24 Generations?!?!?! Wow, that's absurdly long. I'm very happy for you Benebell to preserve such traditions, and as genuinely close to the real deal. :-)
Danny Chen Yes, we have books about the family. I think it's so cool too, even if there is little to no info about the women and it's all focused on the men lol.
I just wanted to say that I stumbled upon your videos last night and I already look up to you so much. I grew up with two very logical parents that never discussed anything spiritual or even anything related to feelings. I was expected to go to medical school, law school or to get a PHD and that was it. I have always been drawn to the metaphysical, however, ever since I was a small child. I'm finally giving myself permission to explore it more now, and it's been such a pleasure to find someone online that balances logic so beautifully with the spiritual. It gives me hope that I can reconcile both as well. Thank you.
I would like to begin this comment by saying thank you. These three videos have been the single most informative coverage of this information I have come across. In my practice I seek to honor the ancestor. Ancestors from my perspective are any who have contributed to my life through physical, emotional, spiritual or intellectual means. By such you have gained a place in the halls of mine. Again I thank you from the very core of my being.
Thank you Benebell for covering this much ground in such little time...You've a kaleidoscopically and yet multifaceted character with a positive infectious personality, and yet you come through in a very simple, poised and yet whimsical way. Most of all, I like everything I heard in these two videos... Indeed, just this morning I was contemplating the word "Pagan" and thinking pretty much the same thoughts too, you just have an awesome way to articulate it all in speech and I am glad you have clarified that for us...I can see why some of your fans and subscribers speak so highly of you. What's really "odd and cool," at the same time, is that notwithstanding I clicked on an other video, (where I wanted to explore some details about the Akashic Records cards deck), suddenly I had you speaking about the Akashic Records...so, since that was anyway the object of my research I decided to listen to your first video and, of course, I couldn't stop until this second one was over. I like your view on these topics and agree with just about all I have heard so far. Congratulation on your Home, it is so beautiful, I can see how you've turned your dining-room into your favored reading spot :) So young and so wise, congrats!
Hi Benebell. I've watched all four of your Book of Methods videos (this three part series & your first Grimoire show & tell) countless times. The ancient Chinese esoteric philosophies are fanscinating. My three sons are half Australian, one eigth Chinese, one eight Veitnamese and one quarter Cambodia. Their father, my ex, came to Australia from a Thai refugee camp, as a toddler, his family having fled there on foot from Phonm Penh to escape the Khmer Rouge. I have learnt so much about South East Asain spiritual beliefs over the past 15 years. Blessings to you 🙏.
Oh my word, what a lovely home! You are SUCH an inspiration. I wonder if you know how many lives you've touched. Like mine, for example. And I live half a world away from you.
As someone newer to the occult and esoteric ideas, especially eastern, I’m still trying to get a handle on just what exactly the this book of methods actually is and what it is supposed to do? But I can tell you, regarding Benebell Wen and her book Holistic Tarot... I have always been fascinated by Tarot but could never connect with most teaching books or styles. I found many flaky or just goofy or that I didn’t agree with most approaches and understandings of Tarot. I actually got so frustrated that I came to the conclusion that Tarot learning just might not be for me ... And then I found BW and HT and the whole world of Tarot just opened up to me. I found that her approach to and understanding of Tarot was exactly what I believed as well and her teaching/explanation style resonated on the deepest level. So I started browsing her site and watching all her videos and have come to the conclusion that she is a bonafide genius and a metaphysical prodigy. In the same way that Mozart and others were musical ones. And I’d go so far as to say she could well be on her way to establishing a (re)new(ed) metaphysical Order. She is that brilliant...
Thanks for talking about the word "pagan" at the beginning of this video. I found it really hard to answer to these various "labels" for the very reason you stated in the beginning of this video, but from a different cultural angle. Language is essentially an artifact of culture, and so it is extremely hard to use a word which on the outset seems to translate well to words such as "pagan" or "witch", but in reality misrepresent what those words are seeking to find equivalence to.
Nobody Here very true. Take for instance Mandarin. I'm still not sure what the best translation for witch is. Common ones are wu or wupo but that's an imperfect translation. Will be seeing you around RUclips! :-)
thank you for inspiring me with your work! As a mostly white man with no magical tradition due to Christianity, all of this is incredibly new to me. Do you think it’s ok to be culturally eclectic in my practice so long as I’m respectful and seek to understand?
Hi Benebell, I am a Mahayana Buddhist too, I am also interested in Daoist esotericsm. However I have trouble in seeing which is higher, Buddha Dharma Sangha or San Qing? How a Buddhist view should have when we learn spiritual practices from other schools/religion?
Nevermind that I just now watched all three of your videos for the 2017 Pagan Grimoire Prompts! (Hope I'm really not THAT far behind!) Being so "new" to this Life Path; Not only do I not know anything about any Pagan Challenges from back in 2017, but as although I'm hearing more & more about "Tags" "Prompts" & "Challenges" for RUclipsrs to make 'Response Videos; ' I still don't really know much about it! 🔴HOWEVER🔴 If I was "The Betting Kind" (OR if I had any money or collateral to 'put-up' for A Game of Lucky Guesses!) I WOULD *SOOO* have you "pegged" as THE ALL-AROUND WINNER OF This Yearly Challenge! Benebell Wen, I whole-heartedly ADMIRE YOU! & Just to make myself STOP filling your comments with ramblings... I'll close with a few words that I've come to me during the last 3 videos I watched! •Classy• Stunning•Elegant•Knowledgeable Wisdom•Effortless•Pride•Real• Truth•Radically Auspicious... ALL WHILE SHE'S SOMEHOW ABLE TO REMAIN •GROUNDED•HUMBLED & ROOTED... You would be a PERFECT EXAMPLE of someone she could 'look-up-to!' ...& IF She would listen, learn & even somewhat follow in your footsteps (Not necessarily in path... Great video, it's often difficult to translate meanings from one language to another and I never really liked the European term of "Pagan" as it was an insult and later adopted, but it also does not define many practices that don't follow "common" mainstream religions.
Hellbound Heathen I agree that the actual class of folks worldwide who would identify with what we socially define as pagan now exceeds the original definition. :-) So then what label to use? :-)
Good question. In the Parliament of World Religions they tend to lump them as "Indigenous Earth-based Religions" - which, seems limiting to me. I personally like the culture's word to describe a practice; for example: Santeria, Voodon, Bruja, Venefica, Strega, Witch, Shaman, Wu-Jen (?), etc. "Witch" and "Shaman" themselves become blanket terms for various practices - but, when we try to lump them together for ease of speech I think maybe "practice", "belief", "spirituality" or even "religion" (although I think many get turned off by the concept of religion, as it conjures images of dogma and hierarchy) is a short hand general term. I think it's a great conversation to keep bringing up so we can possibly come to a more acceptable and encompassing term. For the time being we might have to use multiple terms and also treat certain concepts individually and then qualify each individual belief. I can completely relate to this as I find myself tripping over language to be all inclusive and at the same time respectful to each. :)

Loved the whole series. Very inspiring all these years later. 😊

Very interesting set of three videos. (I wrote this having the algorythms in mind more than the importance of my opinion).
Once again I thank you for listening to your journey it has helped me more than you'll ever know...

Didn't you say that in part 3 you would talk about how you create a page? Love your work.
Praxidike100 haha ooh, did i? I tried to talk about how I create a page in video 2. That video sums up my coception and work process. :-)
Awesome video. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and ethics!
