The ending is so poetically sad, the Venator crashing, as well as Jesses helmet really hammers home that the Republic has well and truly fallen. For me it was a perfect ending that showed the sadness and hopelessness that the fall of the Republic brought
@@GothicXlightning This "cold" ending is the contrast to the glimmer of hope that exists at the end of ROTS, with Leia arriving on Alderaan with her new parents (a kind of paradise planet), and Owen and Beru looking out in to the sunset distance, with Luke in their arms, while Obi-Wan watches over them (stark and sandy, yet, in a way, beautiful).
you true SW fan my friend and you know it's legends just like me :) Despite been more of a Castlevania type of person i love star wars very dearly and i mean the true and only SW that George gave us
vader, reflecting on the past walking up and grabbing the lightsaber, igniting the blue light saber and holding it like he use to as a jedi and remembering the past, walking away from the clone helmet signifying the past reflecting the future.
Arkanagos I zoomed in to see if yo ass was lying or not and you was actually telling the truth you can barely see the blue through the red tint but it’s there
When the camera focus on Jesse's helmet at the end, it symbolises the end of the republic being his helmet has the Republic logo on it and the death of Jesse. Jesse didn't die for the Republic, he died with it
I think the blade runner music fits very well, it fits the tragic and depressing end of the clone wars. The music with Ahsoka standing over the clone’s graves, and Vader looking up is my favorite bits.
Ya I thought the music for the last two episodes was an amazing change really hammer's home the fact that the clone wars is done and things have changed
That ending with Ashoka burying the fallen and the transition to Vader and the Empire at the end was peak Star Wars, I wish Rebels had more moments like those.
@@SwaggerLikeUz i'm not sure, this arcs were already written before disney bought star wars and honnestly order 66 would have been INSANELY more intense if we didnt know if Ahsoka Rex and Maul would survive. But since rebels, well we already know what happened before we see it.
The final shot of the cracked helmet really displays that they're from the past and are no longer relevant, being used in a pointless, useless, and orchestrated war. Their time has ended with the Empire taking over.
There isn’t supposed to be “hope” at the end. Like Revenge of the Sith, we all knew it had to end in a tragic way. Sadness and sorrow would be the case until Luke and Leia grow up.
The fact that you didn't enjoy the music is kind of the point. It was never meant to make you feel at ease, the music was meant to make you feel the reality of the situation, the dystopian future for the Jedi, the fall of the Republic, the tragedy of the Clones and the rise of the Empire. You're meant to feel hopeless and depressed because that's exactly what they are feeling so it fits very well.
I love how they symbolized the end of the show with that last shot. An old, worn-out, broken clone helmet. Clones are a thing from the past. The republic and its Grand Army are forgotten. Clone wars is over. It's all over. The present is now Vader and the Empire.
That last frame is a HUGE symbol to the show. We are Vader walking away from or beloved past and the Helmet is the show. We are moving on yet the helmet(the show) will always be there
I find the owl scene poetic. The owl represents freedom and darth Vader represents being trapped. When he looks up at that bird he wants freedom, which he will get.
Morai is the daughter, and the daughters essence is in Ahsoka, when she brought her back. Plus then, Ezra pulling her through the world between worlds portal. Such a cool storyline.
I think the "Blade Runner" music really worked. It added a sense of expansive profound drama instead of the classic orchestral offering... Also for me as an older guy who remembers the time of Star Wars in the seventies, it heralded back to the age of electronica music provided by such artists as Vangelis, MECO and Walter/Wendy Carlos, which was so popular during that time... It really took me back! Think on this and see if you can reconsider your stance... Good review... Thank you.
It’s so weird that we are living in both some of the worst Star Wars has ever been, and some of the best, simultaneously. The quality gap between film and series has been astonishing. (And I don’t even necessarily fully hate the sequels.)
Honestly my favourite episode of TCW. "HELLO THERE! "Great video Fred I'm a new viewer of your channel and your one of my favourite RUclipsrs to watch now a days, your channel is AWESOME! May The Force Be With You!
Empire Wars! Let's get it. Love the empire in this art style. That bird has a connection to Ashoka and the daughter, some lore behind it. Came closest to crying with Rex's scene :(
The entire final arc/movie was top notch in all facets. Not just the story and the action but also the animation and music. They put all of their effort into the finale and it shows. I loved the Blade Runner type music at the end. It fit the very solemn feeling.
Anyone else interested in seeing a mini series of Rex (either before OR after splitting from Ahsoka) finding his own place in the galaxy and showing us how he came across Gregor & Wolffe?
