The dolphins you saw are the river dolphins which only live in fresh water and they look different than the sea dolphins that we usually see. It's really great to see you were lucky enough to encounter them, as susuk dolphins are almost on the verge of extinction. People in bd sometimes call them "Shishu" in the short form or local language or something like that of "Susok". Shishu also means child/baby in Bengali and number 1 which is pee is actually called hishu/ hishi
Edit: Shishu or Sisu is not a short form but Shushuk in Assamese

Pollution in river from industry (leather , clothes manufacturers) have killed off most river dolphins, when I was a child in the early 1980s, there were lots of river dolphins, there was also more fish for the dolphins

Actually, In winter they grow mustard , which turns into yellow area after finishing with the mustard season, they start rice cultivation then it turns into greenery. Then the monsoon season arrives.

It is dolphin, all the toothed whale species are dolphins. kindly check again, wikipedia has a page about this named Indus river Dolphin
