar but I think vibe is bit more teal. Still a fun color! I hope it behaves okay and doesn't smear.
@mydandeliondiaries i don't know，now that I've been writing with it for a day this also seems a bit smeary, but vibe is also more smeary than grotto or sleigh ride, which have been behaving surprisingly well. Maybe it's something in the blue ink that makes it want to smear 🤔
I am surprised at how many sheening we have in this calendar. Especially for a "new" label. I think last year had a lot of shimmer and people complained so now we get sheen haha.
This one tops the last heavy sheener and gets on my list 💎

I think it may be more purple on some papers. I think the sheen looks purple to me because the blue is so dark? I don't know haha.
Yes, paper will definitely swing a color and blue mixed with red makes purple.
