Ok, let me get this straight...If Carly's parents knew she had a mental disorder WHY would they have a pew pew where she could get to it? Shouldn't the step father be indicted for this un alive of the mother too? After all, we have two parents that are sitting in prison for the same thing.
she knew exactly what she was doing and played this guy100% because she knew what her dad was diagnose with and use that for herself! This girl needs to go to jail, danger to society.
How did her mind go blank during the entire attack, and she doesn’t remember any of it? She only remembers just before and climbing out of a drainage ditch. BUT she told the cop yes she’s the one who did it and she didn’t mean to. AND she asked if her step-dad was okay. If she couldn’t remember and went blank, how would she know he was injured? I just posted a similar comment on yesterday's video on this trial. This is common in the American south and it drives me nuts. They have very different meanings. So many of them say whenever when the proper word, given the context, is when. A lot of Floridians, and those from the Carolinas, etc., do this as well. It's a southern thing. The cops testiying yesterday did it throughout their testimony. Today, I'm annoyed by the way this defense attorney pronounces "Carly" but it's not wrong, of course, it's just her accent.
I kept wondering if they were still in the room/ awake. I put in plenty of 'objection ! irrelevant's for them. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say they just wanted him to run his mouth off so they'd have plenty to pick apart.
@@judybailey9031really? After watching the trial today and listening to stepdad, I wonder if he may have 2:08 put her up to it. "You're just a kid, they won't give you a long term" I'm just wondering 😮😢
"What i learned was that Carly suffers from normal teenage issues and decided she was going to murder her mother to avoid consequences of her actions" this is insane.
These doctors that are hired to evaluate murderers and Claim after four hours of spending with them in jail that they are innocent because they can’t remember doing it should lose their license. They are money grabbers.
I believe her father planted that mess in her head. I don’t know why the courts allow unsupervised visitation with mentally ill drug users or questionable non-custodial parents. I am speaking from experience. I had a judge who didn’t think the father was capable of taking care of the child or providing him with the mental stability he needed. He also indicated the absolute hatred this cheating, no bill paying individual had for the mother. He wouldn’t give him custody or allow joint custody, but mandated that this narcissistic individual have regular unsupervised visitation. The father also was mandated to meet the mother in a public location to exchange the child. A child is the best gift you can give to a narcissistic, manipulative psychopath. He will definitely use this child against you
Rewarch crew!! I am eye rolling through the defense doctor, whom is reaching out of the solar system to diagnose but not diagnose Carly with PTSD, BiPolar 2, blah blah blah. BiPolar people are impulsive, not patient and calculating.
For the stepdad being nice talking to her for a couple of years his being with her mom I think they both know what they did let's see how far this will go
Very fishy ... if he grabbed the gun and shot himself because she chickened out of that part of the plan it would explain her crazy screaming and running away and why she questioned how he was.
@@BellaLeoLicoriceexactly . I do believe though that he came in between Carly and her mum , probably interested in Carly but had to marry mum to look feasible . Her behaviours are like someone whose been brainwashed and groomed. It’s easy to go down this track I know… because we cannot fathom these actions of a fourteen year old girl who before him , had a very loving relationship. The sad fact is , this 💩is more common than we know . So not hard to come to these kind of conclusions. The fact that he is seriously creepy and way to ‘into’ Carly is vomit inducing. 🤮🤮🤮
