The fact it went wrong but you still managed to find a place that you are happy with is actually the best result. Gives me confidence that I can easily find lots of good places on Airbnb.
Great video. Airbnb were proactive in refunding me when the situation started. 100% will always use them for future stays. Ive had to cancel 8 holidays so far. Looking forward to visiting thailand again next year
I have stayed in 75 places in 17 countries with AIR over the last eleven years and a few have been in Thailand. Since I plan to come to Thailand in mid January I have been looking at various places on AIR. My first AIR unit in Bangkok was actually in the Omni Tower in 2015. However, I did not care for it much, mainly due to a heavy profusion of Arabs and middle easterners who stay there. Perhaps, with Covid that has changed but it felt sometimes uncomfortable. Also, your comments about all the hassles about Soi 4 is quite accurate and good to see you mention it. Soi 4 is def. not for everybody! I recognize the AIR place with the orange bedspread and two beds and one I have been considering so I will look to see how you like it after your week stay. BTW: the bed in the living room is a Murphy bed and it folds into the wall giving you quite a bit more space. The pool looks nice too. It’s a good point about booking right before you need a place. Also, I think the Ekkamai and On Nut area seems to offer more economical stays and there are quite a few night life options there as well - more local than tourist. Since I am required to quarantine for the first night, I will prob wait to my arrival to book a longer stay. More than likely, I will stay at the Adelphi Suites on Soi 8 for my quarantine. They have special deals going on too so may stay several days while I shop around for a place.
I know this is an older video of yours but just happened to come upon it when doing research for air BnB in Bangkok for when I’ll be there in a few months and finding a great deal. I’ll be there for 3 months just debating whether to do a week at a time or several weeks at a time. Thanks for the info!
I never thought about using airbnb always just got hotel's that are so expensive compared to what's on airbnb. 1 night at a hotel could have got me over a weeks stay with airbnb 😵. Will know for next time thanks.
Hey! I’m booking my trip to Thailand soon! Your videos are definitely helping me plan my trip! Probably going to book like this for my 2 months im there!
Hoping to go to Thailand in December with my girlfriend to look into some business ideas then we are hoping to move there, enjoyed the video, nice place, checked out air bnb's but will probably end up bouncing around hotels haaa
If anybody think its easy to do a video a day THINK again its damn hard and why most RUclipsrs don't do it. Gotta give him Kudos for keeping it going. Good work keep grinding
@@fortunefavoursthebrave.7898 yeah i have to disagree about it not being a job. Its very much a job just one most doing it enjoy. But to make one video can take you 8 to 16 or more hours to produce from planning, recording, editing and posting. Its definitely a job.
@@fortunefavoursthebrave.7898 LMAO 🤣 😂 shidddddddd try it seriously. I bet you 90% of people that do it for a living will tell you its a job and not just a hobby. Some are hobbies like my channels are just a hobby but when you only do youtube to pay bills and provide meals its definitely NOT a hobby IMO.
just wondering, if there is any safebox in any of the airbnb units you have stayed in? and is it guest friendly? meaning you can bring friends over unlike some hotels where they charge you some fees if you bring a companion back
You don't have to pay to bring guests back, they don't even need to sign in which is nice. Not many of them have a safe, I think you can filter that in your search on Airbnb though
11:35: 87 USD per week (roughly 12 USD per day) 13:07: 125 USd per week now which is 17.86 USD per day. So the price actually went 5 USD/day up and not only 1 USD. What am I missing here?
The whole idea of the video was to get an amazing deal and he ended up paying even more than he was planning/showing. Some people know how to fool viewers :(
5:29 he's talking about the prices in the new area he is going. dropping from 130 - 140 a week to 110 and up. As this is nowhere near the 80ish dollars a week, we can assume that the new place (or two) that got cancelled was in and around that price range. We can also assume when he says 125 a week is a dollar more, he would be referring to the previous 2 bookings and not the 12 / night one. Not everyone is trying to screw you over. and if these few tips and examples he showed you wasn't an amazing deal at less than $20 a night for a well appointed condo, i'm sure there are other options that will satisfy you and your price range.
Can you help. Do you book in Usd for simplicity or does it give best rates. I ask as would Thai bht or UK pounds work out at different rates. I hope to return to Thailand and can use Uk pounds or Thai bhat. Thanks
Prices will rise after Thailand re-opens - it is a renters market right now - the landlord is a pricetaker not a pricemaker at the moment. Anyways - enjoy it while it lasts. I've gotten accommodation in Chiang Mai many times by just walking into a building that I like the look off and asking the concierge if they have rooms - don't know if that approach would work in Bangkok but I don't see why not. Anyways Airbnb is easier then searching on foot.
Yeah, I have done that too, it's actually the best way to find an apartment here at the moment. Definitely a great time to lock in some good rental deals!
Hotels or guesthouses are much more expensive in these days in Bangkok than Air bnb? What about cleaning do you have to clean the appartments too or is it included in the rate?
Just found your RUclips channel and thank you for your great videos. I'm living here in Thailand two years and single / traveling. I know the areas that you been staying at. I was staying honey house #1 a old small hotel over across from Holiday Inn on soi 22 off sukhumvit. Just down the street from the old Queens Park Plaza that they demo mode? There were probably 30 plus bars in there. Honey House 1 I was playing $ 30 only staying one night and a Time. I Didn't know about how to get the deals such as you're showing on your videos I never used a hotel booking website and is it called A B&B ? And you need to have them locking your credit card or can you use your ATM debit card? And do they hold and keep your card on file? Is it safe and no chance of being scammed for identity theft? Thank you.
Airbnb is the app. Probably one of the safest and most reliable booking sites these days. I have my bank card on file there, you don't need to worry about any theft. As I mentioned in this video I was refunded when everything went wrong and all was taken care of :)
