@sprucegoose I always get confused as to which drops I'm changing. Starting from the1st of the 3 listed in the coaching adjustments....can you tell which zone is the blue, purple & yellow
Great video man!!! Some questions: what happens when I "Protect the Sticks" with Cover 4 Palms / Quarters? Do the defenders abandon the match and play just their zones? Is it comparable to cover 4 drop then? Good luck for the JUMPOFF 😉
Yep, I should've included that in the video! So much stuff to cover lol. But yes, anytime you protect the sticks it will make them essentially play drop coverage
At 3:00 you mention manning up a receiver from the weak side but it appears to be the TE coming from what would be the strong side. I feel like there was a couple of other cases where it seems like you mixed up weak/strong side based on what the video showed. Just wanted to clear up that potential point up confusion, great video!
Hey Kevin! I apologize, in hindsight I was using strong/weak to refer to the side with more receiving threats rather than the side of the TE itself. I'll definitely be more careful with the terminology in future videos, I appreciate you pointing that out!
Hey man! If you wanna get super in depth with it then I would definitely check out a paid ebook from one of the pro players. If you like trips and want a unique spin on it, I'm also gonna release my Pistol Trips ebook on my new website (coming soon) in the next couple weeks
Hey! I know that this vid is quite old, but I was wondering if you could answer a couple of questions! For seam flats, what happens if the inside receiver doesn’t run a seam/corner route? Does the flat play like a regular curl flat (intermediate to short routes)? Or does it just stay there and do nothing?
@@SpruceGooseTV awesome. Thank you! Very detailed video btw. I can confidently say this is, hands down, the best video that has made me improve the most 🙂
In Madden 24 you have to turn on match coverage in your coaching adjustments for it to actually work on plays with built-in match logic, but all the zone concepts are still true in Madden 24.
Hey man! It definitely depends on the depth of the corner route. If we're talking a deep corner route like from PA Slot Corner in Gun Trips TE, then you would need your zone drops at 25 (or maybe even 30) to guard it well. But for a hot routed corner route, the cloud flats will play them well.
Honestly almost no zones stop HB wheels. Sometimes in Cover 6 out of Nickel Normal I can get the cornerback to come inside and play it, but I hear the best way is to cross man a linebacker on the running back, so if the RB is on the left then you need to man up the linebacker on the right.
Quick adjustments. So double tapping Y/Triangle pulls up all your DB icons, double tapping right on the D-Pad pulls up all your LB icons, etc. Getting used to quick adjustments allows you to put adjustments on every player without clicking off of your user. It takes some practice, but once you get used to it, it'll become second nature.
Hey man! I go into way more detail about it in the ebook on my website, but if you play Tampa 2 and user the safety opposite of the Bunch, then it should guard everything pretty well

The only guy in youtube exposing pro secrets thank u for finally being the first person to explain zone drops
Thank you bro!
Bro I’ve been waiting for this exact video !!!!!! Your the goat
I wish I could like this video 10x. Some of the best content on RUclips. Thank you for your efforts Goose!
Appreciate it Rob ❤️

Yep. If you hit “protect the sticks” in quarters or palms then the back end defenders will act more like a drop.
Yep, I should've included that in the video! So much stuff to cover lol. But yes, anytime you protect the sticks it will make them essentially play drop coverage
@@SpruceGooseTV How do you protect the sticks?
Triangle L1
@@BrownBrown270 Y then LB if Xbox.
Short, sweet and to the point!
Good luck in the tournament man I'm rooting for you
Thank you man! Nervous but excited 🙂
Could you do a video on "secondary coverages"(inside, outside, overthetop, underneath, etc) Madden 24
This was done really well. Thank you 🙏🏻
I needed this 150 games ago 😢 I’ll be set for next year ✊
Better late than never!!
I still get confused. Starting from the 1st of the 3 listed in the coaching adjustments....which one controls the blue, purple and yellow zones?
Same
Didn’t know this &! Thanks 😊
This is good for madden 24? And this all still happens without turning on match zone coverage is that needed to be turned on?
In Madden 24 you need to turn on match for any matching principles to work. Otherwise the concepts are all the same.
At 3:00 you mention manning up a receiver from the weak side but it appears to be the TE coming from what would be the strong side. I feel like there was a couple of other cases where it seems like you mixed up weak/strong side based on what the video showed.

Hey I have a question. Is there a more in depth version of your gun trips TE or nickel 335 wide with more then 1 scheme and more plays?

@@SpruceGooseTV okay thanks! Any specific players websites?
Great job and well explain like always...Wish you the best on the tournament. Have a Bless flight.

It could vary based on the formation, but most of the time it should play like a regular curl flat.

Thank you, great info
So cloud flats for corners
Curl flats for crossers?
What do you think is more popular to use purple or blue zones
Good information man.
Thank you man!
Do you have an updated video on this?
Good luck in Orlando!

How do you get the labels on the zones
How did you make your select a play and zones look the way they do?
Hey man! I'm on next gen Madden 22, it's a completely different game from current gen Madden 22
It seems like cloud flats do not block corner routes tho
Hey man! It definitely depends on the depth of the corner route. If we're talking a deep corner route like from PA Slot Corner in Gun Trips TE, then you would need your zone drops at 25 (or maybe even 30) to guard it well. But for a hot routed corner route, the cloud flats will play them well.

What is the difference between cover 6 trap cover 6 and cover 6 invert ?
Slow down bro! Tongue twista🤣🤣
Spruce goose is the best. Short sweet perfect videos for me. All the research so we don't have to. Plus he kinda cute 🤩
Appreciate you man 😉
How do you get that kind of play art I only get the normal one
Are you on old gen?
Love it!
Thank youuuu

A bit slower on expanding, other then this the video is perfect 👍
Plz does someone know how to stop bunch te ?
This is a great video, but it can be answered in two words. They don't
I actually thought about putting that at the beginning 😜
Please add time stamps
