Kleptomania is a real issue. I can only imagine that stealing alone can give you a rush . God only knows how else people that have this mental health disorder feel unless they actually share their deep seated feelings. I appreciate attention and light being shed on this topic. It's real and should not be taken lightly. Let's think of how we would want help for ourselves or a love one bc if we don't consider the alternative. Kleptomania is no joke and never should be dismissed and treated as such. It's a medical condition that is also considered a crime , in some cases a felony where I'm from and should be met with compassion like any other mental health condition should. In some countries if you get caught stealing they a hand off . Real talk. I had a friend, if you want to call him that , that had a problem with taking shit that didn't belong to him. He was a f*cked up individual. God bless his soul. I bet you he's robbing and stealing in hell. He'd steal from your home, while you were home, and sit and talk to you with a straight face. The was, he came from a 2 parent home, unlike most of us in the ' hood. His had decent jobs. His was a council men, hence the stealing, and his mom was a VP of operations at a barrel company. He always had the best , and latest fashions out. He was the first of our gang or group of friends who had a car. Dad pulled some strings and got him a job at the airport our freshman year at college. Shit, he was the ONLY one of us who had a REAL job, but he blew it all, because he just couldn't keep his hands in his pockets and out of yours. Blew the job, got kicked out of school, had to sell the car. Word as my bond, us his friends, with our little money we had saved from legal and illegal activities 😊, bought the car off of him , 1990 Cadillac Sedan DeVille. We used to pull up on him and be like, " Bro , you need a ride." Seriously we used to that shit. His world came crashing down when he was working at his job at the Chinese restaurant. He got caught, the only time he had ever been caught stealing. We were sitting in the car waiting for him to get off. He gets off at 12, but it was damn near 12:30 and he still hadn't come out . Suddenly we heard all this commotion coming from the back of the restaurant. We heard the Chinese people screaming and then we heard our guy yell, " Awwwww, goddamit, motherf*cking b*tches, and he came low running out of the alley way with hot grease or oil all over him. It was winter, January, about 30-35 degrees that night, and by the time he got to the car , his leather jacket and skin was peeling off right in front of our face. We rushed him to the hospital. Thank goodness we were 5 minutes away. I think we got there in 2. By the time we got there you could smell the grease, leather, and his skin. I will never in my life forget that smell, all because of his stealing. So yeah sis, that Klepto shit is real. I've seen it up close and personal, so I know what it can do to a person or his or her families. My man survived. After 4 operations and 9 months in the hospital, he was back at it. Until he went to prison for manslaughter during one of his thieving ass crimes. I'm pretty sure he went to his grave owning me at least 2 cell phones, a ounce of weed , and 2 bikes, both belonging to my niece. If I would've ever caught him or had proof about the bikes. I didn't want to f*ck him up on hearsay. Dig me. Bless his rotten soul. 😮