I also wanted this episode to be bit longer. I really hope Disney will eventually finish all of the 40 still remaning but yet unfinished Clone Wars episodes that we also should have gotten originally. It would be awesome to see arcs like son of dathomir or dark diciple (for example) on screen as well as seeing on screen what happened to Kanan, Commander Gregor and Wolf and to the Bad Batch during Order 66! By the way, the released but yet unfinished episodes are just a (small) part of all of the unreleased and unfinished episodes.
@@lemondpapi1152 As far as I know, there should be an arc about Yoda and the Bad Batch on Kashyyyk amongst those 40 unfinished episodes. It would be awsome to see that on screen as well!
I'm the same as you. The music in any movie or cartoon or game or what have you within any given scene amplifies the emotions or the intensity of the scene. It just sucks me in and I love hearing those musical cues in star wars episodes 1-6. It just gets me in the feels and makes me more invested in the story and characters so yeah the music in anything plays a big part with me as well. The music adds to the overall storytelling.
Im so glad you were here to the end... w/ us. May the force be w/ you. Her story continues in Star Wars: Rebels. Follow the Force, and youll find me/us there.
Something to add to all this as well. As the helmets are no longer on the sticks, when he picks up Ahsokas lightsaber, it only takes one look into the nearby Clone Helmet for him to think that they killed Ahsoka. That's why he doesn't hunt her down, because at that moment, he belives her dead. So, when Vader walks from the helmet, it's also like he's walking away from his past and into his new future.
I love your reaction and ever other reactors reaction to these last four episodes. I'm 42 and was such a big fan of Star Wars growing up and when the prequels came out it was a very big thing for us, and I got to share the prequels with my nephew when he was younger. Back then I would speculate and head cannon every aspect of the prequel trilogy. I remember how people back then would pick apart the flaws in the movie but I always saw the potential in the story and had expectations of where I wanted the story to go and I must say that this series exceeded my expectations.
This episode had the heaviest ending of any TV show or movie ever. Nothing even comes close. You can actually *FEEL* all the weight of Clone Wars and what came before, as well as the responsibility of keeping hope alive at the end.
The only thing I disagree with is the music. I thought the music was very well done and I'm always excited when there is new music that fits well into Star Wars. The ending song with Ahsoka had a strong theme of loss, the feeling that she couldn't save the clones being forced to carry out order 66. Then the transition to the ending music with Vader that had the theme of dread, it played so well into Revenge of the Sith. I personally loved it.
Excellent reactions man. The Blade Runner reference with the music was spot on. I'm a big fan of both music styles. The Blade Runner themes I felt were oddly fitting for the transition to the pre-Star Wars era. It sort of meshed with the loss of the Jedi and the eclipse of the light side of the force. Coupled with the visuals of the industrial themes of the Empire ascendant it worked for me. But I can also appreciate wanting more John Williams styled themes for the end of the show. Keep up the good work.
I remember watching these when the new episodes first came on, and comparing my memories to the way it looks now. Holy shit! The engine they used looks so good!
Man what a series! I think this is the best star wars you can watch! Remember buying all the toys and shit for it years ago! So sad its over but glad it happened 🙏
I'd love to see a new animated series that takes place after A New Hope. Leading into Empire Strikes back which one of the finales would be happening during Empire, and then other seasons leading into Return of the Jedi.
To me, this episode was meant to make you feel sad and melancholy. It was meant to show how hopeless the war was from the beginning. There was never going to be a silver lining here. Perfection.
I get where you're coming from about the music. But for me I feel like that music set that scene apart as unique. Giving it its own song made it feel more iconic to me. Now if that kind of music is played again in Star Wars, it will make us think of Ahsoka and the end of the Clone Wars.
T7, that has been with Ahsoka for years - blocking a killing shot to Ahsoka , giveing it's life - and no reaction? Laughing when the other droids gave their life? Heartless
I would love seeing a 10 episode mini series of Rex and Ashoka going their separate ways. Ashoka going into hiding and fighting inquisitors and Rex saving Gregor and Wolfe.
17:10 Its the end of Clone Wars... Republic clones became Imperial soldiers, Republic fallen, Jedi are dead or hidden and hunted. I don't think what you're talking about would fall under this show anymore. Theoretically, the last scene wouldn't have to be there as well.
A Qui Gon and Obi series would be interesting. It'd be nice to explore Qui Gon's philosophy of the Jedi and the force since his was different from the Jedi Council's. I would have it be a limited series though, instead of a full series that went on for more than a season.
I liked the blade runner esk music because it didnt fit in. It made it feel like something was off, something was wrong or out of place, just how Rex and Ashoka would have been feeling.
