- Robosen has partnered with Hasbro to release some really cool Transformers robots. I've purchased the Flagship Optimus Prime and Trailer myself, and they have sent me the Bumblebee and the upcoming Grimlock, which I have reviewed on the channel. Now, Robosen is releasing an AI Base that is meant to connect with their transforming robots (essentially just Optimus Prime from what I can tell). Huge thanks to Robosen for sending me this to review, so I wanted to share my unboxing and first impressions with you all.
The base is pretty heavy and very well detailed. Beyond just being a way to display your Optimus Prime in robot mode, you can actually pair the base with Optimus. This brings some added functionality through a new app, where you can have Optimus perform various movements and the base has lights and sounds to coincide with them. It also has built-in Alexa functionality, though I did not try that.
While it has not been officially revealed in the US yet as of this recording, it will be soon and Robosen is testing this with select users. So as of now, it is available on their website (if you search through Google, not directly) for $249.99 and ships now. It is an expensive price for a display stand essentially, but it does look and feel very premium and the added lights and sounds and movements that Optimus can do on the base do look pretty cool. If you figure out how, please demonstrate all additional action Grimlock might have! Don't risk hurting him if it looks like it might, he is too important, but I REALLY want to see everything he can do and I'm not likely to get the base thing.
Hey @hassen So i got the AI base and have the same issue with the voice commands. Did you ever get it resolved? Also, do you just let it sit there plugged and and goto sleep on its own?
Hi I know this might seem crazy but I was wondering if you don’t use it anymore can I have a Dino charge megazord or a zord I am starting to collect again after leaving and coming back to Dino charge. Also keep up the good work love the Dino charge vids
That's very cool and I also love your TikTok video of making Optimus prime and grimlock transforming they were both cool I have the Optimus prime elite Robosen which was less expensive than the flagship one but up next if Robosen can give you another Optimus prime Robosen that should be the rise of the beast one but I'm waiting for late fall for grimlock and the voice command that I did for the elite Optimus prime actually worked when I said his name and said transform instead of convert
They did ask if I wanted the Rise of the Beasts Optimus. I’ll be honest that sure it’s a free thing and that’s cool but I don’t have space for everything and I want to be fair to them as well. So I declined that.

You mentioned Alexa being built in, but can you control the base (Optimus included) using Alexa-based commands as well?

Why did the designers put the charger there?
If you shutdown optimus while he is on aibase, can he stand up or his legs and arms will still fold?
Also, when you turn off the base, it doesn’t turn off Optimus but if you turn off Optimus while he’s still in the base, the legs seem to hit the back peg. Obviously we don’t want to scratch the Optimus. Is there a way around this?
Did you work out a solution to this? Just set it up and having the same problem.

I wonder what happens if the main battery could no longer be recharged, is there any available batteries for sale that can replace it?
Can this charge Optimus? Mine came with a dead battery and unfortunately there are no service center where Im located. Im thinking of buying this since it works as long as its connected to my charger :(
So I can’t get this to work it’s linked up but nothing downloads. Were you able to do the Robosen intro? Where do you find that? None of the battles none of the dances everything times out if you found a fix for this?

Not sure because I got mine from Robosen to make content about, I didn't order it normally.
Can you please tell me What’s the difference between the limited edition and the elite version on their website
Which one are you referring to? For the AI Base, I only see one version. If you're talking about Optimus Prime, there's the Flagship and the Elite versions. I have the Flagship one and that's what you'll see in the video. The Elite one is basically the same thing but just smaller and cheaper. It also is not compatible with the Trailer for Optimus Prime. Only the Flagship Optimus Prime works with the Optimus Prime Trailer.

What happens if you tell OP to transform while on base ? I'm scared my intrusion thoughts will win lol. And can the OP stay in on the entire time while on the base for display or does it need to go into some type of rest mode to not burn out the gears?
You know how if you have Optimus transform or do an action and something gets stuck so it just says it has an error and stops and needs to be rebooted? That’s what happens. And yes there’s a sleep mode. If you just turn off Optimus with the power button, he sort of slumps over. But I put him in sleep mode through the AI Base app which makes him slightly pose standing up and then eventually he just shuts off but he stays in that standing up position which is great for display.
I’m also setting up a review on him as soon as I can figure this out right now I can’t seem to figure out how to download any of the actions because it times out the app is not working
You can’t transform when you’re on the base in the app there’s a mode mode or base mode when he’s on there he’s on base mode
Does it work with the Elite Optimus?
Yes. It comes with a different sized adapter for the Elite Optimus.
How much was Optimus Prime?
£699 I got my opimus prime for £529 plus £13.99 p&p it was on Sale at game.
