Analizing this game on lichess, it's far from over. Black can survive the attack. Unless you are a high rated player, stockfish 8 give you a beating either with black or white :-) Starting from 7:22. I suggest to give it a try.

Thanks for the good show. I think the players of today lack the ability to find the moves that Tal ddid as they study the openings too much and play not to lose. They need to study the games of Tal.

He had raw talent but the soviets encouraged young chess players. There were probably lots of books available. And then promising players would be selected for more formal schooling by masters. Chess was a very big deal in the Soviet Union.
I love Tal’s psychological approach to chess. He would take his opponents into deep, dark forests. I’m sure a large part of his success was due to his unpredictability. This worked very well in his first match against Botvinnik

6:35 this is game is strategically decided in a tactic is what cracks the Case. Lsb is the culprit again as Black's pieces 🧩🧩 remain disconnected throughout the game. It's difficult to defend when you don't involve the QB+QR. That's practically Queen odds. I like Jackson showalter in Pillsbury who played Black pieces very well by playing this one simple trick (develop LSB) that GrandMasters hate hahaha. You're variations are quick and sharp way to get to the point!!

No , the white will just take e5:f6, and the white will have sacrificed only the exchange for a good attacking position. You do not even need to calculate concrete variations , you trust that the position is crushing (at least you will manage to get back the exchange plus 1,2 pawns, for a winning endgame). I mean what will black do then? Take h7:f6 and shatter the pawns in front of the black king, allowing white the Qh5:h6 ? Or move the Re7-c7 and allow white to capture f6:g7 ? The a1 rook will join the attack in 2 moves, through f1, and also the Bishop from d3 and the knight from e3-g4 will help at the final blow.
How many people are known by three letters? Tal? Mao? Who else? And I don't mean dumb abbreviations like AOC. Amazing player. No wonder he is known as the Magician from Riga, being born in Riga Latvia in 1936. Tal won the championship in 1960 only 11 years after he played this game at age 12, being the youngest world chess champion ever at age 23.
Tal is quite a comnon name in Hebrew, even today. When I was brushing up on my Hebrew a couple years ago, in Duolingo one of the examples is. "Mozal tov, Tal" (Congratulations, Tal.) doesn't seem to reflect the developers love for this prodigious chess player from the past, it is just a common Jewish name. I can't think of two more different characters than Tal and Mao 🤣
In hebrew Tal is just two letters, Tet and Lamed, vowels are indicated for early students with diacritics called niqqud that indicated vowel sounds.
I spent some time thinking about a three letter name that signifies another really famous person … I guess we could use King DVD, again, since Hebrew only uses consonants, though several letters (alef, heh, vav, yud, and ayin) do double duty as consonants and vowels. fascinating language. @@Brandon-a-writer interesting that it is a common name. I have not heard of another noteworthy person with that name. Chess is one of the top sports of highly intelligent people and Tal was one of the most gifted and legendary of all players.
