We don't have roads to tackle more vehicles in our cities. Poor planning and illegal encroachment has made our city roads very congested. Until our cities get cleaned, increased car sales will only lead to more traffic and accidents.
Don't live in the past, these are our roads now.

India needs a robust public transport system. Trains would work out the best just like in western Europe, Most people travel from city to city by train. India needs increase its frequency on trains on busy and densely populated routes, and bring better & regulated services.
The west Europe train is not the best.
Yes trains are one part of solution not the only solution
@@cyrusthegreat3081the other "solutions" is increasing roads which would induced demand thus even more traffic in a country which is known for worst traffic congestion.
japan's public transport network is so strong and efficient that there is little incentive for japanese to buy a car, unlike in usa or india where it somewhat becomes a necessity as we dont have proper public transport systems. While I love automobiles would prefer to travel in them, public transports are much more suited for big population such as india, where buying a car is still a dream for many. Having a large car market may seem good for our economy now, but it is much more complex than that. If the road network is not able to handle the traffic then whats the point? Metropolitan cities are already facing these problems and in the near future other cities will face this as well. The work Mr. Gadkari is doing is commendable and i hope he finds the best solution to our problems
Yeah, and China has mix of both private as well as public transport
Japan is just a island man , here India and China are far bigger than Japan in area how can you expect point to point connectivity.
8:06 it takes 42 min to cover 41.7km in shanghai at 12:10 p.m. while it takes 1hr 23 min to go 41.7 km in delhi at 12:10 p.m. It takes 1hr 17 min to cover 37km in mumbai . Despite of So good sales of cars in china this is what you call a traffic jam. This is usual scenario
Same China had the largest jam in the world in last couple of years.

If govt reduces taxes then it will be a boon not only for car market but also for economy of India
It will cars affordable no problem but it will cause a major problem of traffic . And we would have to built more road ,and there is no end to this . Hence we cant afford to have less tax on cars unfortunately we have to put societal interest before individual interest .

I respect Nitin Sir.
But, 3 saal me car production ko 4.8 million se 28 million le jaane ke liye, 85% annual growth chahiye.
Which I don't think is possible.
Currently growth 20% par ho raha hai Anually.
Even this growth is very impressive.
Agar isi rate se grow kiye to, 28million ka production par aane ke liye, we will require 10years.
Which is also very good.
Ab sab kuch raato raat nahi ho sakta hai, it takes time.
Where exactly he said that? I'm just asking
28M is needed to surpass China, but to get the 2nd position we hardly need 15-16M. Isn't that achievable within 3 years?
Love your indepth analysis 👍
We also need easier auto rules. eg: luxury car tax, car mods etc. This can grow auto parts market drastically

Zero road sense, zero responsibility aur sab ke sab kyaa 4 wheeler wala kyaa 2 wheeler wala
govt should srssly take some action and bring strict driving test rules
Hn bhai, govt should stricten its policy on licenses. Proper licensing exam should occur and recorded. Rules should be stricten to follow rules.

in metro/large cities it is jam-packed with cars and other vehicles. India need to focus on cities with smaller population for economic growth. which means Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, bangalore, Ahmedabad, Pune needs less focus and more focus should be on cities north of delhi,(ludhiana, Amritsar, Panipat etc) or cities like Jaipur, Lucknow, Patna, Bhopal, Indore etc.
I akso think the same...India should focus on small cities and provide opportunities to people living there..

Tbh I don't want India to become world's largest automobile market, we should rather focus on world class public transport and airports instead of becoming more crowded.
WILL BE THIS, WILL BE THAT!

I hope every Indian gets successful enough to own a car, but i dont want cars to become a primary mode of transport in India
Yeah it will cause huge traffic jams and problems in parking in cities.
Sir aap yaha
Are like karo bhai ko.

The only thing i want from Nitin gadkari ji is JDM cars in india
Interesting especially when brands like GM & Ford have left and European are on the verge.
damn,good to see you here
Ford don't introduce new car they just have 2 cars eco sports , endeavour old version and gm they did the same
But Japanese and Koreans are thriving
@@PS-ug7nmJapanese aren't doing very well except Suzuki.
Toyota has collaborated with Suzuki and is selling rebadged cars while Honda is dying slowly but steadily. Nissan will also leave India very soon.
India can become a bigger market if it reduces taxes on cars. S580 costs 3.10 crore on road delhi compared to 1.67 crore in uk. Despite of the fact that it is assembled in india but not assembled in UK. Lets take example of a car with high levels of localisation brezza zxi plus. It cost 8.32 lakhs but after adding 28%GST, 22% CESS it becomes 12.48 lakhs ex showroom. 1.248 lakh rupees road tax and registration charge and 12, 480 ( TCS 1% of exshowroom price) . I have not added insurance, it also has a tax of (18%GST ) on it. After this much of tax collection, roads can be made with some amount of gold. If not gold every road could have been made as good as a race track. But most of the roads are bad quality in india. People unnecasarily hailing gadakari. He is definetely better than other ministers , no doubt in it
Our government taxes is whenever, wherever they can!
People who pay taxes are often loaded with Cess, TCS, krishi Kalyan cess!
Car,mobile pe tax batana Chahiye,Public transfort ke liye sarkari bus Aaye toh Aur Accha Hoga - Kyuki jyda car population karenge Aur mobile addiction Isliye tax barana chahiye

Being no.3 in sales of passenger cars is nothing to be proud of 😑
Only 7% of Indians own a car and see the situation of traffic currently!
More emphasis should be given on developing public transport so that owning a car should be an option rather than a necessity.
We should be celebrating India becoming largest exporter of cars rather than a consumer 😑

The issue is Tax on cars in India is shiity high. The government is making money like the devil upon our car purchase. The issue is Gadkari lacks Vision. We should choose EV or HYDROGEN or HYBRIDS. The government is just making us confused, and minting money upon us.
Hybrid and EV are the future
if the tax will become lower then there will be a nightmare on the roads. controlled growth is necessary. if too quickly many cars are bought, and the current infra would not be able to hold it then you will get traffic jams, accidents and pollution.

