If you preach that repent means to turn from sins then you are preaching to turn to the law. You are wrong to do so. Not only are you a hypocrite you're also unsaved being unjustified and still under condemnation and will be judged guilty. No flesh shall be justified by the deeds of the law. The law declares us guilty and points us to Christ our redeemer. Romans 4:3-8 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin. Acts 16:30-31 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. The only thing man can do is the only thing man must do, believe faith trust (synonymous) in Jesus Christ. He already told her He didn't condemn her undoubtedly she would have sinned again one way or another as we all do if we are honest. We have to admit to ourselves that sin is a condition of the flesh which is why we need to trust our Lord and Saviour. Isaiah tells us that we are all an unclean thing and it's because of the flesh punishment since the fall. Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. 2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. Faith alone is counted for righteousness.
