For all of you who have emailed me over the past 6 or 7 years asking for this tutorial (I even got a request again this past week), THANK YOU for your patience! I hope you all enjoy it. I've loved teaching this piece ever since I started giving piano lessons. I wish all of you the best for another great week of practice.
I began playing piano just beginning this year and my piano teacher recommended I work on this at my last recital, so happy with your tutorial hopefully I can put a smile on her face next week :)
Great to hear you encouraging students to make some expressive variants on the repeat Josh. I find musicians who do this far more engaging to listen to.
So glad you did this. This is the piece I’m currently learning.... please let me know the piece you are currently learning and I shall return the favour...
Thanks for all the helpful suggestions. I just started playing the piano again and started working on this. I’ve got the notes and timing down but am trying to clean it up a bit and your suggestions are very appreciated.
Again thank you for all you do for us on utube. Your voice and playing are so calming. We especially like the elegance you present. Those things seem to be disappearing these days. We love high quality presentation. Keep on encouraging us and helping us to enjoy everthing piano.
Thanks you for another great ProPractice video especially on this particular piece, this piece has been in my "to do" list for a long time. Since you made a video on this piece, i will start working on it.
In a beginner (ish) piece such as this, not pedal markings are in the score. Is it meant to be played with no pedal. I've gone back to my early pieces to really practice (like I should have done at the time). I tend to add too much pedal and am never sure what is best.
Dear Josh, i'm 43 and a former drummer who's been playing since 7 years old, and been in various bands all my life. I want to learn piano as a hobby and can "tinkle" a little bit - certain chords, notation, very basic stuff and I do know and understand time signatures. Is this realistic in your opinion at my age? Only reason I'm asking as someone said i'm too old to learn the other day and I felt totally dis-heartened :-( I'm looking at your courses on your website and extremely tempted to learn off of a master player as yourself. Kind regards, Steve.
Steve you’re never too old to learn! My mom started playing the piano 20 years ago when she was in her 30s. And she’s been my piano teacher for 10 years now

Josh Wright love it very much, you’re so great. Thank you
I can't pay money... because I'm from Iran, you know what it means? So? Fuck all the rules between countries and also fuck the capitalism
Nice music Josh!!!
This sonatina if played properly, not only is amazing, but it will make you sound like a top skilled virtuoso.
Michael Tired interesting observation!
Just heard this in a recital, a 4 yr old who started lesson less than 1 year ago...pretty amazing

It took me some tries to get the phrasing right on that passage! The hardest thing I've done so far.
Josh you are genuis tanks for this tip video
MOSERIOS MOSERIOS you are too kind. I’m glad you enjoyed it
Oh noooo can you do his sonatas? I love them so much!! Op 33 No. 3 is so difficult for me haha.
I'm actually not too familiar with a lot of his works...I'll have to check that one out! Thanks for the suggestion.
@@joshwrightpiano Yea I think his sonatas are absurdly under appreciated.
Josh Wright His Sonatas are amazing! Extremely underrated. I recommend Howard Shelley’s recordings (he’s recorded all of them).
Quite wonderful
I like your tutorials
Charming!
Thanks so much Micki!
Where can I see the rest of this video ?
20 years and still remember the notes? Wow

Yep, I watched a video where a 100 year old played your song and started near her 60s
Thomas Wilke and Steve, don’t you think piano can be challenging sometimes and sometimes not challenging?
Never too late
First boss
