Such gorgeous cards Jennifer!!! Altenew has such beautiful stamps & inks, I absolutely love them!!! Thanks for sharing your time & creativity, as always, HUGS!!!
Wow, what a brilliant technique and awesome cards. So efficient! And the stems of the flowers will be a success every time you stamp. I will always be your fan. Thanks so much 💜
Jennifer the one thing I took from this video is that you give some love to stamps and everything you do. It's a wonderful gift to have and use. All the cards are lovely. The different ways you gave for using layer stamps are very helpful. I'm a big fan of die cutting then stamping. I use it often and find it gives me really good results. Cheers Lisa
Wow - this range of cards is gorgeous. Love how you kept trying different things to find what works best for you. You work so hard, and it shows in the quality of your finished cards. Thankyou.
Thank you for a way to set up the color of the ink pads. I am still trying to get my head wrapped around all of the different inks and their uses. Also thank you for the tips on creating the pieces for many cards at once. I do appreciate you and the work you do for us.
Thank you so much for sharing you organizing tools. I use this system of your exclusively, and I use all your tools and tricks for my stamps and dies and other things. It's helped me immensely.
I have nearly every Altenew ink colour in cubes. I am in love with the newest set Golden Sunset. I have them swatched as a family but not done a layered one yet. Wish I'd used your Swatch sheets but I don't think I will start again!! Love looking through my swatches just to admire all the colour. It cheers me up on a grey day 😊❤
wow. great idea for the Altenew swatches! geez. never thought of that! I don't have many Altenew layering sets yet...but yes it would be nice to know ahead of time what 3 or 4 inks layered together might look like for the flower!! beautiful cards too Jennifer :))
Thank you for doing this Jennifer, I am a total swatch lover, I have all my inks swatched and keep them in coin pockets. Now I will have to do the layering sets. I find it so helpful but most of my friends think I’m crazy. If you find time to update the oxide inks just the set 5 is missing and I would love to finish off swatching them.... thanks for all your hard work xx
I LOVE THIS!! Thank you so much! I am almost done with my swatching and it is so much better than what I had done before. It makes my heart happy to look through these swatches. Thank you thank you!
Wow, more wonderful tips. It's amazing that after stamping as long as I have I've never thought of that. You always come up with great ideas! Thank you, enjoy watching all your videos!
Nothing to comment on the vid (beyond how inspiring you are yet again 😍) - just wanted to wish you a happy & peaceful Easter. 🐣🌻🐰 Thanks for everything you do!
Oh my, an incredible amount of great, helpful information, Jennifer, that will aid me in being more efficient when creating....I soooo appreciate that! Thanks Jennifer!
Oh my goodness Jennifer, so much awesome in one video! Thank you so much! I’ve been using your swatch method, and I love this idea with my ever growing Altenew inks!
Thank you SO much, Jennifer! I learn so much from you -- we all do! And thanks for the ink swatch templates that include a layering portion. I've been pinning some of the layering samples on Pinterest, but this allows us to use whatever companies/inks we want -- in combination. Love it all! Hugs!
Wow Jennifer. You have such an orderly way of doing things! You are truly amazing! I do the same type of thing with my paints. It takes some of the guesswork out of it and I know what will happen.
Jennifer McGuire is so good. Great in fact. I’m so attracted to her aesthetic that I have to remind myself that I don’t like ink layering. I really love the swatches and coin pouches; I’m almost persuaded to buy all the different inks just so I can make swatches and put them in page protectors. I disagree that layered stamps produce realistic images. No they do not. They mimic a commercial printing process very effectively. And I totally get why stampers who feel challenged/overwhelmed by coloring and shading love this type of stamp. It makes for a fantastic, if mechanical image. I imagine for lots of stampers it’s quite satisfying like completing a jigsaw puzzle. If you want realism though you have to use the stamps that are produced from actual photographs. Or easier and cheaper, print your own photos in grayscale or as halftones and color over the top. If you like coloring, it’s great fun. Plus you learn loads about shading, blending, and color layering. Also with all of the apps and software available these days, it’s so easy to produce a wide variety of images. I think there’s so much to select from that every aesthetic is covered. I still love stamping of course; I own way too many.
Love to do layering, especially with Altenew florals so this video was especially helpful. I have many of the color sets so your tips/suggestions for using them are greatly appreciated. tfs...now to update my ink swatches!
Beautiful job Jennifer, never disappointed by your videos . The temptation to purchase these inks is REAL 🤷🏻♀️ but the bank account persuades against it .
This is the second time this week that I have seen someone suggest the E6000 spray adhesive. I have a love hate relationship with spray adhesive, mostly due to the messy over spray. I might have to give that one a shot.
