Lyrics were set to the first Marche Militaire at some point long ago. I learned them at school in Liverpool. It began - “We are the gnomes of the wood who are marching / Marching along in the moonlight clear and bright. / Daytime’s spent in caverns deep. / We must creep while you sleep / Gathering for our watch to keep / Through the silent night.” (And so on… about making fairy armor and weaving magic spells. Sounded great with about 50 boys singing it to a pounding old upright piano in a big hall!)
My mom used to play this on the piano many years ago. I only knew the name of this piece in German and could not remember the composer. She taught me the first couple of bars. I have finally discovered it today due to shear persistence. Brought back many memories.
I only knew the No.1 so I asked my piano teacher to teach me this song, but what he gave me is from no.1 to no.3. So I learned that there are three of these.
Wow! I never knew this piece was written by Schubert! It's in a really old Disney cartoon for Christmas. It's about Santa's workshop or something. I don't have a link, but there is a great symphonic rendition of this piece in it. I had no idea this was originally for piano!
It's called Santa's Workshop. Same for me. But the song is not full in the Disney cartoon version, there's only a part of it. Enjoy ruclips.net/video/Jm_HUhHKWC0/видео.html
finally!! found the piano version i used to dance to as a child!! something at the trot's pace i used to imagine marching to :') thank you for uploading!
Esta musica tambien suena en varios capitulos de Chespirito, que escribio muchos guiones sobre personajes historicos u obras literarias a su estilo comico e irreverente...

Again a Fantastic masterpiece.
Wonderful
Finally a good tempo. Most performances are way too slow.

Oh, so this is the piece that plays in the Germany stage from Super Buster Bros.
Bueno, esto con orquestación suntuosa y mucha fanfarria se llama la marcha Radetzy y se toca en el Concierto de Año Nuevo.
cool
Please give me a whole tray of peas. Thank You!
Also, that very old Walt Disney Santa Claus Cartoon brought me here honestly.
Yes im not the only one with the cafeteria reference lmfaoo
I found it because of Baby Einstein.
Wow
👍
Nhạc hay quá
I’m kinda pissed that this was originally for piano. The orchestral versions kick ass!
Shut up
The piano version isn't bad
just feels too weak imo once you hear the orchestral version. ya cant go back
bayonetta's gold lp brought me here lol
Unfortunately, due to how popular this is, I failed my duet competition :(
This looks like an Allegro con fuoco not a March...
I can't find sheet music for the 3rd one, do you know where I can get them?
Dat long pause at 0:54
Bayonetta brought me here
hey do you have sheet music for number 3
Please give me… a whole tray of….. PEAS