Hmm something ain’t right about the relationship… did anyone do a serious mental health assessment on both of them? What was really happening in that house? She could have asked to know if he was dead OR if he was alive bc it was a plot?? Idk something is just so off about him and her
Why isn't anyone looking into her and the stepfather I think he molested her and being bipolar maybe she fell in love with him wanted her mom out of the way the only one she was worried about was him and they were showing lots of love at court when he was talking about them
Neither of her attorneys seem to be fond of her. Nor does she seem surprised they're not! 😮there is a huge back story to this we know nothing about. Seems like she has been treated as an adult fot quite some time even though she is a minor.
No one just "randomly" shoots their parent. Something is off. There 100% has to be a motive. We don't know what happened in that house. Why were there cameras in the home? Were there other cameras? Something doesn't make sense.
I laughed as the "expert" came out with every useful diagnosis in the book. (DSM - 5) Was he implying she had DID as well? They've probably got Letecia Hardin (Stauch}'s favourite expert, Dr. Dorothy Otnow Lewis lining up to shore up that diagnosis. It is laughable that defence counsel can buy experts like this to tell them what they want to hear. Thank goodness the prosecutor set a few things straight. Dr expert will hopefully be questioning his own ideas about dissociative memory loss now. The other truly hilarious part was when the expert said with a perfectly straight face that she was experiencing command hallucinations at the time of the crime. She had denied it to him as he carefully explained exactly what they were and then went back to jail and finally fessed up. I'd like to know how this kid got her nipple pierced. I thought she'd need a parent's permission and supervision for that. How did she pay for the marijuana? She seems awfully fond of her stepdad, just saying.
If there is insurance money and if she is found guilty I wonder how friendly she will be with her stepdad because she won't get a penny of the insurance money
Bottom line it was not OK for what she did. So many of us want parents like that, who treat us good and not like crap! She was lucky! It's like *Sydney* Or *Ambuser Turd* No! She was wrong. Carly Looked in her room saw her mother looking around turned around and walked back to the other side of the house and got the pistol Came back and did what she did It's Terribly sad what she did!! 😔🙏🏼
Clearly this is a spoiled child.. got EVERYTHING she wanted and more than she needed to include 2 loving parents.. she wanted attention from her friends which is why she called them to view her dead mums body.. I hope the jury gets it right and she’s locked up for VERY long time. I was sexually, emotionally and physically abused by my stepfather. I never killed him or my mother!! Is this what we have become.. you kill a loving mother because she takes ur phone away?!?! Disgusting!!
Her stepfather is creepy the way that he smiles at her it's only been 6 months since this has and he is so forgiving something isn't right why all the cameras and why all of the guns left out if they knew that she suffered from depression what about a life insurance policy and how much just don't add up if he is involved they both need to be locked up for good
If you have all of these symptoms of manic depression or manic bipolar , these symptoms don’t develop overnight , if she had had testing before for her behaviour , others would pick up on this . Putting the video camera in the fridge , I’m thinking her mind was working well then to call a friend to come over to see her mom , would that be bragging that she did it? Getting into drugs changing her hole demeanour to show her friends how cool she was.
Somebody needs to tell the doctor that testified today that starting, virtually, every response with "so" is annoying and makes him appear undereducated. "So" stop it!
Judge asks for other witnesses, defense says they have none, carly looks at female attny says "not me?" And she looked at her like child please, and mouthed no. PUT HER ON THE STAND.
I love this judge. Very organized and knowledgeable! If only the attorneys were. I feel so sorry for the judge. He is ready to pound his head against the bench at the delays.

