Just bought Inspire one and inspire two plus Time Macro libraries. All of them on offer at moment! Excellent, i love these libraries.
Great flow, Alex... you make it look/sound all too easy!
I've looked at many orchestral videos, and yours is one of the few that actually shows how to do it. Thank you! Do you have a video that shows how you set up all the instruments?
Glad you found it! I don't have a video like that, but what are you interested in, exactly? There's really nothing special about the way I set things up.
Nice video, nice jog. Easy form, easy creations.
Love you Orchestral Tools!
Yeah, Ravel theme!
I was thinking this sounded more Spanish than French, but I do love the French impressionists 😄
@@AlexNiedt he probably referred to Ravel's 'Bolero'. Sort of has a similar vibe )
@Kreuhn Kohrman I grew up with de Falla, Albéniz, Tárrega, etc.
Alex, do you answer inquiries?
Hello! Yes, I do
That stienway would go great covering bear McCreary's Derilde Thrace Sonata 1 ngl
Could you share your Cubase Template? i would really appreciate that 😊
That could be a possibility. Making a note of it. I know others have requested the same. Thank you for commenting!
@@AlexNiedt Great video! Thank you for sharing this insight into your composing workflow. Question...did you add all of those instruments one-by-one as separate Kontakt instances? Inspire 1 is my first orchestral library and I'm trying to find a good way to have all those instruments-and articulations-available to quickly capture ideas. Best!
@@craigberry4051 Thanks! Yes, one-by-one Komplete Kontrol instances
I think you went a little overboard with percussion, and that's coming from a percussionist composer lol
Haha, I prefer to add whatever comes to mind initially and then get rid of stuff afterward in editing. It's certainly a bit busy in its initial state, though it shows off more of the library (which of course is the point).
Glad I checked their website last night completely at random, otherwise I would've missed it! I bought Inspire 2, Time Micro, and Metropolis Ark 4 just before the sale began, which kind of sucks... But I'm not gonna cry about it because those libraries are amazing, and now I can afford even MORE, lol. Picked up Arks 3 & 4 last night, and now I just wish they'd put Glory Days on sale!
Same on the Glory Days...fingers crossed for black Friday!
Glad you got a couple Arks on sale! I don't have Glory Days yet, but I look forward to playing with it at some point. You have Time Micro but not Macro, right? If you like Micro, I'd definitely consider Macro. Making a piece with both libraries would probably be a rather heavenly creative experience, haha
you could show how to work from a score of a string or wind quartet ... even if it is something short of 20 measures ..... and how to work with the different joints in the DAW ,,, from a sibelius for example .. ..thanks since now
Hi Ruben! That would be outside the concept of this series. It's actually kind of the opposite, haha. But that could be interesting. I've certainly never done that. Thank you for the suggestion.
Is there anything on the master bus? Or is this out of the box?
Just a transparent limiter to prevent unexpected overs if they happened to occur. All of these videos are free of any additional EQ or reverb. The only thing I play with when setting up the templates is some mic and level balancing to my personal taste, but that's typically very light if I even mess with it. Percussion is probably what I adjust mics on most often. Usually it's just disabling the close mic like I did on the tubular bells in the Time Micro video.
Are the solo's the same ones from Berlin Woodwinds & Brass?
I'll preface this by saying I don't know all the technical details, but...I'd look at them as "Lite" versions for sketching. For instance, the Solo Clarinet Legato patch from Inspire sounds like the Clarinet 1 Legato patch from the Berlin Woodwinds Legacy version (as opposed to Revive). With the full Berlin libraries, you'll find additional levels of detail and options, of course. So if you're a fan of Inspire's sound, you'll absolutely love the full Berlin libraries.
Tobias from OT just posted this relevant info on VI-Control: "While BOI/BOI2 of course works as an 'entry-level drug' product for our bigger collections, if you carefully compare the patch lineup, you'll see that replicating BOI/BOI2 with the 'big' collections would be a HUGE task. These are not just cut down patches and there's actually quite a lot in both that you will not find in the big collections, like for example First Chair ensemble, which was a huge pain to get the blend just right."
Would love the midi track as a download so can hear it on my set up
