It's been 3years and I still cannot believe it that the amazing singer and songwriter Chris Cornell left us. Chris and his music were a big part of my life growing up and when I listen to his music today I still get choked up and my eyes start to fill and I cry and I'm not ashamed of saying that because he meant that much to me, R.I.P Chris🙏.....thank you Taylor and Matt for this here's to ya 🍻🍺🍺🍺 😎🤙
Same here. I can still remember how I felt the first time I heard Louder Than Love back in the day. Finally, I thought, here is a band that has got it right. Heavy as hell when it was right to be, melodic and mellow when _that_ made sense. And they had a groove that drove everything along perfectly. They made the L.A. hairspray and Spandex crowd look and sound like the two dimensional, dumb as rocks jokes they were. Equal parts Black Sabbath and The Beatles, with touches of punk and Parliament/Funkadelic smoothed in, their talent and obvious sincerity drew me in instantly. The musicianship was stunning without being masturbatory, Cornell's vocals were remarkable however they were employed, and Cameron's drumming _still_ leaves me open mouthed with wonder today. Soundgarden were my "gateway" band. Through them I next discovered Temple of the Dog, Screaming Trees, Tad, Alice in Chains and, of course, a then virtually unknown three piece (technically a four piece at the time) who were still busy gigging on their debut album, Bleach. Damn, but those were some good years for Rock music.
@@robashton8606 I hear ya bro those were the dayz when if you had a bad day at work or just a bad day and you knew that the weekend was where you get together with your girl and friends and cold ass keg and turn the music on and just have a helluva time. Here's to ya Rob stay safe🍻🍺🍺🍺 😎🤙
people don't understand that rock is freedom, it's lightness and something totally unrelated to stereotypes, rock saved the world after war and after revolutions. This woman has a sweet and pleasant soul and a soul loaded with everything I quoted above, she doesn't make music just for the rock movement, she is the movement
Yet it seems the public at large doesn't give a shit that there's a young (and yes, GORGEOUS) front woman who sings like an amalgamation of Cornell, Ann Wilson, stevie nicks and joan jett. It's fucking depressing!
I still haven’t got over what happened to Chris Cornell... This cover is so beautiful. Thank you so much for doing this collab. You are both amazing musicians.
Man, you're not kidding! I just finished watching her tribute performance of last year I believe. Wow, just wow. I was definitely not expecting that. I only know her from Gossip Girl so I didn't see that from her! I haven't been pleasantly surprised at music in a few years, so that was awesome!
I woke up with my feet nailed down And my head moving the speed of sound Had a dream I was caught in a maze And I couldn't find my way back out Some were born to move mountains around And some to rot away in jail I get an itch and when I am scratching Everything can go to hell And how far is halfway there? I didn't see you on the trail Did almost become good enough? Should a good life be so hard won? Is that what our dreams have become? Sometimes when you're shooting an arrow It can fly across the sky so proud I would go all the way to the sun If I didn't have to come back down And how far is halfway there? I didn't see you on the trail Did almost become good enough? Should a good life be so hard won Is that what our dreams have become? Have you got a car? Somewhere to sleep? Someone who loves you? Something to eat? I would say you're doing better than most Though maybe not as well as some And how far is halfway there? I didn't see you on the trail Did almost become good enough? Should a good life be so hard won? Is that what our dreams have become? Is that what our dreams have become?
The best tribute for Chris! Thank you so much Taylor and Matt. This is so beautiful. He is so missed💔. His legacy lives on through you guys and all the fans. Interesting that Matt's playing & singing is clearly from many past recordings. Perhaps this also shows how he documents his work on SG albums. Im sure he has the same documentation from working on what is their newest album. I Stand With Soundgarden ❤
Namaste guys. One can always see clearly true kinship , love , mutual respect & an unwavering universal soul connection in ones actions honoring their fallen. As a life long follower, you guys keeping the tribe together , coming closer even , after Detroit fans that smoldering ember back to a raging fire, a LIT Phoenix if you will.🤗 Continue to hang tough fighting the good fight!
His voice is as if angels and demons were having sex. She manages to be extremely angelic and rude, she surrenders her soul to her music and passes emotion in her timbre. Taylor M is gold
Matt Cameron is someone whose drumming I've always been a big fan of, who knew (not me) he could also play guitar and sing. And yes, Taylor once again knocks another Soundgarden/Chris Cornell song out of the park.
It's like father and daughter making music. They look great and the music is amazing.

R.i.p Chris cornell
I was in Seattle jammin back in 92. It was cool back then to see Soundgarden in their element. Miss that voice!

A wonderful tribute to Chris Cornell Matt and Taylor!!! Thank you!!!
Major props for artists who sound just the same live/unplugged as they do studio. No autotune/remix nonsense, just talent.

Yeah, me either. The Seattle grunge curse man. It sucks.
Taylor sounds really good on this. Really appreciating her vocal talent as it's kept getting better over the years...not a lot who can claim that.

A real showcase of Matt Cameron's multi instrumental talent. He can drum and play 2 guitars as once.
Yet almost no one mentions it, unfortunately.
Lol
And sing background vocals!
You see, Matt Cameron is the best that Pearl Jam could have, he brought the quality to that band.
Two extraordinary talents right here! More of this please!
Her voice is always so clear
Taylor was perfect in this live performance; she is definitely one of the best female voices in Rock today!
But her Timing and tempo wasn't :p
