I’ve never even played FFX or know much of the characters’ chemistry outside of the Dissidia games and I can somehow say the same man I absolutely love that shit

Which is odd considering people were hating on Takeharu Ishimoto when he did work for KH3’s OST but everyone likes his work for Dissida, Crisis Core and TWEWY among others and even his work on past KH games like BBS. Thankfully, projects like NTWEWY and Crisis Core Reunion seems to have reminded them of that nowadays.
The Dissidia main theme is one of the most beautiful and, by definition, epic pieces of music ever written.
One of the best, most polished and most high quality PSP game there is and is considered as one of the pinnacle of PSP era.
What a tragic ending this series had become.

Makes sense, since Jecht was never a bad guy to begin with, and sacrificing himself for his son for them to switch sides is way better than in first dissidia.

Sephiroth is left-hand dominant. Which means that, at that moment, Tifa was immobilized, her foot caught in his grip, while _he_ still had his sword gripped in his dominant hand, ready to repeat what he did to her in the Nibelheim reactor.

I actually bought my PSP just for this game. I still don’t regret either purchase, I just really wish I knew where it got packed when we moved.
Terra playing with the flame as if it's a comforting force always gives me goosebumps
The way Yuna walks towards Lightning's direction in the end made me repeat that part five times

Everyone is fighting someone but then you look into one side there is just Cloud standing and flexing his sword and on another side there is Yuna dancing (looks cool though), and on another there is Shantotto on top laughing and finally Gabranth just doing a fancy sword play to charge up his EXgauge cause he can't fight without it xD
Cloud is too good that's why they had to make him irrelevant
For a psp game, this has got to be the most epic opening cutscene I've ever seen. I mean for me I can actually put it on par with the main title's quality. And the music was amazing! Some of the best arrangements of the franchises' themes (matoya's cave, tifa's theme, force your way, yuna's theme, a place to call home, terra's theme are among my favorites) though them barely touching some of the themes (eg. Blinded by Light) and retaining some of the original ones was a very wise move. And the scores are also awesome! (Canto mortis, cantata mortis, lux concordiae)The team behind this game and the first one seriously did a great job. Too bad Dissidia NT along with the soundtrack just slaughtered its predecessors imo. The remixes and arrangements of the music was a bit of a let down for me. Gameplay was fine. Storywise, it was lacking. I know it's just a bunch of "making new friends with the same will of the light" and "let's close the Torsions together" cheesy stuff but I honestly felt more engaged with Opera Omnia than NT and ended up investing more hours playing it. Though the story could be overwhelming or underwhelming (it depends), got me confused at times, but that was what made me connected in the game. It somehow made me follow the next chapters to truly understand what was happening. And to think that it was a mobile game vs. a console/pc game is really saying something. Well, here's to the slim hope for a DFF remake for the next gen console, cheers!

Back when I used to replay this nonstop in the Dissidia gallery. This was easily the most epic and my favourite video for that young, edgy me.

AND gottdamn 2:33 Lightnings entrance (since at that time she was the newest FF character on the list) was so badass
Ah, the good ol' times. Still remember XIII haters crying and accusing the devs of making her as the main character when she was obviously the newest protagonist to be introduced and she was even made to disappear halfway in the game as she was already "disqualified" to continue the cycle, leaving the ten remaining protags to be the total heroes by defeating Chaos and his champions, hence the DFF storyline. Fast forward to 2019, Noctis, our fifteenth newest protagonist received a royal welcome into the Dissidia world and no one bats an eye (perhaps everyone was already busy complaining how badly Dissidia NT turned out lol)

I don't know why but seeing Yuna every time in this opening makes me teary eyed. Also that headbutt between Tidus and Jecht is always epic.
Yuna is a very unique character in the ff world. I can't pinpoint it. Maybe because she is one of the few characters in the franchise that actually looks Asian (Japanese). Or that her clothing is very elegant. And she's a very strong character despite her gentle look and personality. She's definitely one of my favorite characters in the entire franchise.

I think it's meant to allude to how Locke and Edgar basically had to protect her in the beginning of FFVI... but, yeah, it really undercuts all the character development she went through over the course of her own game, doesn't it?
Here's to hoping that FFVI will get a proper 3d remake one day.

I like how some games were definitely more loved by the devs than others, FFV and IX barely get any time but then you have X getting the best part of the OP, with syncing music and all.

This game was on a level like none before it. It had bits and pieces of every character and game you loved, and made it like reliving the games all at once. I have NEVER loved a game more than Duodecim. The new Dissidia is a fucking joke. Remaster this for PS4!!
I remember being a kid and just hiding under the covers watching this opening over and over again on my psp. I felt like I was recreating a scene from the movie Treasure Planet. It's some of the best memories I have of gaming.
Still watching it to this day, I can say that this is one of my favorite intros of all time.

His addition was actually the whole reason I bought my PSP back then because I just had to get this game. Probably one of my weirdest impulse purchases I’ve made. Happily my husband didn’t mind me buying something quite that much without at least talking with him first that was a good chunk of our paychecks back then.

I just saw this on my feeds then I tap and damn it gives me chills and it brought up a lot of memories of my childhood.
I love playing this game series. But the ps4 version was kinda of a let down for me. I'd honestly perfer a remake of one of these two game in the future
Agreed, I appreciated that there was more characters in NT but the originals had better gameplay, especially 012 with open world portions of the game