Thank you so sharing another amazing video with lots of tips and inspiration! Making ink swatches is on my to do list for a long time! Hope I can check it off soon.
Another awesome video Jennifer! Thank you for the new swatch sheets! Definitely going to use them for my Altenew inks. Totally unrelated to your techniques today... I love your watch band! Can you share where you got it?
Thank you so much for this video! I was struggling doing layered stamps, and about gave up! I have a Tim Holt z stamping platform, plus now the paint swatches, and I bet that will help me immensely!!
Thanks for the great tips. Going to try rubbing a cloth over my stamps. I usually rub a white eraser over them. Seems to work well. The cloth would be quicker. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for sharing, now I can use the Altenew stamps that I received with the purchase of a magazine. Great techniques! I’m actually excited to do my swatches using my Distress Inks. Thanks Jennifer McGuire sending you good vibes. Patty
Thank you thank you. This is wonderful. I try to swatch out my layering inks. ❤️❤️❤️😊. This was a fabulous video. Really really helped me. Thank you so much
Wow I love what you have done with the layering swatches. I was going to ask you about that. Also, I'm surprised you have a Scan N Cut since you use so many dies. I stopped buying dies because of it and I love it! Thanks again for another wonderful video.
honestly, i bought it in 2015 but never used it. finally tried it and found it too time consuming. i also like the cleaner cut regular dies give, along with the unique techniques. however, i can see why people have it and use it!
I love your ideas and cards! I was wondering if you can show how you use your Brother ScanNCut. I had just received one and I'm not sure how to use it with the layered flowers.
I may in a future video. But honestly, I rarely use it. Only when I have LOTS to cut out. I prefer the techniques, speed, and flexibility of dies. Lila uses the Scan N Cut more than I do! LOL. There are LOTS of great intro videos to the machine. It is so easy to set up. I am not an expert. :)
I would like to see more info on your Scan n Cut and why you chose it over the Cricut. I am thinking of getting one but am on the fence about which one. I like using dies...but they are so expensive to use on just a few cards...I feel like if the electronic cutters work in would be a money saver.
i bought it in 2015. just opened it 6 months ago. and have used it maybe twice? Lila uses more. It does a good job but i prefer dies for many reasons: The dies give a better finished edge. The dies are much faster to use on a day to day basis as you don't have to set the machine up, scan, adjust, scan, cut. I personally only used because i had over 50 images to cut. then it is a time saver. There are SO many more techniques you can do with dies. So personally, I find dies better for me. :) The Scan n Cut is a great machine, though. Easy to use, just more time consuming and limiting :)
@@jennifermcguireink Thanks so much for your quick response and honest opinion!!! I really am enjoying all your video's and am learning (and spending lol) so much!! Happy Easter :)
Great tips, Jennifer! I enjoy making multiples of the same card since I have lots of family & friends scattered they never know they get the same card...hehe
This might be a silly, obvious question but how do you set up the flower properly using the Misti? I can do it decently with a clear block but I can’t figure it out with the Misti. Is there a video you did on this by chance? I find the way you teach most clearly understandable yet engaging.
@@jennifermcguireink Yes, if you have time. Maybe there’s a video I should watch? I don’t know how to do it with the Misti, only a block. Are you still enjoying stitching dies?
Ah... the key is to put the paper in your MISTI where you want it. Then you lay the flower down on the paper where you want it. If you secure the paper in place (don't move it), once you swing the door down onto the image and pick up the stamp it will be on the door and will stay in that place. So when you stamp it will place it right where you put it on the card. Does that help? And yes! Stitching is always fun for me.
@@jennifermcguireink Yessss! Thank you, that makes much more sense. I was trying to put it on the Misti clear door and it was in the wrong spot. Papertrey Ink is releasing a stitching die every month now. I can’t afford them all but it’s my favorite part of crafting. I have a whole side business that is doing pretty well based on stitching felt. I’m going to be selling in a couple boutiques. I love watching your videos as I stitch! 🥰
Lovely and informative video as always. At about 29:40, you meant that you stamped the background, right? Or is there is die cut for the delicate flowers?
Such gorgeous cards Jennifer!!! Altenew has such beautiful stamps & inks, I absolutely love them!!! Thanks for sharing your time & creativity, as always, HUGS!!!
Wow, what a brilliant technique and awesome cards. So efficient! And the stems of the flowers will be a success every time you stamp. I will always be your fan. Thanks so much 💜
Your engineering background is always so evident in the way you cleverly and efficiently craft. Thanks for the clever tips!
What this "up front" work will really save time. I was writing down my combos, but this is much better. Thanks Jennifer
Jennifer you never cease to amaze me! This entire video did not disappoint! Great new swatch ideas. Time saving tips...thank you Jennifer. Hugs!