I studied the policies and plans China followed while it was at youth bulge. But , , I don't find any such thing in India .
We will lose this youth power within 20 years without any significant progress.
.
No other country could best use their youth power to lead the nation as China did since 1970s.
I shall deny this statement as India’s Population is much better placed than China in 1978 and will surely utilize the most of this dividend if we initiate right policies...which we are doing right now.
@@strategicindian No. We can't.
That time, , china introduced some strict laws .
There was no reservation system which is making India paralyzed.
China ignored environmental concerns at large and gave boom to industries.
Education system was changed and more Focus wad given on vocational education.
.
Here, , we still are busy in wasting time on useless topics like who was real hero of freedom struggle for India.
.
I don't condemn policies of Indian govt for now, , but it should have been done teo decades ago.
.
What we do now, , shows its results after 20 years.
As if we are seeing some good policies that will use youth power to put India in global leaders list but till we will start enjoying that fruit, , ( almost after 2040), most of our youth will start getting older.
Also, , we should know that in 2022 , , our fertility rate has come down to 2.1 .
.
Means, , any further, , it will decrease = lesser youths in future.
.
Congres is all responsible for it for not bringing some good policies at time.
.
Lets take only 1 example.
Sarva Siksha Abhiyan was brought to bring every single child into education streamline.
That's good.
But they didn't make any plan for what would happen when a skilled , educated youth army will be ready after graduation after a certain timr.
Where would they use their energy and skills and knowledge.
.
Ths was missing there. And now, , we are just sitting on a huge pile of Unemployed ( only degree holders, not desired skilled) youth who were given goal-less education years ago.
.
Congres should have done a great to establish industries at large scale so that these youths could be used in.
.
We are helpless now, , can't do anything else rather than keep watching them wasting their youth energy and skills.
.
.
China did this timely.
.
When one takes education, , after a certain time, he/she will need occupation /employment.
If he/she doesn't get it, , crime will increase.
China helped industries to booom which consumed most of youth later on.
.
( That's only one example ).
.
Well. For now, , we can see some good policies by GoI for future .
( China's GDP is 19 Trillion Dollars and ours is trying to meet only 5 trillion dollars. I don't say our policies are bad, , but we are almost 30 yaers late bcoz a country can enjoy youth bulge only for max 40-50 years. We have already wasted 30).
@@SuniL.KrishnA well we went behind non sensical and illogical socialism and the very Communists of China ditched it way back…. But I am still optimistic on our trajectory. I have read in a newspaper article that we are in better position compared to China in 1978.

And brother.
I don't condemn our policies .
I meant to say, , we are too late.
.
I'm concerned about youth bulge of India.
The policies we're seeing now, wil bear fruits only after 2040s but by then, , our youth population will start decreasing.
.
But , , long vision policies of India are good now.
I'm too surprised to see such growth of India despite huge population and corruption.
( I studied most of world's top economies. Corruption was in existence there at large as it's obvious when market is experiencing huge flow of money into. Corruption leads to greed and greed leads to do more work which in turn is ohk.
A businessman will never get excited , huper active if he/she isn't making a huge chunk.
It's ohk till being not parked as black money)
@@strategicindian And brother , , if it's doing well, , communism is good. We can see example of China and Russia.
On the other hand, , democracy comes with lots of drawbacks too as it requires popular consensus to bring large scale changes. Govts fear of taking revolutionary steps in democracy while no such environment is there in communist Govt ( given its ideology and policies are for welfarism). Reason is simple, a common man look only for momentarily relief but doesn't possess knowledge to see long lasting visionary impacts of polices and thus loses immediate confidence in govt. But a communist Govt doesn't have to deal with such situations. .
Overall, , democracy is better as it gives power to rule to people. ( Directly or indirectly)
.
( BTW, , Thanks a lot. After a long, seeing such a factual, informative, sensible debate. I've become your fan brother)
All this is fine but parallely we should promote public transport more rather than using personal vehicles

Being visionary is great. But visionaries also has to find ways first to change the mindset of 1.4B people as well. This is the first step towards any vision coming to reality. Until, us indians learn how to respect and protect public infrastructure, we are 20 years behind China. Keeping india clean is a major problem for us, as we have been addicted to throw our filth on the streets..this problem needs to be solved first then government can find ways how to recycle human waste.Roads get modernized but our driving habits remains the same with no strict driving laws in place and no sense of mannerism staying in one lane. Everybody wants to over take their front vehicle the fastest like if they are busy like Elon Musk, but aren't becoming ELON As of yet. India will surely rise and develop the fastest but we Indians need to take responsibility to respect modern infrastructure and act as responsible citizens of india.
