Couldn't say this better myself, father a premi twin girls 3 pds each. Life changing but we adapted. Special needs and all. 32 yrs later and we're blessed. Awesome message !
Beautifully said! You did an excellent job of explaining how your family has adapted to Hudsyns needs & still enjoy your lives to the fullest! Enjoy every moment with both of your kids. God bless you & Cassie always with prayers!
Hi it’s Samantha. Great motivational video! I had to spend the last three months without my primary one and a half year old power chair. Because the motors were burnt out. Which was surprising because the motors on my backup power chair are still the original ones. That the power wheelchair came with. The shocks were broken. The wheels, and casters were all worn. It just got its last replacement parts put on yesterday. To make it run effectively again. I had to adapt using my backup power chair in those three months. My backup power chair does not have the power seat base. Like my primary power chair does. I’m not a parent. But, I do work with kids at a day care. Us teachers at the day care have to adapt to each child’s needs, and temperaments. Because they’re all different. I wished for a long time. That I could be a mom. But, it was too complicated with the way my spine is affected. Because of my physical disability I was born with.
You are an inspirational off-the-cuff speaker, I was enthralled with every moment. The mountain image is a brilliant one for anyone with any sort of difficulty to overcome. And of course you do a wonderful job as a parent, dealing with the life you have. Thank you.
You’re awesome, I’m not a parent, but I do enjoy your videos and message.. I do know the Good Lord your back, keep up the great work. Hugs to Hudsyn and Dom and wifey..Hope y’all had a nice holiday.. God Bless.. and there may be snow here in Texas not sure yet.. but I’m not putting my flip flops away just yet..💜🌹❤️
Enjoyed this vlog. The freestyle of communicating your journey of self discovery not just as a special needs Dad and all you have discovered about you and people as a whole made perfect sense to me. I too have been on a long journey of adapation. As you said and I completely agree, "Acceptance" is the first step on that monster of a mountain that we fear but that we must take in order to adapt to our lives. If not then there's no growth. Anger erupts, self pity rears its ulgy head and we've lost a chance to adapt. Anger is fear turned inward. Fear of the unknown, pity for what isn't. Each day is an opportunity to take a few more steps up that mountain. I look forward to more "Talking Heads" memorized or not. Also I'd like to add the vlog on addiction was also fantastic. It too resonated with my journey. Again great vlog. Thank you.
Dan and Casey, Ye are Awesome people and parents 💖💖💖💖 Love to Ye, Hudsyn and Damek 💖💖💖💖 XXXX P.s, loved the f-word, replayed it 4 times ☺️ So expressive 😁😜
Literally shaking my head right along with all of this. My disabled child is 7 and I couldn’t agree more, I hate when parents of disabled children act like it’s so horrible. Like my “typical” kid is way harder. I can’t belive people have typical kids and are like let’s do that again. 😂
Good vid. Keep it up! 🙂 Hoping to hear an update on VNS. Considering it for our daughter. On a side note…if the shutter speed is increased in the camera you can prevent light flicker from the lights in the back
Not sure I can change that on my iPhone 13 pro, but I'll see! As for VNS, we are believers! About to get her second battery change surgery later this month. It's made a huge difference,...... plus LESS MEDS!
Hi Philosopher Dan, I think a very important point is that there are wonderful present, interested parents, and then there are mine. So adapting will only be successful with parents who are truly special. I am speaking of parents adapting because that is what you shared about most. Adapting is not the primary issue. Love is. You know Dan I have trouble adapting to what has come of me. I am now mostly Bed-Bound. I use a mobility scooter and I have an adorable Service Dog Finn. I am in Severe pain always and have Complex- PTSD which since I became older I now have major Meltdowns due to getting so Overwhelmed so quickly. I am sharing this because I am totally unsure if I've Adapted or not. I don't really know what it means for me. I think it's resilience and the ability to flow with lifes realities. I don't know really. It's similar to accepting. I had a therapist that was helping me deal with losing my whole way of life and being pretty much done. I said I want to accept this is how it is Now. Her response was jarring. She said, I think you'd be very odd and crazy to accept being in severe pain. I'm confused. MORE OF THESE TYPE VIDEOS DAN.VI AM SICK OF CREATORS THINKING THEY HAVE TO ENTERTAIN AND BE DOING SOMETHING SO INTERESTING. Interesting is being transparent, authentic and just sharing your thoughts . Its way more engaging. Great video.
I think my biggest point here IS to adapt mentally. But the people I'm mostly referring to are special needs PARENTS. They are the ones I'm able to relate to the most because that is the role I live in. I don't expect Hudsyn to adapt, for example. She is who she is, and it is my job to help her with that. Having a disability is a whole different life that I can only imagine how to cope with because I don't live that role. I hope that makes sense. ❤️
@@SeeTheSeitz Hi there Dan. First, thank you for finding the right comment. I have no Idea how you got a 2 year old one. Anyways, I want you to know that I was crystal Clear, because you did a very good job Talking about the importance of Adapting for the parents of a special needs child. The reason I wrote what I did about first comes real love and devotion to being involved with your children is, If you have parents that are not that first, they will not be willing to adapt, they will not want to adapt, because it's all about them and not about their children. That was my point. But I wanted you to know. I absolutely thought you did a great job. And it was very good to hear you Talk about something of such importance to you. What you have found the best way to handle being the parent of a disabled or specially child is learn Adapting skills. The reason for me that it was important that first comes a good parent, is because I was a special needs Child, I'm also a special needs adult. Unfortunately I did not have parents that could have given a crap about if I was comfortable, if things made sense to me, whatever. I got beaten,I was extremely traumatized and abused. Thank God I wasn't put in an institution by my parents. I hate to even call them my parents. I want to say I hope you do more of these Dan, it's so interesting when I see a Content creator talk about what's meaningful to them, it's more interesting. I think on RUclips, too many content creators think they have to have a busy day. Or they have to be doing something rather exciting or interesting. To me, I find the most interesting is just them talking whether they're driving, Or just sitting at the kitchen table Having a conversation with your wife Stacey about a certain issue. So thank you for doing that in the last video I really enjoyed that type of video. All right. I hope what I have said has made You understand why I said what I said and again, I want you to know that Yes, I fully understood that it was about parents who are taking care, Caregivers of special needs. Children, and you did a good job at it, I'll tell you that. take care. See you soon.❤️🩹🔥

It is nice to hear the thoughts of a caregiver it is encouraging to others who are also caregivers… to let people know they are not alone.