Getting into drugs changing her hole demeanour to show her friends how cool she was. I’m really trying to not sound cruel but I still believe this girl planned this,
As a doctor who knows about research, I think that the person testifying about the state of mind of the defendant (the Psychiatrist) is not a credible witness. There is no literature that will neither suggest nor back the notion that a person that hides presumptive bad actions does not know the difference between right or wrong. What he says is ridiculous! Fortunately for the criminal prosecution, we have the conceptual and empirical frameworks of Consciousness' of Guilt. "As an axe leaves its mark in the speechless tree, so an evil deed leaves its mark in the evil doer's consciousness" (Wigmore, 1923 cited in Hutchins & Slesinger, 1929).
She knew EXACTLY what she was doing, and she was super calm which is super alarming!!! She planned this... its so obvious!! Her defense team is useless to be honest.... there's no point in their cross examination. Pointless really. And I feel weird vibes between her and the stepdad.... something is just not right... more concerned about him.
bruh - the spin on medication theory is crazy, its clear to anybody that has senses in them that this girl is sociopathic if not psychopathic. period. the defense lawyer really wanna make that bucks huh -_-
Starting anti-depressants can increase anxiety for like 2 months at beginning why didn't the prescriber tell them that!? Drug test her each visit? Then they would know if she was on thc..
I used to litigate criminal defense cases. I have empathy for the defense team, because we do what we do because we have a passion for law. We either fight tooth and nail for their innocence, or if the circumstances doesn't allow that, we fight for a proportional sentence for the offense. This defense team seems without fight in some ways. That's why I have empathy, because it is clear their hands were pretty much tied from the get go with the information presented. It would seem they had a job to defend a girl that voices a defense poorly thought through, who, herself, is not adamant that her defense version + takes center stage. What a crappy set of facts to defend.
I will love to see this guy on cross. It's interesting that he taught at Harvard. He makes a lot of claims with little evidence. He needs to be crossed on his claims....
Oh. As for the defense saying she didnt know right from wrong. I am sure she did. At least reasonably sure. She chose wrong for a reason folks. What was it?
When she got arrested she never asked about her mother only asked about her stepdad is that bc she knew already her mom was dead bc she shot her in the head
This smart young girl is calculated and cunning in her planning to kill mom and attempt to kill step dad. She even wanted to share her killing with her friends!!!
I am so sorry for Heath Smiley. I got the feeling he was SO happy with his family. He really loved those girls. Now he's broken and my guess is that that's why he stands by Carly; ge can not comprehend that kind of evil plus she is all he got left from happy times. So sorry for such a good man ❤
He really shot himself. That girl is not faking her tears. Someone brainwashed her or gave her some type of drugs He said he may have touched the gun. That's a clue that he may have assisted in shooting himself. She ran because she was shocked after shooting. She did not yell and scream when she shot her mother..
Mmm %his girl went around for a year telling people she was going to do what she did . That is premeditated planed ... That means she knows right from wrong and wanted to do it .
Well i wonder she went straight to the unsecured gun should stepdad be charged too the only difference between this and a school shooting is they were not at school . Isnt that the point the courts are trying to make now.
The stepfather looked a little creepy to me, smiling at the person who tried to kill me and killed my wife!! Maybe there's something else going on between them? Your thoughts 🤔
Prosecutor doing a great job. She is a manipulator not mental and I'm not making light of any other's who are seriously mental it is very sad. Carley definitely sadly wanted her Mother dead.
I think Carly, as a child with possible mental health issues, deserves a very thorough and comprehensive assessment (not dueling psychiatrists) so that she can be properly diagnosed and given mental health treatment if appropriate. She is too young to be sentenced to life if in fact she has a mental health issue. The human brain is not sufficiently developed at this age, and unless she is a true psychopath or sociopath she should be given treatment.

