I hate when things break! Our water pump bearings failed on our first passage. Few days later we sheared the mounting bolt to our stern rail from hobby horsing in choppy water do to the dingy swaying on the davit. Never a dull moment but it’s worth it. Glad to see you found the bolt to the generator!
Hi. I just learned about you on the Liveaboard Sailing podcast. I have 2 questions: 1-do you have boat insurance? Did you use a broker in the process of buying the boat? I am currently on the market for a boat with the idea to do what you are doing. My starting time is around May-June of 2022. I am in Virginia but will be moving to FL next year. If possible I would like to move into a boat. I appreciate any feedback. Thanks Marcos
Ah that's great, thanks for listening! We only had insurance when we went into a marina (as they generally require it). Otherwise self-insured as they say. We did not use a broker for buying, but it can have it's advantages. All I can say is just do it, you won't regret a thing 🥰
@@OuterPassage do you have the name of a insurance company that I can check their requirements? The one that I talked to said that they do not insure boats that are older than 20 years.
Ahoy! Yes, we are well! Got a new boat, and big new plans, so quite a bit of work right now, no time to edit. But we will post more videos soon 🥰. Happy new year!
Bungees on the sails especially the main reduce wear and tear. The king that has rubber core and nylon sheeth. You can change the size of loops and how many coils to your sail plan but its esssential in light winds and swell.
Ahoy! Yes yes we are doing well, and will be releasing videos soon. But we got a new boat, new plans now, so lots of work! Follow us on socials for updates 🥰
Another great video guys. Do you ever think on a long passage of all the places that you could have stopped off for a visit. I suppose you have to strike a balance between sailing and visiting, unless you have somewhere important to be.😉 Also check out the number of naval battles there have been round Cape St Vincent. All the best, Mike in Sheffield.
@@OuterPassage oh, I forgot, I have dual citizenship so I wouldn't have to worry. How about you stopped in Portugal and then went outside of Europe by visiting Marocco or Tunisia?
Cracking sail 👍🏻 Nice to see you anchored literally just outside the marina where we are now and look forward to your next journey legs as we’ll be doing very similar passage next spring. 👍🏻⛵️
Wow, I am so jealous! To cool that you guys chose to do this “young”. You two are so great together too! What a team... I have worked quite a bit on a boat as a deckhand, great attitudes and atmosphere the both of you create. Inspirational to say the least, thanks for sharing... she doesn’t have a cousin with the same interests does she (lol)... sister??? Lol... please laugh, jk, great video
Awe thanks so much for the kind words! We are both very lucky we both love sailing, and get along doing it! For us our favorite part are those long offshore passages, it's spectacular. Thanks so much for watching and sending positive vibes! -D&A
I have already seen in the comments that you have a new ship, we are looking forward to hearing from you and the reasons for the change of ship. I have an Amel Maramu and I loved learning with you

I would recommend searching the forums to see what people recommend in your country or cruising area, and flag state. So many variables.
You guys okay? When's the next video?
Ahoy! Yes, we are well! Got a new boat, and big new plans, so quite a bit of work right now, no time to edit. But we will post more videos soon 🥰. Happy new year!
Just a quick question, have you two decided to end the youtube videos?
On pause for now. New charter project is taking proper amounts of our time now 😜

Thanks for the tip...will need to look this up! 🥰🤗🕺
What happened to y'all. Are you still sailing, are you still producing videos?

Yeah...visa issues keep us moving. Turns out countries don't like you staying forever 😉😂😜
Wow, I had been waiting to see you guys visit my mom's country and you skipped right through Porto and Lisbon, why?
Visa...if we wanted to stop in every place we wanted to see...well we would have to figure out a better EU visa situation 😜👍🕺
