I have only a couple of things I don't like in this episode 1 the pregnancy supposed by elenalise world
And 2 the fact that Aisha said to Norn in LN you always push your beliefs on others and something similar silfy said to Norn before (only in the anime in LN is the same scene) only she believes in milis church
3 the presence of dillo beside de 🔥 in the same scene

One thing is certain, it's a good thing that the anime and manga industry in Japan had the brilliant idea of dividing these products into categories, because if all anime were in the same `´harem`´ style as Mushoku Tensei. (that is, a protagonist male surrounded by beautiful women ) it would be very difficult (in my opinion) for women to consume something like that and not feel bad, because if even I, as a man, felt uncomfortable, watching that episode of Rudeus's infidelity with Sylphiette, imagine then the female audience who saw it too.

The statement "I don't think polygamy can work in the real world" is close, but off-base because there are cultures on our planet that practice it and back in the day many western cultures didn't bat an eye at men of high standing taking concubines.
I think it would be more accurate to say polygamy can't work under "modern" values. We've long since discovered that the best environment for raising children is 1 mom + 1 dad so cultural and societal expectations, norms, and taboos shifted in that direction. Quite a lot of that is rooted in Judeo-Christian values for westerners but I'd be interested to hear an eastern/Japanese perspective.
The only thing that would allow polygamy to reemerge is the breakdown of society in which case we'll have bigger fish to fry.
And of course the graveyard scene and how much time was dedicated to it does a tremendous job picking up the slack left bt the previous episode. I don't think it has nearly the same depth provided by Rudy's therapy session with Roxy BUT it does allow this outpouring of emotions and the development he's undergone belong to Paul instead of Roxy. It kind of nicely bookends Paul's character. He's not only the catalyst for Rudy's paradigm shift, but also the person Rudy confides in to "share the load."
It actually doesn't matter if Paul is actually listening because Rudy FEELS heard which helps him arrive at the same conclusion as the LN. It also establishes Paul as "the person Rudy trusts most."
And if you know, you know.

First, traditionally all most all cultures were polygamous. It was important because it was necessary to have enough children because child mortality was so high. Not to mention how common it was for the woman to die in childbirth.
Second, this idea that "we've long since discovered the best environment for raising children is 1 mom + 1 dad" is absolute, 100% bullshit. Children are better raised by several adults, be they neighbors, extended family, or the members of a poly relationship, especially since, again, it was easy for one or both of the parents to die. Even in our modern society it's better to have several adults taking care of the kids so you can have AT LEAST ONE taking care of them while everyone else has to go to work.

    • @GabeSweetMan

@@Kaylakaze I suppose the moment you saw my "1 mom and 1 dad" comment you just stopped reading.
I mentioned societal breakdown as the reason for it's potential return. Once chaos breaks out and social order collapses, survival instincts will kick in regardless of whatever "morals" you hold and polygamy will re-emerge as a method of survival as women flock to men who can protect and provide for them.
"It takes a village" has it's merits but like literally any other value system, it has it's weaknesses, just like monogamy. Your line of reasoning taken to it's most logical extreme is precisely what enables teachers to use their position of authority over children to literally convince them 2+2=5.
There are merits and faults to both value systems but you need to be able to at least recognize the merits inherent to monogamy to even contextualize how the two value systems compare and contrast. If you simply reject even the possibility that these value systems work for the culture from which they were derived as "100 absolute bullshit", you're less forming an argument and more so demonstrating your ideological possession.
"Tradition is a set of solutions for which we have forgotten the problems."

@@GabeSweetMan No, I read your full comment, but the part about 1 mom + 1 dad is blatantly wrong, even in our current society.
I don't even know WHAT you're on about in regard to teachers but it sounds like some Ben Shapiro bullshit.
As for "merits of monogamy," you haven't provided any except your made up bullshit about parents.
And that quote at the end isn't as wise as you think it is. Most of the time, those "problems" that we forgot were problems like "How do I get power over all these people?" or "How do I get all the resources for myself?"

23:15 well even in theory on macro scale it doesn't work. Remember that on average the sexes distribution is 50:50 so polygami would literally force majority of male population into incelification. There is a reason why 9 out of 10 most dangerous countries have legal polygamy

    • @lucasvanwijngaarden670
      @lucasvanwijngaarden670 18 дней назад +1

That's true, but polygamy isn't the standard in this world. It's just not frowned upon like it is in our world.
To the best of my knowledge Rudy is the only non noble with multiple wifes. There probably are other polygamous families, but none that we know of.
There's also nothing stopping a polygamous relationship with multiple husbands instead of wifes. And what probably skews the male:female ratio the most is the fact that high mortality rate jobs like adventurer, soldier or mercanary jobs are mostly males.
Of course none of this applies to our world, but that doesn't mean polygamy can't work in a fictional world.

@@lucasvanwijngaarden670 oh you might understood me wrong, Rat asked if there is anything wrong with polygamy outside of our cultural framework. I know the things you have listed above and I can even add that polygamy in our world was normalised majority of the world's history in most cultures. Monogamy is acctually an annomaly here. That doesn't change the fact that it's more societaly usefull

I wanna do a long comment of how they should adapt better the time
For me the first part of season is a little too slow and the begherit arc too Rush and I never close the season with this episode but with the proposal on Roxy or maybe the first minute of this episode with Rudy run to his house I think is more impactful and you can save time to the mess they do in previous episodes

Ive never understood polygamy. I dont think its wrong or immoral but in my mind, someone is going to be liked more or liked less at given points in a relationships. With multiple people thats going to hurt. Jealously, feelings of inadequacy, self esteem. All these become much bigger issues in polygamy. Ive never seen a successful poly relationship in real life. The only times ive seen a type of it work, is when its purely sexual. No emotion or relationship. You guys get your jollies off and go your separate ways.
