I made a similar tray/stand for a tablet that has been in constant use for the past decade. I also started with slots in a piece of wood to be able to adjust the angle, but after the second time that the stand crashed to the floor, I did away with hinges and moving parts and permanently affixed a grooved board at a 90° angle to the center of the back of the stand and contrary to all expectations that was the perfect hack. I have observed several people take the tablet affixed to the stand in order to look at something while seated and automatically place it on their leg in the perfect viewing angle.
Fantastic work! This channel should have many more subscribers. I really enjoyed the way you worked Shaper Origin into the build. Thank you for sharing.
Really cool project! I’m getting my SO soon and look forward to design and creating some unique projects. Thanks for making these videos, helps solidify the purchase decision
You're right, in hindsight, I probably could have used Workstation+Origin for that as well. Although I would have needed to chisel the rounded corners (made by the cutter) into clean 90° corners.
@@BodgedButWorks I have found plenty of videos of dovetail joints being made with the Shaper that fit like a glove without using chisels. I think it depends on the bit, I do not own a Shaper myself but would love get one maybe in the future. The one draw back is the cost of the tape and how disposable it is

Nice, sounds like you found the ideal angle there...patent pending? 😉

You
think
so?
Why use a chisel? Surely Shaper could do it? End product is great though
