Yes, it is rated for saltwater. Big thing I noticed fishing the salt for many, many years, is that no matter how good of a rating gear is for salt, salt will always win if you don't take care of your tools. Even submarines will eventually take a poop if not serviced. Just some food for thought. I do a good rinse with cold water from the garden hose, prefer a high pressure to blast it for a good solid minute or 2, get all up in it. It should be good to go for a very long time.
