The Auchmar Estate is considered to be the last surviving country estate on Hamilton Mountain. It was built for the Honourable Isaac Buchanan, a local Scotsman, entrepreneur, politician and civic leader in 19th-century Canada. This Gothic revival manor house is quite unique and beautiful.

This is a unique home, a shame they let it get so bad, but glad to see they're redoing it. I love this stuff. thanks Kelsey.

I know! I was surprised that it looks so bad especially the walls...but I heard actually in the past few years much has been done: the garden walls were repaired, the exterior painted and much of the internal items stripped away all in the effort to preserve and restore the iconic house.
