In this video, I'm going to share how I am setting up my new Erin Condren life planner. This video will also cover my recommendations on what type of supplies to use, what elements I am adding to my planner, and some tricks too start your planner before it "officially" starts.

I love how you showed us how you set up your planner instead of talking about different ways we can set up our planner.
It takes me about two weeks to set up my planner. I'm done with mine, but here I am watchin' ya for more ideas. Just in case!
I totally take the freebies from the hotel bathrooms. I use them for travel and emergencies. I like to keep a stash of little things like that inside my diaper bag because with four kids you never know

I seem to have watched a million videos about setting up planners, etc and by far yours is the best one I’ve come across.
I got an 18 month ECLP as well for the larger coil. I took out July-Dec of 2023 weekly pages and kept the monthly for advanced planning. It’s fantastic! It’s a great idea for that larger coil!

We always take the little shampoos and freebies in the hotel rooms. 🥰
I love the pocket idea! Also a notes page could be a reading log.
I definitely take the hotel toiletries but I use them for when we visit family because we don’t have a guests bathroom.

We always do as well! Great options to have for visitors and also make great stocking staffers or for filling gift baskets/ blessing bags, etc.

Perfect advice about the dashboard page. I made the mistake for 2022 by listing monthly bills and I no longer track them there. I use a separate petite monthly. Ugh! I was so pissed at myself, so I’ll only fill it out a month in advance. Thanks!
I have my reoccurring and regular bills on autopay (Credit Cards, HOA, Utilities, Car Payment), I pay my Home Owners and Auto Insurance in one payment for the year when the policy renews, and I pay my Property Taxes in one payment when the statement arrives toward the end of the year. I also have it set up automatically to contribute the maximum annual amount to my IRA towards the beginning of the year. My tax situation is a bit complicated (I file 3 different State and Federal Tax Returns annually) so my Accountant has me set up to pay the Estimated Tax Owed every quarter, which is also on Autopay. I have ADD, so this works the best for me otherwise I’ll procrastinate and possibly forget to pay something altogether! I just make sure I keep enough in my account to cover the expenses. My Credit Cards and Utilities send me a text notification about a week before the withdrawal date to remind me of the payment date, so if necessary I can transfer funds from savings. This is just what works best for me, and gives me a better idea of what my disposable income is for the month for the non-essentials - although I think planners and related items should be classified as essentials! 😁
re: notes pages - i always like to have a list of all my frequent traveler info - as well as lists to buy, planner wish list, etc

Yes, I use the hotel individual products to stock my guest bathroom as well. I am sure we are not alone in this practice. 😊
I used to. Then I stopped. Everyone brings their own and it is just a lot of extra plastics and clutter.
I asked Lynn directly and she said she isn't making these amazing bookmarks anymore, I love mine too and it makes me so sad. I may just have to figure out how to make them myself! Thanks for 'hanging out' with me this morning to setup your planner :)

I mean, we always took the free toiletries, but I've never had a guest bathroom.
I don't usually do any set up work. I just jump in and start using it. If I switch to the Daily Duo, the most I might do is add lines to split my day into blocks of time to help organize tasks a little better... and most of that set up is figuring out where to split the day.
I always take the freebies ! They are great for my gym bag.

I have a big plastic bin under my guest room sink of tons of hotel amenities from work travel, and I usually have 2 or 3 sets of hotel soap/ shampoo/ conditioner/ lotion out on the guest sink on a little tray. People use them.
I've done a ton of traveling, and I always took the freebies!

Oh and it's also helpful when you need something to throw in your own purse or bag in a pinch...this summer we used it for kids camps...they also work well as additions to goodies bags, hope bags ( bags for those in shelters or homeless if yall make those), etc. 😉👍🏾🥰
The first thing I did this year was slap the sticker of R2D2 riding an x-wing (in the classic Star Wars book) in the center of the Colorblends vellum. It looks like it belongs there.

Oh!!!! I have a whole collection of the little freebies hahha. My hubby used to and starting to again, travel a LOT for work and I would ask him to bring those little things back and so I havent had to purchase anything for our guest br for a long while and these products are usually really good brands. When the guest keeps their goodies it's all good cause I have like 3 plastic shoeboxes full hahaha...um so i probably have a problem hahah but nope you are not alone

I too take the free toiletries. I don’t have a Guest Bathroom but I do make packs for the Homeless and I give them out. Or I put them in work bathroom
I like to uncoil mine and save the extra pages for random projects that may come up. Yes i have a box of random planner stuff but it has really come in handy. Also i like to journal so i order an extra note pad of the same size and add extra journal pages for the month.
I used to take the toiletries from the hotels until they made my skin red and itchy. I ❤ my EC horizontal platinum coil 12 month Hello Kitty planner. I don’t cover up anything or use all of my sticker stash, but I use as much as I can. And I don’t do planner surgery either. Not my style! The first thing I do is put certain stickers on the cover and the back.
I use an academic planner going from July to July. I put in birthdays and school schedules (holiday breaks, half days, etc)

Ahhhh! 😫 my little heart breaks I can not tear out or throw away pages lol I’m a horder. I uncoil my planners and if at the end of the year I don’t use some pages I always save.

I think I need a planner closet!! Maybe if I clean out the closet in my home office/craft place/guest room/workout space I can turn it into one! I love that your covers are on a coil. Think I’m going to have to do that

I take the items from hotels and freebies and make hygiene bags for the homeless population in DC. Glad you had a great trip to our Nation’s Capital. It is a beautiful city.

and that’s why I have a 2” coil lol i combine duo to weekly as well though.
I use to work in housekeeping and we didn’t care if you took the freebies. We couldn’t reuse them for new guest so a lot of freebies got waisted. And now when I go somewhere I also take the freebies home and I use them for if I run out of hand soap and I’m not going right away to the store.

No I put towels, washcloth, and hand towels, toothpaste 2 different types, mouthwash, floss, tooth picks, qtips, body wash, soap, my guest bathroom has everything that our own bathroom has. My daughter comes home just to shop in our guest bathroom!

The large 3M corner sticky pocket from Erin Condren is on their website under Accessories. Various shops like Cloth & Paper and Planner Press sell similar items, as does Amazon if you prefer a square shape. I’ve even found them at Dollar Tree, Amazon and Target (in the Bullseye Section around Back to School Time), but I can’t attest to the quality.
Yes, we always take the toiletries. I work for a non-profit where these are perfect size to give to incoming people who have nothing to keep up their hygiene.

I have a friend whose husband is a commercial airline pilot and stays in a lot of hotels. He brings home the unused toiletry items and about once a month they donate them to shelters for abused women and the homeless.

Why didn't you clip the june and july as you did with the may and June? That way you could have used them in your next planer...
Or get a planer that fits better to your needs? I really don't understand. If you really need more space and you know that why not get bigger rings and put these on... as you always do that wouldn't that save money on the long run?
For your large clip in bookmark: cut off the clip ins and stick on an EC coil clip!!

EC should sell the coils separately.
They do have coils in two different sizes. You can search for them on their site.
