I love browsing the internet and finding some really good LGBTQ movies that are worth holding an hour or more of my attention. Thought this one lived up to my expectations until suddenly it didn't. Good acting for some great characters, but I was left feeling very unsatisfied. Why oh why couldn't you let us have this one? Kooky story but no,no, no to that ending. There could have been a resolution to this story that would have sent us away feeling a whole lot happier. So tired of LGTQ movies having crappy endings. What happened to forgiveness? It is a real thing. This ending left me going huh? Felt like I'd been given a shiny new toy, only to have it ripped away. Stop making us look intolerant and unforgiving.
Forgiveness?? You'd forgive your partner for doing something like that? Like it wasn't just her dad,the guy at the bar and who knows all the other guys she'd been doing shit with for 18 months,she needs to heal fr... This was a decent story, her dad really liberated her and that was worthwhile 😊

She's got no charm to her (not the actress herself but the writing of Kim) and I never felt watching the film that she even likes Nic. She just comes across like a horrible person. I was half expecting her to fall in love with Walter and run off with him. I was half expecting the film to go that route, people who are cheaters who all of a sudden meet and click and find their are in love. Kim gets off pretty easy in the end I thought too.

I think it's because "cheating" has nothing to do with a father / child relationship and he genuinely didn't know who the girl was. That being said forgive doesn't mean forget. For all we know he'll never be invited around her friends ever again. That's what I'd do. And I'd definitely ditch the friend who came on to her dad too.

Kim made one mistake that in my humble opinion should have been forgiven. Why throw away a lifetime of happyness by not forgiving your partner for one mistake. One who she knew was the father of her soon to be wife and never looked remorseful for it (Walter didn't know who she was beyond a friend of Nic's). As I was watching this film, I was half expecting Walter and Kim to fall in love and run off with one another, I really thought the film was going down that route for a while. At least when Walter found out he looked remorseful for it. And did the right thing, even though he knew it would destroy his relationship with his daughter Nic but knew if she married Kim that it would just end in heartbreak as Kim just isn't in love with Nic. I have no issues with the ending with the father, they try to redeem Kim by saying she was 100% at fault for what happened between Walter and her. The ending with Kim and Nic was the right call. Kim doesn't love Nic, and I'm not so sold on that she's that into women either. She clearly someone who needs to go away and stay single for a while and sort out her issues. I think Nic needs to cut her out of her life, as both need to move on. She's not a good presence in Nic's life and Nic needs to focus on herself and rebuild her relationship with her father. Having Kim around ain't going to help that.

Okay, so the daughter shows up at the dad’s con. And then the credits roll…A guy wrote/directed this…makes more sense. Two of his daughter’s friends want to hook up with him. His friend is perving on his daughter’s friends and congratulates him. It’s like some gross guy’s weird fantasy story. And how about that Q&A in the dinner scene…dated. Lazy/Bad writing. The worst part of this movie is that ‘funny’ is in the title and it’s not actually funny. Ugh.

@@tayja-aguilar It's crazy I'm seen way to many comments saying Kim made a "mistake" , that she deserves a second chance. She slept with two guys, not that far apart from each other. One who she knew was the father of her soon to be wife and never looked remorseful for it (Walter didn't know who she was beyond a friend of Nic's). As I was watching this film, I was half expecting Walter and Kim to fall in love and run off with one another, I really thought the film was going down that route for a while.
At least when Walter found out he looked remorseful for it. And did the right thing, even though he knew it would destroy his relationship with his daughter Nic but knew if she married Kim that it would just end in heartbreak as Kim just isn't in love with Nic.
I have no issues with the ending with the father, they try to redeem Kim by saying she was 100% at fault for what happened between Walter and her.
The ending with Kim and Nic was the right call. Kim doesn't love Nic, and I'm not so sold on that she's that into women either. She clearly someone who needs to go away and stay single for a while and sort out her issues. I think Nic needs to cut her out of her life, as both need to move on. She's not a good presence in Nic's life and Nic needs to focus on herself and rebuild her relationship with her father. Having Kim around ain't going to help that.

Two of his daughter’s friends want to hook up with him. His friend is perving on his daughter’s friends and congratulates him. It’s like some gross guy’s weird fantasy story. And how about that Q&A in the dinner scene…dated. Lazy/Bad writing.
The worst part of this movie is that ‘funny’ is in the title and it’s not actually funny. Ugh.

interesting take. but at 13mins of the movie i have to stop and skip. to the almost end. I got bored, .. I'm no film expert but the writing of this characters/ plot made me question why are wasting this much time in the relationship of this two.
