Gallois was my only idol during my first 15years.. ,of the time he really look like a prince, I even noticed the importance of Rampal later, all because parents only had accedently got home the tapes(decca) of him. When really MET him in fromt was about 10 years ago, still a great performer and maestro im my mind. Five more years later then that, I bought his new recordings the music sure was seriously made, but I just don't feel it be enlightend, so this will remain my best memory
Это самое лучшее исполнение на YTube! Никто не может сравниться с Патриком! Самое точное и грамотное, самое изящное и прекрасное исполнение! Такой вкус! Божественно! Наслаждение неописуемое!
I love the way he's playing. When I hear it I always feel the joy of him. That's somenthing that not everyone is able to show in front of so many people. Congratiolations! I am looking forward to listen to more pieces of you! xx
He may well be --- but listen to Jasmine Choi playing the Introduction and Rondo Capriccio by Saint-Saens. Your hair will stand on end end. On you tube just type in Jasmine Choi. You just might become a believer.
I play and have a b foot joint --- it still looks to me like Gallois is playing, as is Bouriakov. That's common among European players --- but unheard of here in States. B foot joint is a must. I guess I'll have to look more closely at the video. I'm missing something here.
Perhaps I'm mistaken --- but it appears that he is playing with a "C" foot-joint? Rather common in Europe, but virtually unheard of in America, as in a "B" foot-joint. Also, I didn't catch it on the video, but is he also playing on a Plateau flute as opposed to a "French" (open hole) flute?
@TheScottishDragon ...i guess the term's pronunciation varies depending where one is from... I remember a master class many years ago when the question was presented to Jean-Pierre Rampal, "Please, can you answer this question for us: Is it "Flutist", or "Flautist"? to which he replied after a long silence, "I play ze Flute - NOT ze Flaut."
Practice, remember your meter, start slow and build to the written tempo. This is a truly mesmerizing piece. Anyone of any age can do it with a lot of practice on technique, range, and tempo. Hope you upload it once you do master the piece.
Does anyone know if Emmanuel Pahud has recorded this piece? I think it would be neat to hear his version and see how these two great flutists interpret the same work.
I agree --- but don't be too quick to dismiss Jasmine Choi. Listen to her incredible performance of the Introduction and Rondo Capriccio by Saint-Saens. just youtube her name. Incidentally, she was just appointed as principal flutist of the Vienna Symphony. A challenging task.
I am talking to you yes. From your "professional " comments, about who is better than other I understand that you must be a flutist, as such you should know which famous flutist plays what instrument especially Patrick Gallois- I know what he is playing with not being a flutist! You were so over the top with your comments who is better flutist than Patrick that i thought you should know a lot. Now grow up and stop being angry. Classical musci is not for anglry people!
Who’s listening this song on 2024?
I love how every note has intention, and he doesn't just play the music, he LIVES in the music.
Best interpretation on RUclips for sure!
Très belle interprétation.
Excellent. beautiful. Thanks for
Gallois- the musician, the artist, the legend!
i cant stop smiling while watching this. he plays so well and is so handsome.

I love the way he makes it look so effortless- outstanding performance
Yes because his is not really playing......... Everything was recorded in a studio.....
@@George-jg6ry hope that's sarcasm man. Just lost last remaining faith in humanity otherwise
@@George-jg6ry No he was really playing, this was a concert, just not recorded
Wow!! This is a great performance. I love the way his phrases flow together, giving a really smooth and natural feel to the music.
He is SO good! I've only been playing 2 and a half years but I know a great flute player when i see one! wow!

Superbe version avec orchestre et quelle sonorité bravo à P. Gallois
I'm playing this for my senior solo performance in May :D auditions are next week, and I wish I sounded this good!
you are the happiest looking flutist I have ever seen!!!
lovely to discover you.
Un immense merci à vous.....Monsieur Gallois.......quel délice !!!!!!
Unbelievable talent! But that one sticky key...
That wasn't sticky, that was a stylistic choice
ドップラーのこの曲を最もよく表現しており、感動してしまいました。素晴らしいの一言です。
That is what real passion and dedication looks like.
Wow...this is stunning, absolutely riveting.
Any one else notice how the first theme sounds exactly like the lullaby from Narnia?
この曲自体を大好きですが、演奏がまた素晴らしい。こんなに楽しく聴いたことは今までありませんでした。
Absolutely amazing. The expressions are ...Omg, I can describe it . One of the greatest flutist I ever listen.
way above all others on this piece
Fabulous!!!
Best piece from Ferenc Doppler.
My French idol when I was a teenager. XD
So beautiful,
felicitations, quelle belle epoque de gallois!
flawless
I come from Kindaiji
Ads interrupting the music! Dreadful! And unbelievable that someone could be that crass!
Gallois = God
look at this beautiful blonde guy....no effort....only huge talent.....
such a talent! wow!
temperamentvoll !! schön !
BRILLIANT!!!
Wonderful performance from a piece that I know so well. Thanks for uploading.

So beautiful and subtle.
Possibly my favourite flute piece, thanks :)

Alex DeLarge plays Doppler's Pastoral.
perfection
That look he gives at 6:40 hahahaha priceless
It looks like he is singing through his flute!
nice head movment!
I hate it that the piece sounds so easy when he plays it... sigh...
I played it on an audition yesterday, and I made it :)
幼い時に、ガロワのこの演奏を良く聴きました。
累死我了從小就拿他當範本,也贏了一些人

best recording of this song on youtube?
he looks like a marionette puppet...
it's hard to believe he's actually blowing into the flute!
I agree... he is a master of circular breathing, which makes it seems he is not blowing in the flute...
Francesismo puro alla rampal...
I meant that I think Gallois is playing with a C joint, as does Bariokov. I type faster than I can think.

A little surprised. Unless I'm wrong, it looks as though he's playing with a C foot-joint? Almost unheard of, among professionals.
If 13 years old girl play this, will be amazing? Cuz i'm 13, i'm going to play this! I'm very nervous about that;_;
Practice, remember your meter, start slow and build to the written tempo. This is a truly mesmerizing piece. Anyone of any age can do it with a lot of practice on technique, range, and tempo. Hope you upload it once you do master the piece.
As before stated: "Practice, practice". As a flutist, I find this a rather challenging composition. Good luck.
Seulement avec piano, ai eu mon prix de Caen vers 1969
Does anyone know if Emmanuel Pahud has recorded this piece? I think it would be neat to hear his version and see how these two great flutists interpret the same work.
He appears to be playing from the left side of his embouchure---- I've seen other flutists who do, also. What's up with that?
I agree --- but don't be too quick to dismiss Jasmine Choi. Listen to her incredible performance of the Introduction and Rondo Capriccio by Saint-Saens. just youtube her name. Incidentally, she was just appointed as principal flutist of the Vienna Symphony. A challenging task.
Vienna Symphony is not Vienna Philharmonc for what you might be taking it .Jasmine might be good but Gallois is a legend.
"I know what he is playing " Suuuure you do.
@katiechan4 I really love his drama lol
2:35 4:28
The ads are so annoying
It sounds like Narnia lol
+Lukas Voorhies Yes the beginning, sounds like Narnia lullaby :D
какие чистые верхние ноты!
Who knows what kind of flute he plays?
That's truth!! and I can't see any emotion in his play. He's face looks identically all the time.
Nope it's a B-joint, there's two keys on the foot.
what!? I think he meant that he is that fluent,..
not lacking emotion.
I thought you should know what flute Gallois is playing if you are pretending to be such profi in flute playing.
@ritafab flautist........lol