I get some odd feelings on this little girl. Yes, she's a minor and looks innocent. But, I can see she could be very manipulative. The smile that step dad gave her was odd, too.
o she know exactly what she did and she wanted to do that, lack of discipline, manipulative and spoiled Bratt.
Ok, let me get this straight...If Carly's parents knew she had a mental disorder WHY would they have a pew pew where she could get to it? Shouldn't the step father be indicted for this un alive of the mother too? After all, we have two parents that are sitting in prison for the same thing.
100%!
What on earth is a pew pew?

The case is not over yet. His turn is coming
@@lettiegrant9447 Should have been indicted by now. He testified and helped the defense with the "mental health" crap.
Her smug attitude while the Psychiatrist talks, she obviously believes this will result in her getting off scott free.
Hopefully with he's long winded thoughts will be great for a rebuttal expert to have a hay day with that maybe why they didn't object hopefully
All three look like they are about to cry when the prosecution is questioning the witness they paid good money for.
@@PacificTrigger no, the plea offer was 40 years
she knew exactly what she was doing and played this guy100% because she knew what her dad was diagnose with and use that for herself!
Why would she say I didn’t mean to do it? She’s faking!!!
I can understand not showing the juvenile witnesses, but why don't they let us HEAR them?

It feels like there’s something off between the 2 of them. I can’t put my finger on it. Was he in a relationship with Carly? Did they want Ashley out of the way. It’s so weird.
Something about him gives me those same vibes but I just don't know....@@jessieroos128
No, you’re onto something. Something is not right. There is a large piece missing.
Yep...very wierd. His testimony is very strange. With state he was looking down whose time. Acting drugged to me. Smirking at Carly. Like love sick puppy. Did he want Carly to do it so convinced her? She wanted him to herself...why the camera in house? Wierdos.DEATH PENALTY
And the back door locked but step dad said she ran out the back. Who locked it? Funny how she could miss him and only a graze, why didn't she wait til he came in the door or house? He looked fake on the front porch. Something big is behind this missing. Dad knows at her age she wouldn't get much time. Something's wrong here imo
I hope she gets the maximum sentence allowed. Sitting in court trying to look innocent 🙄 she knew what she was doing that day and she is trying to manipulate.
I bet the reason she asked the officer if her step dad was ok was because she was hoping she killed him too.
I think it's because they have been having a sexual relationship and she chickened out of shooting him as per their plan. He grabbed the gun, shot himself, she screamed and ran off and was petrified he had hurt himself too much.
The defense attorney does not know the difference between when and whenever. I can't believe this person is educated.
That’s a southern thing. The police officers were saying it too.
@@thecozybungalow Are you replying to me? That's what I just said.
I absolutely hate that misuse of whenever! It’s so annoying.
@@river8760 That and "I want to say" drive me nuts. Oh, and saying someone did something "on accident" (BY ACCIDENT/ ON PURPOSE FFS!)
I'm surprised that the state wasn't objecting to this doctor's long-winded answers that stray well off the question asked.
I’m don’t think the state wants a conviction to be honest. They are trying it like they don’t really care. It is a poor job by the state.
I kept wondering if they were still in the room/ awake. I put in plenty of 'objection ! irrelevant's for them. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say they just wanted him to run his mouth off so they'd have plenty to pick apart.
The state knew that the more they let him talk they would have more to fire back and knock holes in everything he said and they did.👍
maybe because they know that they will get the answers they need whn they cross
Did the dad have life insurance on the the mother? There’s something not right with him about all of this
You are totally right about him not being quite right. But hadn’t considered life insurance. That’d take it to a whole other level . 🤦🏼♀️

Weird, i was thinking the same thing.
She was so smart she would known right from wrong . Can’t wait till the state cross
He will definitely use this child against you
Was there insurance money? How much?!
I agree. Somethings very odd here between the two.
Rewarch crew!! I am eye rolling through the defense doctor, whom is reaching out of the solar system to diagnose but not diagnose Carly with PTSD, BiPolar 2, blah blah blah. BiPolar people are impulsive, not patient and calculating.

I thought it was because the wife was afraid of her ex. She put them up according to him.
I think you’ve answered your own questions . Very odd . So much more going in here as I’ve said from beginning. ✌🏼

This psyc dr is full of crap
She knew EXACTLY what she was doing, and she was super calm which is super alarming!!! She planned this... its so obvious!! Her defense team is useless to be honest.... there's no point in their cross examination. Pointless really. And I feel weird vibes between her and the stepdad.... something is just not right... more concerned about him.
Step dad and daughter both seem to be trying to refrain from smiling at each other . Step dad could be the master mind letting baby take the fall.

bruh - the spin on medication theory is crazy, its clear to anybody that has senses in them that this girl is sociopathic if not psychopathic. period. the defense lawyer really wanna make that bucks huh -_-
So weird how so many defendants sit there and write a bunch of stuff as if they actually have that much to write down.
Starting anti-depressants can increase anxiety for like 2 months at beginning why didn't the prescriber tell them that!? Drug test her each visit? Then they would know if she was on thc..

There it is. Step father said he has never seen Carly angry. Ashley told Dr that Carly was easily angered.
this girl needs therapy
According to this doctor-we all need help !!!
She knew as soon as she walked in the door and looked directly into the camera! Like "y'all watchin right?" Horrendous!!!
I will love to see this guy on cross. It's interesting that he taught at Harvard. He makes a lot of claims with little evidence. He needs to be crossed on his claims....
