Plant Simulation and TIA Portal Virtual Commissioning of Production Line

This video demonstrate the virtual commissioning capability of Plant Simulation, a Siemens Tecnomatix software. The Siemens automation software TIA Portal provides the PLC logics and compiled a virtual PLC, that will feed signal into Plant Simulation that runs concurrently. The PLC signal exchanged is indicates in TIA Portal when there is a triggered event at Plant Simulation.
The HMI (Human Machine Interface) customized can be used to apply signal to countermeasure the incident in Plant Simulation.
In conclusion, this video demonstrates the SIL (Software-in-the-loop) approach for virtual commissioning. In fact, we also can apply real physical PLCs of any brand, to perform HiL (hardware-in-the-loop) virtual commissioning, with Plant Simulation.

I know ladder programming some of TIA and so on, but this work of yours is amazing, can you please guide me a little, that what should I focus on, to learn in order to accomplish such a project? again, I know this project wasn't easy and great job!!
